As Jenson Aguilar awoke she groggily flailed her stump of a left arm looking for her prosthetic as she made contact with it she heard a hiss and a clunk as it connected to her arm. Standing she looked around her barren room, barren now at least. Sleepily stumbling toward the coffee maker she saw a picture frame she faced down long ago. A picture of him, she still missed her husband. He died on the eastern front while fighting the rebel hoard. Sighing, she told her home to make her morning coffee. As the smart device poured out her coffee and her daily pills she chugged the coffee, pills and all.
Finally feeling more awake she got dressed putting on her overcoat and vest over the clothes she had forgotten to take off before going to bed. Walking out the door she grabbed her badge and gun, badge reading "Detective". And her Firearm, the Milton 24 a classic among the force and a favorite of hers. As she began to walk out the door she stopped by her mailbox and grabbed the daily newspaper. As she stepped onto her front steps however she heard a massive electrical hum, an explosion and the city's alarms beginning their telltale scream. Looking in the direction of the noise she saw the police office in the distance aflame in a brilliant show of green sparks and plasma. Screaming and yelling officers ran from the building, many aflame or injured. She began to sprint toward the station to help, minor augments whining at the strain. Suddenly she saw a massive figure fall from the sky in front of the station, a glowing green visor seemingly emanating danger. As she stopped in her tracks the figure raised an arm toward a civilian and suddenly the civilian was gone, reduced to a shadow on the sidewalk. Quickly raising her firearm she opened fire, pelting the figure with round after round. Unaffected however the figure turned toward her beginning to raise its arm. As though by a miracle multiple officers from the station began to open fire on it as well. As the figure turned it lashed out arm raised sending out a beam of green energy slicing the officers into pieces and setting the parts aflame. Reloading she ran toward her home hoping to get to cover. As she ran she heard a thump behind her and as she turned she saw more figures falling from the sky. Nearly 19 in total.
Still running she made it back into her home, the door sealing behind her. With haste she ran to her room and threw open her closet, fumbling through stacks of old clothes she finally found what she was looking for. As she pulled out the old box she heard a massive bang from the door, it had buckled slightly inward. Thank heavens she had purchased higher security when she bought her home. Going as fast as she could she entered the code into the box's glassy surface, as it opened she quickly drew the weapon from within. Aiming the weapon at her door she waited. Her door suddenly slammed open with a metallic screech, fumbling once more she fired the weapon at the hulking figure just entering the door. With a massive flash she couldn’t see the weapons effect or lack thereof so she fired again and again until the weapon ran dry of ammo and she was nearly deaf due to the echoing boom. As the smoke cleared Jenson saw the things lower half, sparking and twitching. The upper half however was nowhere to be seen, all that remained were scraps. As she dropped the now steaming and sputtering weapon, she approached the wreck only to jump back as it tumbled over and started leaking a vitreous fluid.

As she stepped over it and began to walk outside a figure was sent flying into her from out of her field of vision as she fell back Jenson noticed that the figure was a human in some type of armor. As the figure began to move their helmet seemed to fizzle out and into their suit. As the figure began to speak Jenson recognized that it was Noah, her husband. “Run.” Noah managed in a groan before he fell limp. Right as Jenson was about to follow that advice she heard a whirring and whirled around to see that the machine had partially knit itself back together with the scrap that remained after Jenson’s assault. Only having half a torso, a leg and an arm the machine didn’t look too menacing until it raised its arm and in a flash fired a slug of some kind toward her. Suddenly she was shoved out of the way and slammed into the ground. As she looked up she saw Noah standing over her holding a large piece of scrap from her door, suddenly he was slammed back as the slug impacted the door piece.
Noah shuddered as the slug slammed into the scrap he was holding. As he shifted his weight to his back foot his helmet fizzled back into existence around his head. "Noah, I'm ordering you to retreat." He heard the director speak into his ear. "With all due respect, Director I refuse." He spoke evenly. Suddenly the piece of scrap he was holding was yanked from his grip, in response he quickly drew his spark pistol and drilled several low power shots into the door piece and the Xeno. In what appeared to be rage the Xeno tossed the now slag door piece at him. Noah entered a deft tumble and dodged the now lethal projectile. As he rolled he reloaded his spark pistol quickly tossing the now red hot barrel to his side and slotting a new barrel in it's place. As he exited his roll he saw that the machine had switched targets and was hopping toward his wife as a new leg, head and torso began to form.
He quickly raised his arm and loosed an overcharged spark bolt toward the Xeno machine. As it impacted he tossed a miniature T.D.F.E toward his wife, as both detonated all the sparks that went toward his wife froze in midair as did the shockwave. The Xeno however was not as lucky as it was reduced to slag and its core was turned to ash. As the distorted field of time expired his wife began to move again and all the sparks in the air dissipated. Suddenly he felt an impact to the back of his head and his suits shields flared then gave out, as he whipped around he saw two more Xeno machine suits walking toward him and his wife. In a flash however he appeared in a stark white room surrounded by armed guards and multiple other pilots.
As Jenson watched in horror she saw her husband who she had just got back disappear into thin air and as the machines raised their arms she had one final feeling of despair before she was atomized.
