Chapter 2

(“Uwah, some of those have been lying around for a week.”) The man thought as he quickly got up from his stool, trying to stop Tibaut.

Tibaut snapped his head around like an owl after the man grabbed him, and stared at him like a beast untamed.

He looked ready to strike, but the man's appearance brought him back from his delirium.

“Are you okay?” Tibaut asked.

The man had various stitches across his face and although he knew the person standing in front of him was a man he looked more boyish. He was easily smaller than Tibaut and far more slender (than his usual body type anyway.)

The parts of skin separated by the stitch were a completely different colour as well, though he didn't look like a mishmash of faces, so he likely wasn't some sort of Frankenstein (‘s monster).

“Huh? Oh, this.” He said as he rubbed his face. “Don't worry, it's long since healed. B-b-but are you okay? You seemed pretty scary there.” He asked in response.

“Y-yeah, just hungry.” He responded with flushed cheeks. He released how much of an animal he made himself seem like with that display. He looked around the room and saw the duo of Tina and Elizabeth, sleeping together in a chair with Elizabeth in her lap and Vanessa slumped over in a corner.

He briefly assumed the worst but their breathing was enough to alleviate his worries for now.

“Who are you?” He asked in a more commanding tone.

“Huh? Don't you recognise me?” The man asked. “I guess you were in pretty bad shape when I found you…”

He examined the man more and saw that he had a cross around his neck and what seemed like a few rosary bead bracelets on his hand. He also wore a green shirt with the emblem of a woman with wings praying on it.

“Yuri. My name is Yuri,” He answered as he picked Tibaut off the floor.

“So Yuri, I don't mean to sound mean but what are you doing here?”

“Huh???” The man standing at the shoulder of Tibaut said. “Don't you seriously not remember me? I mean I came late but don't you remember me healing you?”

“Heal?” He quickly lifted his shirt and noticed something odd about the side of his body. There was substantial scarring on the right of his body, but he felt no pain rubbing his hand against it.

(“I thought Elizabeth healed it… wait a second this guy healed me? I thought Elizabeth said injuries like this were impossible for someone normal to heal”)

“You don't seem that impressed…” The man with blue hair responded, disappointment still present in his voice. “Wait, does it still hurt!?”

“No, no, it's good.”

“Just good?”

It seemed their talking woke one of the women in the room and it was unsurprising who it was.

The blonde-haired woman slowly moved her head up and her emerald-like eyes turned to both the men.

“(Thank you, dear Lady, I was starting to get concerned.) It seems you've finally awakened him, Saint Nichto.” She said in a soft tone.

“Saint Nichto?” Tibaut asked as he turned towards her.

As he looked at her and the other girls in the room more closely, it seemed everyone in the room had gained dark circles around their eyes except the Saint. “(Saint… wait a second, Satan did say something about a Saint when he talked about her.) Wait, is he that friend that you were talking about?”

“Friend?” Yuri replied.

“(What is he talking about?) Have I mentioned him before now?” Elizabeth asked.

“Didn't you say you had a friend that could r-”

“Revive you” were the last two words of that sentence but Tibaut would never get to say them.

As soon as the first letter left his mouth, Elizabeth cleared the distance before the second letter could even exit and clamped both her hands around his mouth, looking as though she was stopping an unknown evil from exiting his mouth.

She said no words but the look in her eyes clearly told Tibaut, all he needed to hear and he quickly put his mouth on a break.

Yuri looked somewhat startled by this reaction and wondered what he would have said to warrant such force.

“Is everything fine Second Prin-”

Elizabeth’s eyes turned him within a fraction of a fraction of a second, with eyes just as, if not crueller than the ones shown to Tibaut. The Saint immediately changed up his sentence, not wanting her ire.

“Uh, sorry… Elizabeth, right! Ms. Elizabeth, is everything okay?” He asked as he tried to calm his heart down.

“It's fine Saint Nichto, I just had to make sure my subordinate didn't make a fool of himself in front of you.” She calmly answered. She slowly removed her hands from Tibaut’s mouth and tapped his shoulder, very obviously giving him the message to speak carefully from now on.

“So who is this guy then?” Tibaut asked, hoping to shift topics.

“The man that saved you.”

“...”

He looked back at the man named Yuri and really analysed him. He stood to his feet and Yuri stood as well expecting a handshake or thanks of sorts but was instead examined by Tibaut.

He pulled the sleeve up on one of his arms and saw a rather unremarkable arm underneath, though he had a stitch run around his lower arm.

The male of undetermined age in front of him wasn't short by any means but he was shorter than both himself and Elizabeth.

And although Tibaut wasn't one to talk in his current state, Yuri seemed somewhat thin.

“You're the one who fought the Bishop?” Tibaut asked.

“hehe” He gave an awkward laugh as if he had the same thoughts Tibaut did. “I know right? People are always surprised the Saint of Uriel looks like this…” He said, before slumping his head down.
