Chapter 4: The Possible Invasion

Finally, a terrifying figure appeared. He was two meters tall, had goat hooves instead of feet and a face reminiscent of a kindly old man. His short white hair suggested no hint of danger. But strangely, he did not walk on the ground. Instead, he hovered in the air. What added to Carl's fear was the overwhelming aura that emanated from him. The ground began to crack, the air heated up, and the plane in the sky seemed to fail and crash. He did not make a single attack. That was the effect of his aura alone.

This terrible scene Carl saw caused fear to creep into his heart. But this fear did not settle in his heart, for the fire of determination had burned it away. On the contrary, this scene showed that it was possible to reach realms far above what was called a 7-star warrior.

At this point, it is necessary to explain the power system in this world. People in this world are born with a seed in their soul. This seed grows with them throughout their lives. When this seed matures - which, by the way, no one knows how or why - it will turn into a starry sky. However, these stars are illusory and barely have the ability to shine. This is where the training journey begins. Depending on many factors, different people will condense different stars. The shapes and colors of the stars will vary.

Unfortunately, no one has been able to discover the reason for this or find out what these different forms symbolize. On the other hand, it has been shown over time that the colors symbolize the extent of the talent. Even if talent does not determine everything, it opens up a wide range of possibilities for everyone.

However, people cannot be blamed for not uncovering these secrets. The recorded history of this world does not go beyond two thousand years. The first appearance of this power can also be traced back two thousand years. What is interesting, however, is that this system enables people to gain enormous power in addition to longevity.

Humans who have reached the 7-star stage can live for almost 300 years, which makes recorded history very short. Some history books talk about people who have passed this level, but there is no explicit mention of what happened to them or what exactly the next world is. In the end, one could only doubt the history books, but the scene before him proved that there are worlds higher than a 7-star warrior.

In this context, it is worth mentioning that Carl, a boy who is not yet twenty years old, has reached the 4-star stage, which indicates the extent of his talent. These are the same stars that helped him in his battle against the wandering spirit. His father and grandfather before him all reached the 7-star level, so he knows their aura and the amount of power they possess. Therefore, he can confidently say that this aura has surpassed his father's by tens or even hundreds of times.

As soon as the old man came out, he began to examine his surroundings with his crimson eyes. Then he took a few deep breaths, as if he had never breathed such fresh air before. Carl continued to watch him, his head full of question marks. The old man's behavior had puzzled him.

This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.

The old man in the black robe pulled a stick out of nowhere and waved it gently, but what he did was not so gentle. All the houses and buildings around him were obliterated and the ground was leveled. It became a single plain that stretched for thousands of meters, devoid of buildings or life! This terrifying scene, where a simple wave could make a huge swathe of land and its inhabitants disappear, gives you goosebumps and makes your scalp tingle.

Carl, however, showed no reaction other than excitement. He imagined reaching a similar level and launching a similar attack. One cannot blame Carl. What he learned during his upbringing in the royal palace can be summarized in one sentence: "Interests first!" It doesn't matter how much death or destruction results, what matters is how much interest is achieved. Although thousands of people died, this did not affect his feelings. They are people from another world with whom he has no connection.

It is unimaginable for someone to have such cold and unfeeling emotions at such a young age, but it is ultimately a combination of several elements that cannot be ignored, such as his upbringing, his personality and the nature of his environment.

Meanwhile, the old man with crimson eyes continued to move at a speed that the human eye could not perceive. It seemed as if he was teleporting forward. He continued his cruel orgy of destruction, advancing and slaughtering every city in his path. He even came to a huge city that could not be compared to any ordinary city, but before entering the city, he turned to the sky and smiled. Then he spoke as if addressing the air, "I found you, you snoop."

His gaze was directed at Carl, but Carl knew that he meant the wandering soul, not himself! So he felt a sense of anticipation for what would happen next.

The old man raised his index finger and a crimson beam shot out of it, finally hitting the wandering soul but not hurting it. Looking at the old man, you could see that his finger had melted away and only the bone remained.

Carl didn't understand what had happened, but he needn't have worried because the answer came from the mouth of the old man in the black robe. "Now that I've given you a tracking mark, show me where you're going to lead me! Hahaha!" His laughter filled the air, making Carl furious and want to punch someone.

So he continued to see the memories, but what troubled him even more was that this wandering soul's memories of the invasion had reached their end. But the last part of the memories summarized this soul's journey through the vast universe, searching for a suitable body that could take him in and bring him back to life. Until he finally reached the edge of the world Carl lives in, but the moment he broke through the barrier and entered the world, the crimson ray that had struck the wandering spirit reappeared, but it seemed as if the spirit did not notice or care.

"If I had to guess why the ray reappeared, the best guess is that our world is currently being targeted."

"I do not know when this strange man will arrive here! So time is running out."

After Carl had spoken these two sentences, he sighed and felt a tremendous pressure on his shoulders. At best, this possible invasion would give him a headache for years to come; at worst, the invasion could come sooner than expected.

So, in a desperate attempt, he tried to communicate with the orb to see if he could calculate the time of the invaders' arrival. Unfortunately, the orb reported that the data was insufficient.

Therefore, he had to try to increase his strength as quickly as possible to prepare for the upcoming battle.

While he was still pondering these disturbing things, he heard a knock at the door and then the voice of a maid: "Your Highness, I have brought the food you asked for."

Then the maid entered, but this maid was different. She looked like a young woman in her early twenties with an oval face, red cheeks and bright blue eyes. The maid's clothes looked good on her, as if she had been born for them! But Carl did not give her another glance. He spoke coldly: "Put the dishes down here and you can go. If I need anything else, I will ring the bell!"

The maid bowed low and left without saying a word of protest or anything of the sort. The servants had long since become accustomed to the prince's cold temperament. He only showed his hot temper and colorful emotions in front of the queen. In front of the others, however, he showed his cold temperament and emotionless behavior.
