THE REASON WHY BELPHEOBE COULDN’T JUST HAVE ANOTHER ROYAL CHILD AFTER FINLEY

This plays into one of the many reasons that Belpheobe tried to escape to another world with Finn.

Biologically the royalty can only have one child, this is the sort of check and balance system that was put in place by the world they live in.

As long as the magic system recognizes that there are two ‘active’ royals then the royal’s bodies are essentially locked up and their reproductive abilities are stunted.

Since Finley was technically born as a fairy, the system registered him as an active fairy his mother couldn't just have another child. So, she was pressured to kill him by a radical faction in the Queendom.

There were also complications about the child itself (being the product of two of the most powerful representatives of two races) and it having access to both races specialties.

Belpheobe was resistant to kill her child (as mothers generally tend to be) and she couldn’t just give him over to the goblins for protection, both for the risk of giving them the chance to brainwash her child against the faires and because it wouldn’t solve the fundamental problem of her not being able to produce another child to continue the royal line.

She thought to put him in the human world and raise him there as doing so would both get him out of the magic systems ‘eye’ as well as would keep him safe.

Creating a new royal takes a lot of energy and magic as well as time.

The gestation period for royalty takes a lot longer than normal and it only gets longer depending on how powerful the fairy will be.

For example, Heloise spent 70 yrs. carrying Belphoebe.

The mother also has to consciously divert several tons of consciously purified magic towards the child.

As for why the previous queen, Heloise doesn’t just awaken and Rule until she can have another child.

Heloise has already been at ‘Rest’ for a few centuries. Even just awakening from the intense spell that is ‘rest’ would take a lot of energy that she may not be able to fully recover from until more than at least half a century has passed.

There is also the fact that she may not want to and doesn't need to because there is already an ‘active royal’
