“Hold! Hold! Men and Women of Arrya, these walls have held for hundreds of year, they have never been taken. We hold!” Commander Lucien shouted while kicking another of the cursed skeletons over the edge before taking the stairs down to the courtyard. It had been 3 months since the framework initialized. 3 months of madness under the rule of the emperor of Norx.
Allain had been a good ruler, kind and fair. His father had died early on in the boy's life during a border skirmish. Elevating Allain to emperor at the age of 15. He had ruled for 6 years of peace and prosperity before his actions started to become erratic. He became violent, lashing out at anyone who doubted him or refused his commands. Many of the Norx leaders balked at the invasion of Eter. The small nation to the south had always been a peaceful trading partner.
During the survival event that ended the tutorial the emperor had finally gone mad. Murdering his closest friends and previously thought of allies. Murdering his wife and unborn babe, sacrificing them to harness their power. He had unlocked a unique class, necromancer, and began a reign of terror. Using undead abominations to crush the beast wave and level up, he set his sights on the rest of the world.
Once the people of Norx had learned of what happened in the capital they had rebelled. It had been a war of attrition since. Every soldier of Norx that was struck down by the undead was again raised to fight against its former allies. The unending tide of undead swarmed over the nation. There were only a few holdouts left.

Commander Lucien had chosen the class stalwart defender. He was able to rally troops to fight well beyond their skill level in defense of their homes. It was only effective when defending, the famous city of Arrya had some of the strongest and most imposing walls in the known world. They had held against the tide of undead for a month now. Every night the emperor assaulted the walls and so far every night the defenders held.
Their numbers were dwindling, it wouldn’t be long before they broke. There was nowhere else left to run, the emperor had ruined relations with the neighboring countries as his madness grew. If Arrya fell it would open the entire western half of the country to the undead horde. Commander Lucien took a deep breath and looked out over his exhausted men. It would be time to switch shifts on the wall again soon, maybe one more half bell. He checked his cooldowns and got ready to use his skills to bolster his troops as he headed back up the stairs to the top of the wall.
The night was alive with the undead stretching as far as could be seen from the light of the walls. It wouldn’t be long now. A deathly chill settled in the air as winter approached and brought death with it.
