In the depths of an unsettling and unfriendly atmosphere, Sol found himself deep within an unwelcoming dreamscape. He dreamt of something that haunted him for the rest of his day. Inside the dreamscape, Sol encounters something that he can’t recognize.
A shadowy, blood-soaked figure loomed before him, its presence both eerie and menacing. The said entity chased after him, trying to catch Sol with its spine-chilling fangs.
Sol hesitantly asks, “Who are you? After asking the said question, Sol unconsciously unhandled his sword.
Before he knew it, Sol launched a powerful attack against the entity, easily overwhelming it with sheer force.
The foe’s upper torso was disintegrated, and blood spewed in each direction, Some of the blood hit Sol’s face. Amidst the horror, Sol was utterly petrified by the scene, unable to tear his eyes away from this experience.
Sol experienced despair and revulsion, Paralyzed with fear, he couldn’t stand up properly and kneeled on the ground with freight.
“Wake up, please wake up.” He kept on muttering to himself but was unable to. Is this reality? Or a dream? The two questions keep bothering his mind. After a moment, he looked at the torso…
The body closely moved to his face, with its face recovered with blood and flesh still fresh. He was mortified with a face with no skin, and was knocked unconscious.
Did he wake up from the dream? He looked around frantically, trying to find peace and get away from this retched nightmare.
Looking around, he was in a bed—not just an ordinary bed but a royal one covered with vail and vintage design.
“Am I still dreaming? ”Sol asked with genuine fear on his face, but one answered his question.
He got up from the bed and moved the veil that was covering the bed so we could get out of the bed. He looked around the room, and there he found a picture, a sword, and a wedding ring.
He paid no disregard to the sword and wedding ring but instead analyzed what the picture contained. Sol sees a family of four that he thinks may be the queen, king, prince, and princess.
The faces in the picture were distorted with red blood and black scribbles after a few minutes of holding it and dropping the picture in shock.
After that, he looked around the room but still paid no regard to the sword and wedding ring, as if they were invincible to his eye.
Unable to “find” anything, he went outside, but all he could see was a long corridor with a creepy presence that resembled the skinless entity that attacked him at the end of the corridor on the left side.
So scared, he ran to the right side, trying to escape from it. He ran for hours, but he was still back where he started.
Sol frantically began thinking of a solution, and a door miraculously appeared in front of him. He then opened the door very quickly and entered the room. Sol sighed in relief once he entered the room.
When he tried to ease his mind and relax, someone slapped him intensely, leaving a red mark on his face. Sol looked at the person, and he saw a crown and figured it might be the king from the picture;
Sol tried to greet the king with the utmost respect, but before he tried to say good morning, the king said, “You disappoint me." Why would your mother give birth to a person like you?" and “All you do is bring misfortune and destruction; you should just die.”
"A wave of inexplicable fear washed over Sol, choking him with the urge to break down and weep."
“I’m sorry,” Sol said. But then a girl screamed for help, and the girl was a very familiar figure who felt like a loving family to him.
Amid the chaos, Sol found himself in a tender embrace with a girl whose presence brought a rare sense of warmth and safety. As she leaned in, her eyes filled with affection, he felt a surge of longing and connection.
Just as their lips were about to meet, the dream shattered with a sword stabbed right through his chest, leaving him drenched in blood and fainting. He awoke with his heart aching with the remnants of the dream’s intimacy.
Waking up with red eyes and drenched with sweat, he sighed in relief because the nightmare had come to an end. Sol got up from the bed and drank some water in the kitchen.
After drinking some water, he went to Heimdal’s room to tell Heimdal about the “nightmare” that he experienced.
“Heimdal, are you there? ”Sol said as he was knocking at his room.
No one responded to his question, so he just opened the door. Opening the door, he found an empty room with a messy bed in front of him. Sol thought that something had happened and went to search for him.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
As dawn broke, Sol ventured out into the quiet streets of Athensia, his mind still reeling from the dream that reeked of death.
He wandered through the town, the early morning chill adding to his unease. At a bustling cafeteria, he approached patrons with a mix of urgency and frustration, hoping for any news of Heimdal.
He approached a random person and asked, “Do you know who’s Heimdal? ”The person laughed and replied, "Yes, of course, everyone in this village knows about that boy.”
Sol then asked where he was if he happened to see him, but the person did not see him anywhere near the cafeteria and advised him to search for other areas.
Sol headed to the swordsmith's first, and when he arrived at the swordsmith's, he asked him about Heimdal’s whereabouts, but still, he found nothing. Sol thought about where he could be and thought about two areas:
He then went to the bakery, where the baker said that he didn’t see Heimdal anywhere; then he went to an arena he saw when they were going to Heimdal’s house. Upon entering the arena, he saw two people punching each other and a crowd cheering on them.
