Chapter 1: A Falling Star of the Cosmos

Chapter 1: A Falling Star of the Cosmos

A brilliant, golden-like meteor blazed across the night sky, casting a shimmering trail over the distant city of Athensia. An explosion of color and light descended rapidly before striking the earth with a thunderous impact. On the crash site, a young boy lay sprawled on the ground, unconscious—his name was Sol. Moments later, his eyes fluttered open, confusion clouding his thoughts.

His mind was a blank canvas, wiped clean of all memories save one—his name. Sol. The word echoed in his thoughts, the only anchor in a sea of confusion. He tried to grasp at the fragments of his past, but they slipped away like sand through his fingers.

“Where am I?” Sol asks himself.

After an hour of pondering with himself, he still couldn’t remember anything. So he explores his surroundings for hours, annoyed at himself for still not remembering who he is and why he is here.

Trying to talk with a hoarse voice; he says, “What happened? ” A rabbit jumped at him after he said that and startled him after.

Suddenly, a radiant sphere of golden light materialized before him, humming with an otherworldly energy. It shot forward with a crackling sound, striking a rabbit that had wandered too close. The creature collapsed instantly, its fur singed by the blast. Sol’s eyes widened in awe as he realized the truth—he had somehow created that destructive force, a power he didn’t know he possessed.

Sol was overjoyed when he discovered his hidden potential. Fueled by excitement, he immediately rushed to a big oak tree nearby. He channeled his emotions, summoning the power that surged within him, eager to learn more about it.

He yelled, "Bang!”

Then he blasted a hole in the tree, burning it in the process. Hours and hours went by, and countless things were burned: trees, terrain, small creatures, you name it. His stomach growled with hunger, so he began scavenging the area for animals such as cows, realizing he had spent too much time exploring his newfound ability.

Moments later, he spotted a cow and decided to test his ability with "Blast," hoping to cook it with his power. However, instead of roasting the meat, he incinerated the cow, reducing it to ashes. Realizing he couldn't eat what was left, he decided to find a nearby city where he could buy food instead.

Two hours later, while searching for a nearby city, he stumbled upon a cave. Sol, being an explorer by nature, of course, had to go inside.

Driven by excitement, he dashed inside, completely forgetting the hunger and frustration he had felt just moments before.

Going inside the cave, an invisible barrier pushed him away. Confused and disappointed, Sol felt the hunger again, so he continued searching for a city.

Time went by, and he saw a city on the horizon. A smile spread across Sol's face as he felt a sense of relief in his stomach. With renewed energy, he continued his journey toward the city. Arriving at the entrance of Athensia, he saw someone who caught his attention, standing out amongst the crowd. He approached the said person and said, "Hello” with a friendly smile.

The person stares judgingly at Sol. An awkward silence follows, but the person suddenly yells, “Hi!” and Sol jumps in shook

"Woah, your clothes sure are... something,” Sol says. "Well, thank you. It's better to be unique than boring, right?” The person replies

Sol grinned, extending a hand. “I’m Sol. Nice to meet you, stranger!”

The other person raised an eyebrow. His expression, a mix of amusement and skepticism. “Heimdal,” he replied, shaking Sol’s hand. “You’ve got a lot of energy for someone wandering around in the middle of the night.”

Sol laughs, "Of course! Even though my name is Sol, I always rule the night!" Heimdal stares in disagreement and says, “How so?”

Sol, being annoyed, demonstrates his power and a ball of energy appears in front of them and explodes. Gasping and struggling in the smoke, Sol says, “Did you see that?”

Heimdal replies, "How can I see that when you've blinded me?" Sol, still annoyed, says, "Well, let's see what you can do then. Shall we?"

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

Heimdal looks at Sol straight in the eye, and suddenly Sol hears a voice: “Can you hear me?”

Sol, shocked by the voice, tries to look around to find it in his surroundings. A second later, he hears another voice say, “Look at how stupid you look.”

