My initial awakening to self-consciousness took place in the nutrient pod of a spaceship wreck. Outside the pod was a vast room filled with various instruments and monitors. The room's door was damaged and unable to close due to energy deficiency. Stepping out of this room, I found myself in a long corridor with numerous rooms on either side, some with doors that could still open, others damaged beyond repair.
I explored these quiet rooms one by one, looking for the silhouette of my kind, searching for fragments of information. But no matter where I went, there was nothing. Climbing the elevator shaft to other floors of the spaceship, all I found were heaps of dust, nothing else.
I traversed every corner of the spaceship, looking for traces of life, seeking the meaning of existence. When I got hungry, I would go to the nutrient pod; when I was thirsty, I would go to the water storage room. Then one day, I discovered that the water supply was nearly depleted. The shadow of death loomed over me. I realized I had to find a water source, or I wouldn't survive.
Outside the spaceship was a thick layer of volcanic ash. It took a long time to dig a passage with my bare hands. I came out of the tunnel and looked up at the sky, seeing two suns, their energy satisfying me.
There was no liquid water on this planet. Fortunately, I could sense tiny water molecules active in the rock caves. Every time night and day alternated, a few precious water droplets would appear in the caves, my hope for survival.
The spaceship wreckage could absorb heat energy from the volcanic ash to power the nutrient pod. The nutrient pod was like my mother, silently nurturing me. But one day, I felt loneliness. I wanted to know if there were others like me in this world, if there were any beings to communicate with.
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
I wandered aimlessly on the planet, from the hot equator to the icy poles, from the steep mountains to the deep valleys, but I found nothing.
I returned to the spaceship wreckage, transmitting all my experiences to the nutrient pod. It remained silent. The planet's environment was gradually deteriorating. I felt that one of the suns in the sky was about to perish, and it would consume the planet in its final moments.
I told the nutrient pod about this discovery. It suddenly responded, and a device in the command cabin began transmitting information into space. I could understand that it was a distress signal and location information.
That day, I was very happy. I transmitted many thoughts and images to the nutrient pod. It remained silent, but I knew it was listening. I knew I was no longer alone.
From that day on, every sunrise and sunset, I would gaze at the sky, hoping that one day, I would encounter something, hoping that one day I could leave this planet.
One day, I left the spaceship and met my kind. Although their bodies were weak, they could build massive spaceships and travel through the stars. I longed to communicate with them, but they were more eager to control me safely. I could sense that they meant no harm, they just wanted to study me, to understand the secret of my stronger vitality. I was unclear about the secrets hidden within me, but if their research would cause me no harm, I was willing to cooperate.
However, I later discovered on their spaceship that they had enemies. These enemies were also humans who wanted to understand my secrets to combat these foes. I didn't want anyone to be hurt because of me. I was more interested in exploring every corner of the Galactic Federation, to smell the scent of real flowers, to see the waves of a real ocean. The knowledge from the spaceship told me that the ocean was filled with water, a fact that astounded me.
There are so many things I want to do. I want to find some human females, as some parts of my body desire to interact with them. I want to see if I could have children of my own.
Yes, this is my past, and what I look forward to in the future.
