“See you have been working so hard that even in your dream you have a storyline developed for next project. You have to get a life Kate. Let’s plan a vacation ASAP.” Emily scoffs in disbelief of what she has heard from her colleague.

“Oh please, I don’t want to go on any kind of trip as of now. In fact I’m hating the word trip.” Kate replies with revulsion still lingering from her dream of yesterday.

“Trip anyone said a trip. I am up for it. Where are we going guys” Josh chipped in between the conversation with heap load of energy early in the morning like he always has.

“Hey where you get that energy from Bro? Its only 10 AM” Emily blurted out the word as she took a sip of coffee and placed in her desk. “For some of us, the day just started. ”

“Yeah whatever, get back to work guys. We have to hand in the project before the meeting.” Kate rushes everyone back to work, as a team lead she needs to be the responsible one.

The day goes by, Kate and team presents the work which is well received by all and is put into consideration among the ideas to be forwarded to the CEO.

It almost bed time, like Every day, she has been staring at her ceiling completely lost in her thoughts but this time it’s the dream from yesterday that’s keeping her occupied. She couldn’t believe if it was for real or just a dream. But how can a dream be this lucid? And if it was a dream shouldn’t it go the way I would have wanted or desired? Why did I got abandoned even in dream? Was it for real or did I hallucinate stuffs? Am I going crazy?

Watching the time in the nightstand 10:10, she closes her eyes to remove clear of all those questions that has been disturbing her peace of mind.

A loud sound buzzed right through her ears, almost like a fire alarm making Kate abruptly wake up and sit straight in bed. Frantically looking around she discovers herself again in her room, from the past.

This cannot be happening. She squishes her eyes in disbelief, how can this happen. She tries and slap herself.

She goes back to find the diary and see what and how things have turned out to be after her dream of yesterday or the abandonment she suffered.

“This was the worst bday of my life. I cannot imagine how a one wrong decision turned my whole world upside down….”

She read along the lines totally feeling helpless for her past self. Not only Kate was duped by Rachel but on the way back home, She had encountered Ryan who was disgusted to find out that she lied and ditched spending time with her only best friends to go on trip with their anti’s even lying to her grandparents. Ryan infuriated by her action warned her to never speak to him again and also replaced her from the Quiz Team. This made her feel even guiltier than ever, just wanting to spend a time with her crush. Kate had been disheartened by the incident and not able to share this devastating incident with anyone made her even more miserable. Her performance in school was degrading. She had been lying to her grandma about everything and pretending to be fine all along.

“This has to stop, I cannot let my past self, live like a depressed teen” Kate decides to set thing right since it was her decision that caused chaos in her perfectly calm life of past. She heads out to find her grandma, shares everything and apologies for her behavior from past few months.

“Oh my sweet child come here. I am so glad you talked about this. I knew something was off. My ever cheerful daughter was quiet and gloomy all of a sudden. You had me all worried my baby.” She embraced Kate in a warm hug.

She went back to her room to call Ryan and apologize for her actions. It was prom night and Kate had previously decided to skip going there after being dejected by her actual friends and so called friends but now the case was different. Kate decides to show up and make amendments with the real ones since that’s how adults solve problem and she was to make proper decision when she got chance. She decides to meet Ryan and others in person and make sincere apology. They are her friends obviously, its them who would understand and if they don’t may be she needs new one.

Her grandma enters her room with a dress in her hand struggling to keep it in a fold to surprise her.

“I was by the market the other day and saw this beautiful dress since you were all gloomy I thought this dress would cheer you up. Also you have a prom to attend to.” It was a beautiful pink sleeveless ruffle gown which must have cost her a lot.

“Grand ma, You didn’t have to buy that. It must have cost you hundred thousand bucks”

“Oh no, my dear. You barely even ask for a thing. And I got hefty discount on this one. Now come on get dressed and show me how my baby looks.”

She watches herself in awe totally taken aback by how beautiful this dress made her look. She had never once considered herself to be the beautiful type, she would rather be addressed as the smart type because little did she knew she wasn’t that attractive, Like Rachel, she was the ideal type for boys. It didn’t bothered her at all but sometimes she wished if only she were as beautiful as those girls then she could be the one besides Skyler or at least he would flirt with her as well. She shrugs off her thoughts and accepts her beauty in her own shape.