Sol knew immediately and looked at Heimdal and said, "Woah, you can speak to me!! Are you a witch?” Heimdal replied, "No.”

Moments pass, and they ask each other several questions. Heimdal says, “You look like a warrior; what weapon do you use?”

Sol says, "Well, that’s an interesting question. I think I kind of forgot what weapon I use.” Heimdal replies, “Let’s find some weapon and try to test your skills; maybe you’ll remember it.”

The two headed out to the blacksmith and tried to find several weapons, like a spear, bow, sword, axe, and catalyst. After buying the weapons, they took a training dummy with them and went out to an open field.

First, Sol tries the spear and launches an attack on the training dummy. He successfully managed to land three hits, but after that, he tripped and cut himself near the thigh.

Heimdal sighs. “Let’s get that spear away from you, shall we?” Heimdal hands the bow to Sol.

Heimdal moves the training dummy 6 meters away from Sol after moving away from the training dummy, and Sol prepares to fire the arrow but misses astronomically. Heimdal laughed like a maniac and teased him; Sol, being annoyed, broke the bow and burned it.

“Just give me the next weapon!” Sol says annoyed.

After a minute, Heimdal stopped laughing and handed an axe to Sol.

Sol picked up the axe and tried to slice the training dummy using only one arm, but rather than slicing the dummy, he struggled to launch the axe and almost broke his arm.

“Wow, you’re even more stupid than I thought,” Heimdal said. "Ok, whatever you say, captain knows it all," Sol replied mockingly.

Heimdal gets the catalyst and gives it to Sol to test if he’s more of a mage type.

When Sol picked up the catalyst, it didn’t even budge when he tried to open it; both of them stared awkwardly at the catalyst. Heimdal took the catalyst and handed a sword to Sol.

Sol grabbed the sword in Heimdal's hands and launched an attack. Sol glowed golden and produced hot flames in his body, then launched an attack on the dummy.

Before Heimdal could even blink, Sol pierced the dummy, producing golden flames in his path. Heimdal was shocked and tried to compliment him, but before he could even say it,

Sol launched another piercing attack on the dummy and proceeded to bombard it with flaming attacks, disintegrating the dummy. Sol then stopped, and the golden flames around him vanished. He was shocked by what he could do.

“Woah!!! Did you see that? I was awesome! ” Sol said excitedly. “What was that?” Heimdal replied.

“I don’t know; I just started moving unconsciously,” Sol said, confused. "Well, you should try to do that again so you can master it” Heimdal responded.

“I didn’t even know what I did,” Sol commented. “Don’t worry, I saw everything,” Heimdal answered.

Heimdal watched in awe as Sol’s body became a blur of motion. “It was like a shooting star,” Heimdal described, his voice filled with wonder. “You moved so fast, leaving a trail of golden flames in your wake. The sword strikes came in rapid succession—six precise hits, forming a star-shaped pattern that burned through everything in its path.”

After learning how to do it, they took another training dummy and tested it again. He then successfully launched the move. But he was exhausted and began panting.

“You should try to use that move if you run out of choices because I think that move heavily consumes your energy,” Heimdal stated. “I can probably use it two more times with a body like mine; I could never get exhausted fast,” Sol said with pride.

"Sure, I’ll believe you,” Heimdal replied sarcastically.

The two went back to Athensia, going to Heimdal’s house to rest before going to separate rooms. “Also, where do you live, Sol? I don't see you anywhere around here,” Heimdal questioned. “ I don’t know,” Sol responded with confusion on his mind.

Heimdal glanced at Sol, noticing the exhaustion in his eyes. “You’ll figure it out eventually. For now, get some rest—you’ve had a long day.” He offered a reassuring smile. “Good night, Sol.”

Sol nodded, a tired but grateful smile on his face. “Good night, Heimdal.”

Sol proceeded to enter his room and tried to close his eyes in a cold and dark atmosphere. There he lies in bed, wondering about who he is still, and after an hour of thinking, and falls asleep with curiosity on his mind.
