September 1st, 2017: The Burrow
"Freddie are you packed?" Yelled Ginny from across the Burrow.
"Yes! I just can't find my jacket!"
"You mean the one in my hand," James said sarcastically as he waited in the doorway.
Freddie had to push her long dark red hair out of the way to see.
"Oh, are you sure that isn't yours?" Freddie asked.
"Let's see" James started to put on the jacket. It was significantly smaller in size than James.
"Thanks" Freddie started taking back the jacket. Freddie stuffed the jacket into her suitcase.
"Alright, let me see my two grandbabies who are becoming wizards," Molly said calmly
"I am here!" Both Albus and Freddie said at the same time.
"Who's excited to go to Hogwarts!" Harry said.
Freddie and Albus looked at each other. They both grew up together. Sharing everything. Now they would go to the best wizarding school in the world. Now they would start the rest of their lives, making new friends and figuring out what they wanted to do.
“I am ready,” Freddie said looking at her uncle waiting to see him smile. All he did was look away. This happened many times, Harry never looked at Freddie in an endearing way. She had spent every day of her life with him yet he never gave her a fatherly smile.
Freddie wasn’t the daughter of Harry or Ginny but Charlie. Though he lived in Romania and her mother died soon after she was born. Charlie knew he couldn’t take care of a child. So he gave her to the only people he trusted, his sister.
“Alright, let's go,” Ginny said, breaking the silence. Ginny gave Harry a mean look.
“My dear you will do great at Hogwarts. You understand that right” Grandma Molly said, crouching to Freddie’s height.
“Grandma, what if I don’t get into Gryffindor?” Freddie asked. Knowing that she came from a family of Grifindors”
“Well, Teddy, Vicky, and Dom aren’t Gryffindors,” Molly said looking hopeful.
“But all my things are red,” Freddie said, fighting back tears. It wasn’t the only reason Freddie wanted to be in Gryffindor.
“I will make you all new sweaters. With Yellow, Green or Blue” Molly said, hugging her grandchild. Holding just a little too tight.

“Thank you,” Freddie said with a single tear rolling down her cheek. Freddie wanted to cry but she knew that if she started to cry so will her Grandmother and it was her one rule of the day. No crying.
Freddie walked into the fireplace. Took a handful of Floo powder and said very clearly “Platform Nine and Three Quarters”
Platform 9 ¾
When Freddie opened her eyes the station was filled with people. Adults, teenage students, and small first years saying goodbye. Freddie had been here before but it wasn’t her turn to go. This year she will go on the train. You could smell the coal from the engine.
“There you are mate” A student yelled.
“Amazing hoe was your summer?” James asked. Talking to his friends.
“Well, that was awkward,” Rose said, coming up behind Freddie.
“Morning,” Freddie said, hugging her cousin.
“Can’t believe we are almost there,” Rose said, fiddling with her bright red hair.
“What was awkward?” Freddie asked.
“Teddy and Vic snogging”
“Again”
“Yep,” Rose said, looking around for her other cousins. “Where is everyone”
“Here, we went to another fireplace,” Arthur said, running up to the two girls.
Ginny handed Freddie her bags. Harry handed Albus his bags, they seemed to be deep in a conversation. Albus and Freddie walked over to an area to drop off their bags.
“Here so you won’t be hungry on the way over,” Molly said, handing each Weasley a giant bag of sweets and sandwiches.
“If we don’t get on the train we won’t be going to Hogwarts this year,” James said, running to the doors. The others follow.
One deep breath in and Freddie walked onto the train. James already found his friends. Rose waited for Freddie and Albus before finding an empty cabin.
The Train
“I saw Molly get on, does anyone know where Vic or Roxy is?” Rose asked.
“You didn’t ask about me,” Dominique said, swinging her head in the cabin. She was wearing her green tie. Dominique was the first Weasley to be sorted into Slytherin.
“I heard you laughing with your friends,” Rose said, getting up and hugging her.
“Come on guys, give your fav cousin a hug,” Dom said, opening her arms.
After hugs went around. Dom got called away by a friend. Vic walked by and Roxy popped her head in when James came to see how they were doing. Just before the train started to move a girl with dark brown hair walked towards the cabin.
"Is it ok if I sit here?"
"Yeah, my name is Albus I am a first-year"
"Me too and Harper"
"I'm Freddie and the one in the corner is Rose," Freddie said, gesturing towards the girl reading a book.
"You both have red hair, named after two heroes from the Second Wizarding War. You must be Weasley's," Harper said casually.
Freddie and Albus looked at each other like they just saw a vampire.
"How did you know?" Freddie yelped.
"My dads taught me a lot about the war, they fought in it," Harper said sorrowfully
"Who are your dads?" Albus said curiously
"Dean Thomas and Seamus Fliningan"
"Really?" Freddie said.
"Yep"
For the rest of the ride, they shared stories about everything. Albus and Freddie talked about their time in the Burrow and how living with a big family can be hard sometimes. Harper talked about living in Ireland with her dad. Harper talked about how exciting Hogwarts is. Rose even chimed in when interesting things happened in her book. Freddie talked about herbology and the plants as they drove past them. Albus showed off the sweets in his bag. It seemed like only a few minutes passed but before the group knew it…
"Everyone welcome to Hogwarts"