This felt good. Reliving this prom night moment, which Kate had skipped in the past because she was too occupied with her other works. She wondered why she skipped the prom.

“Oh yes, I had no date.” She had even rejected Ryan’s offer with the hope that maybe Skyler would ask her. Haha! What was I even thinking. Anyways, she decided to attend the prom alone to enjoy the night with dance and foods.

Her grandma squeals in happiness to see Kate all lively and glowing in the gown. She then waves goodbye to her grandparents and takes a cab to the community hall where the program was scheduled. The hall was filled with beautiful girls and boys all dressed up for the night of their life as they say. It was quite refreshing for Kate as she had been a party girl, but lately she hadn’t gotten a chance to go anywhere except from office. On her way, she finds everyone stealing glances at her. This dress did seem to make her look attractive. Unlike other time, she wouldn’t be all shy and coy about it rather she walked confidently towards the ballroom. As she entered the room, Skyler stopped in his feet in front of her watching in shock his lips parted in surprise to see the beauty that stood in front of him. They locked eyes for a while, and stared at each other with awkward silence until Brandon coughed to bring back Skyler to conscience which was lost by seeing beautiful Kate.

“Umm. You look amazing ” He compliments Kate moving forward holding his hand out for her to step down from the stairs which lead to dance floor. “May I have the honor?”

Kate as startled as she was to be greeted by her crush in the entrance but was skeptical about going with him for the dance considering how scarred she was from the incident of the trip, how she was duped by them. It was not entirely Skyler’s fault however he belonged to that group and the last thing she wanted to do was to involve in any kind of interaction with Rachel or her friends or moreover his boyfriend definitely someone to be avoided was him. Seeing puzzled look on Kate’s face, he softly takes her hand and brings her to the side to ask for forgiveness.

“I am so sorry about that night Katherine, I was not aware of the evil deed of Rachel. Everyone thought you would come but Rachel told us that you couldn’t afford the trip. Later when I heard of how she tricked you…. I felt terrible to have caused you the trouble. I was embarrassed to face you.”

The genuineness in the statement from Skyler made Kate feel sorry for him. It was not even his fault.

“You know I hold you in such high regards and have always wanted to be friends with you but you were different league, I never thought I would ever interest you in anything. I know you must be so mad at me.”

Kate was flustered by this sudden confrontation from Skyler. All this time she had been crushing on him dreaming of the day when she will be talking to him and now that they talk, he confesses his fondness for her. He said he held me in high regards, does this means he likes me??

“Its okay Skyler. Let bygones be bygones” She replies. That’s it. That’s all you could say. Kate internally scolds herself for not being able to hold a conversation with him as this was one of the chance to take and she should have been confident enough to woo him.

“Hope we could start over from now onwards.” He held out his hand for her to shake but she stands frozen in her position. It’s better to not involve with him though it was tempting, him constantly trying to make up with her, in the back of her mind Kate was still worried about having to deal with great disdain from Rachel and others for “trying to steal her boyfriend. ” I don’t want to create any problem for my past self.

“I know you worry about Rachel but she and I are not together anymore. We broke up right after the trip.”

One after another, Kate was bombarded with truths and facts which was supposedly sad for one but joyful to another. She couldn’t help but feel happy for herself as he was not only single but also interested in being together with her. “I am sorry to hear that” she replies.

“Yes. I mean it’s not even your fault.” She refuses to hold him accountable for something Rachel did.

“Shall we dance?” Skyler once again took a chance to ask her to dance hoping that she might say yes this time. All this time Kate was concerned about not getting a bit of attention from Skyler however it turned out to be out of nervousness he couldn’t strike a conversation.

Finally, Kate accepted his invitation for dance and followed his lead to the dance floor. They both danced in sync every move felt natural both engulfed by the emotion leaned in for the kiss.

As Skyler’s lips touched Kate’s felt surge of tingling sensation passing through her body. Skyler tightened the grip on her waist and leaned in more to taste her lips while Kate’s hand went on to hold his neck, the dim light and soft music making the moment magical experience for her.