He saw a referee on the other side of the arena, so Sol tried to go to the referee to ask a question about where Heimdal went.
When he reached the referee, Sol asked if he had seen Heimdal anywhere. The referee replied, “I think I saw him heading outside to the fields.”
“Thanks,” Sol said. He was relieved that nothing had happened to Heimdal and hurriedly went to the fields.
Running toward the fields, he noticed a hooded person stalking him on the roofs. Regardless of the stalker, he still headed towards the fields, paying no attention to the hooded person.
Arriving at the fields filled with grass blowing with the wind and the color green filling his eyes, he finds Heimdal in the middle of the field, staring amidst the sky in confusion. Or Curiosity.
Sol approached Heimdal with a joyful smile and an upbeat attitude, screaming, “Heimdal!! What are you doing here? ”Heimdal replied, “Just thinking about stuff, you’re probably not interested. Anyway, what are you doing here? I thought you were still asleep.”
“I experienced a terrifying dream. It was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I was in this dark, eerie place, drenched in blood. There was this shadowy entity with fangs, chasing me. I was so scared, but I ended up fighting it. My powers just took over, and I disintegrated them with this overwhelming force.”
Sol explained with joy and happiness, but at the same time, he was scared it might happen again.
Heimdal was surprised and in shock and questioned, “That sounds intense. What else happened? ”
Sol continued the story: “After running away from the entity, I found myself in a royal bedroom with a picture that seemed to show a family—a queen, king, prince, and princess—but the faces were distorted with blood and scribbles. I felt trapped and couldn’t escape. I ended up running through a corridor, trying to avoid a skinless figure that kept appearing.”
Heimdal was listening with concern and was appalled; “How did it end? ”He asked.
Sol’s face grew somber, and he said, “I found myself in a room where a king—who looked like the one in the picture—criticized and scolded me, calling me a disappointment and saying I bring misfortune. I was overwhelmed with fear. Then, there was a girl who seemed familiar—someone I felt a deep connection with. As we were about to kiss, I felt a sword stab through my chest, and I woke up drenched in sweat.”
Heimdal placed a comforting hand on Sol’s shoulder. “That’s a really heavy dream. It sounds like it left quite an impression on you.”
Then suddenly Sol broke the tension in the atmosphere, saying with pride, “Well, I’m ok now because I’m the best and a little nightmare won’t affect me, so I’m way past it.”
Heimdal, being annoyed, sighed with disappointment and said, "Yeah, maybe I shouldn’t listen to you again when you do stuff like this.”
“Also, who was the girl that you almost kissed?” Heimdal asked.
“She was beautiful, with hair blue like an ocean, eyes crimson like a ruby, and a body like a model; I was shocked that a girl like her was in a creepy dream. Although she was the one who gave me warmth and safety in that dream filled with blood and terror,”
Heimdal listened intently as Sol recounted the girl he had encountered in his dream. As Sol described her, Heimdal’s eyes widened, a flicker of recognition crossing his face.
“Sol,” Heimdal said slowly, his voice filled with a mix of concern and urgency. “The girl you’re describing... She sounds like someone I’ve heard about before. Someone from Fantina.”
“Fantina?” Sol echoed, unfamiliar with the name. “Where is that?”
“It’s a city to the east,” Heimdal explained, his brow furrowed in thought. “A place known for its mysterious history and strange occurrences. I’ve heard rumors about a royal family there—one that matches what you saw in your dream. If the girl is who I think she is, then we need to find her.”
Sol nodded with a determined look in his eyes. “Then let’s go. If there are answers in Fantina, I need to find them.”
The two set off on an adventure and planned to go back to Heimdal’s house to get their stuff, but when they took off, they felt an ominous presence on their feet.
The two looked down, and a powerful punch landed on them. Sol and Heimdal were sent flying across the blue sky, finally hitting the ground, rolling, and being blasted away. The two hit a tree, and a few apples fell on them.”
“What is that?” The two asked as a shadowy figure emerged before them, its crimson eyes glowing with malice, a monstrous form barely resembling a human.
It moved with terrifying speed, lunging toward them with a snarl. The massive, shadowy figure launched another from the darkness, its eyes glowing with a malevolent light.
“Look out! ” Heimdal shouted, pushing Sol out of the way just as the monster’s claws raked the ground where they had been standing.
Sol quickly regained his footing, summoning his golden flames with fierce determination. “We can’t let this thing stop us. Luckily, I’m here, so this will be easy.”
