"Hurry up and get rid of the fire!" The Chief was anxious.
It was twilight by now. The small fire burning appeared particularly dazzling.
“Chief, listen to me first, if we put a bunch of fire inside a deep hole, then it can light surrounding area at night, everyone gets to eat roasted meat. Everyone can even be warm and safe during the cold nights. Hell we can even share stories around the fire. Not just that but you can have hot water to wash yourself. You wouldn’t even have to worry about beasts in the night as they’ll be too afraid of the fire.”
Edward started to rapidly speak in an attempt to get his point across however, he still wasn’t used to dealing with prehistoric people other than Night and half the things he was talking about were things prehistoric people didn’t know about or didn’t cared about.
“Roasted meat your mother’s legs! Do you want the fire to come into our cave? We will all burn to death! Stop dreaming you dumbass!” The Chief roared back at him.
Edward sighed and shook his head helplessly. He thought that this old guy was really stubborn. He was just trying to help them. Even then he was doing this much effort was to simply convince Night indirectly.
‘It seems like I still have a lot to learn. Facing these dozens of savages…. And making them accept fire is basically like dreaming when they’re this much afraid of it’
They already had a pretty good language established for communication that properly expressed their thoughts and idea. It was obvious that they were smart people in their own right however they still were not thinking out of the box. They were too restricted in their thoughts. It was hard to get them used to fire and not everyone was as liberal or open minded as Night. The only conclusion was that they were too old fashioned.
"Chief..."
The old man looked at him with an annoyed look.
At this point, he had nothing to say, but in any case, he had to find a safe place to stay for the night. If he wasn’t welcome then where should he go?
Meanwhile, as everything was going on, Night was just sitting by the fire seemingly concentrating on it. It was as if she couldn’t keep her eyes off the fire.
Her younger brother walked to her side and stood a few steps behind her sister while the other brother and sister pair looked at them from the other side, completely at a loss not knowing what to do.
Sure enough, Chief and his men along with the remaining tribe made an immediate decision.
“He is a dangerous person, and you can't take him in!” was the general voice of the tribe.
In the end, everyone agreed to: drive away this rogue!
Looking at the eyes filled with anger of the Chief and the rest of the tribe, Edward knew he had no choice.
He looked at Night with her head down next to the fire.
Chief and the rest of the tribe soon left, while Edward stood in silence by the Fire.
Edward’s heartfelt down.
He felt that he was just being selfish. No matter how much he needed Night, she had to go back to the cave. Those people were her tribe, her family. She just couldn’t accompany him forever.

‘If that is the case then I am completely abandoned!’
Edward looked up towards the dimming sky as the few traces of sunlight were now dying out as he felt an inexplicable fear envelop his whole body.
"Night ...... hey, you .... you going back to your tribe now?” Edward asked nervously.
Night did not answer his question. She pouted as the burning fire reflected in her dark pupils which felt even brighter than usual.
Without looking away from the fire, Night asked back to the only group that remained back. Her brother and the pair of siblings.
“Hey, Debro, Roc, and Daisy…. What do you three think?”
"I.....I listen to my sister!" Debro replied back.
He seemed to be a bit angry.
"Old....the old guy usually does this .... this is not allowed, then.... that’s not allowed, I... I have long been not satisfied with him...."
“Hot water…. Seems interesting. As long as we can have hot water for the winters then it’s great. I’ve used hot water once and it was so good.”
A dreamy expression appeared on Daisy’s face as she continued
“The water we have here is so cold, it freezes me”
The charming little Daisy replied with a smile as she looked towards Edward.
Edward hadn’t really had the chance to look at Daisy with all the ruckus going on but now that he had the chance, he couldn’t believe that there was another stunner in this primitive society.
"I am the same, I listen to Night sister!" The young man named Roc also nodded and looked away with his eyes.
"That's good! Light," said Night, it felt like she already had a good idea. She looked at Edward calmly and continued.
"There is a small cave near here, we will take you there!"
Edward was touched! His eyes were hot and his tears almost fell.
‘I am really lucky to meet this good girl. If it weren't for her, I might have died in this era. Now she is betraying her own family for my sake. What more can I say?’
“Are you sure you want to do this Night?”
Edward still felt like making sure about her decision,
Night looked back at him with her pure clear eyes as she replied:
“Yes. I can feel like we can do much more with you. We have been going through worse and worse with the Chief.”
Finally a bit satisfied with her answer, Edward nodded at her.
After that, everyone left for the smaller cave that was nearby. Everyone got a bunch of branches and hay. They were very curious about this magical way of making fire. Edward helped everyone to make fire themselves. It was hard for them but Edward would point out any mistakes they would be making.
Finally, Debro was the first to succeed. Watching the fire ignited from his own hands, Debro yelled at Night and Edward,
“Sister …. look at this, I … I made fire!”
The fire was small but it was warm and bright in the new cave.
‘I can have a place to live, with a beautiful girl like Night, and friends like Daisy, Roc, and Debro. As for the rest, it doesn’t matter....’
Edward looked at Night. He said with a smile: "Now there is no meat. We’ll have to find some to barbecue."
The others had never eaten barbecue so they were completely indifferent to the strange word of barbecue, but Night was different. She snorted and exclaimed in excitement:
"Light, let's go hunt rabbit tomorrow? You must teach that method to them."
“The rabbit is a must for our food but you have to tell me where deer are too.” As he said, he stretched out two hands and made two horns on his head.
"That is in the territory of the Titan tribe. If we are discovered, we will be killed!" Roc was worried.
Edward felt that he should have said his plan.
"Night, we need to make bows and arrows. As long as we have such weapons, we will not only have meat to eat but also protect ourselves. We will no longer have to fear the Titan tribe!"
"Bow and arrow?" Night repeated this completely strange noun, frowning at Edward.
"Yes, this is a very powerful weapon that can kill animals and enemies at a distance."
He patted Debro’s shoulders and said with enthusiasm: "So we must go there and we must hunt a deer!"
"Hunting deer?" He was surprised and stuttered more powerfully: "It... it... they run as fast as lightning, I... I..... I never heard of someone who has caught one...!"
For Night, every word that came from Edward’s mouth were words she had never heard before. But every word he spoke brought change and hope to something even better.
"When we have bows and arrows, we can get more prey. With enough food, people will come to us. When we have enough people, we can divide the work, make all kinds of daily necessities, and eat enough. Dress warm, no longer have to live in such a simple place as a cave ......"
He felt as though this much was enough for the present as they wouldn’t really understand half the things he said or the ambitions he had of something even grander than a simple tribe. An involuntary smirk broke out on his lips.
