Chapter 2
The fire in the center of the village had burned out but the outside was still going. He was in a ring of fire. The villagers were still fighting the fire but he didn’t care. He walked out of town, on the opposite side from where the villagers were. He walked into the freezing forest.
If his family was gone, he could go too.
The forest was so cold he could feel his nose growing icicles at the bottom. But he kept walking.
He kept walking until he couldn’t walk anymore.
And he lay down on the frozen ground.
And didn’t care as he turned so cold it felt hot.
Right as he felt he was about to leave this place… a warmth spread through him. What was this? It was so warm and comforting. He opened his eyes. He was enveloped in fire! Instinctively he jumped up trying to shake it off, but as he wasn’t getting burned he remembered what happened back in his old village. What is wrong with me? He thought. The fire enveloping him looked like simple clothes that he wore everyday. In fact it might be quite accurate to call it fire clothes. With his new fire clothes, he walked confidently forward. He didn’t know why he walked forth, but he just did. At some point the fire clothes went away, but he still had a heat inside. After what felt like hours and he had a deep hunger in his stomach, he heard a feminine voice, "Who are you?"
