Clip of Velvin's Mother
As there were no light to brighten up the place, it was pitch dark in the barn.
Fortunately, the former slaves or Angels has already adjusted their eyes to the darkness.
This adjustment allowed them to easily see their surroundings and helped them as well make out what is happening here in the clip.
They then listened carefully, as they want to better hear both the mother and the son's conversation.
However, the atmosphere seemed to turned strange between Velvin and his mother.
They realized the reason however-
Since Velvin pointed his finger at her mother face and asked-
"Mother, is it true?"
"That you were of better appearance before?"
Velvin with a high pitch and small face asked innocently to his mother.
He looked cute and adorable as he asked this question, however, he didn't know he touched on a sensitive topic.
"WHAT?"
His mother was surprised as she didn't expect that this topic will come up.
His mother then feigned calmness, however deep inside she wasn't at all at ease.
"Where have you heard of this, Velvin?"
She was confused and perplexed.
Nonetheless, she wants to get to the bottom of why he asked her this question.

As the worsening or degradation of her appearance was a topic of sensitivity for her.
"Mother, I've heard of this from the drunken slaves in the barn this evening "
She then remembers that some slaves knew her before as someone who was exceptionally attractive.
However, she knows that these slaves in this land are kind enough to not mention this to Velvin.
As the slaves know that she has an ugly past that turned her face into something less then appealing, and knowing this fact might be too hurtful for his age.
Although, as she assumed... They might've been too drunk that they forgot to restrain themselves about the topic.
'Can't those no good slaves keep their mouth shut'
'Are they not aware my son sleeps in the barn too, and will overhear their drunken talks"
"Their too careless, my son will be unhappy knowing that there's a cause behind my current ugly appearance'
She then turned towards her son with a smile.
"Son, what is it of my appearance, that you are wondering about?"
She asked this question filled with love towards her son.
She is looking at him gently with the brown eyes they both have.
Although her appearance was not appealing to say the least.
She has a deformed face, furthermore, her jaw was slack, she had burn marks left all over her cheeks and forehead ,whilst, the general left of her face was swollen.
The angels were looking at her mother with pity.
"Mother, did you not get born with an appearance like this?"
Velvin asked carefully, hoping her mother answered him truthfully
'He's too young, I think it's best for now to lie, and to smile'
She then showed her big smile to him and hugged him tightly, the tightest hug she can muster.
She is doing her best of her ability to seem happy.
As she thinks, convincing him will be easier if she were to kept up this act.
With Velvin in her embrace, she then answered the question in the most cheerful tone she can muster.
"My face is turned in for the reason, i was born like this son"
She said with a laugh,
"This burn mark here, was from me cooking, son"
She wasn't aware of this, however she hates being reminded of her appearance
"This slack jaw, was because i fell, son"
She was talking normally before, however her voice turned groggy,
To anyone listening every words felt forced.
As Velvin was in her embrace, Velvin's mother eyes were looking forward.
Moonlight easily reflected of her eyes, Her vision was blurry.
Very blurry, as tears were beginning to form.
Her appearance reminds her of the pain she had to go through.
She feels like she cant keep this up.
That if maybe, if she were to keep talking she might breakdown.
She wanted to continue, however unexpectedly-
"BULLSHIT!"
Slaves who were close by shouted to this to his mother.
Velvn and his mother then was then startled.
