The voice cut through the air sending shivers through Darron’s spine, he looked down the hallway to see where it originated from but to little avail.
As there was no longer any goblin in the hallway and just the ghoul that was eating a corpse he simply sprinted past it, trying to locate where the voice was.
“Someone!! Anyone! Help please!!!” The cry for help came from the right of darron, inside a classroom with the door wide open he ran through it. Inside was a shorter girl who looked to be in the 9th grade as she was small and had a more childish face. Her clothes were ripped and she has clearly been crying.
Surrounding the small girl was 3 goblins, all laughing in their ear screeching fashion while pointing their daggers towards her.
Common sense told Darron to run as he knew he wouldn’t be able to take on three goblins at the same time, however he was morally unable to complete that and quickly fired a mana bolt towards the goblin closest to him. As he didn’t charge it for long his accuracy was off and it struck the goblin in the lower back, having it fall onto it’s knees.
It cried out in pain but it didn’t do much damage as it got up almost immediately and gave a murderous stare towards Darron, the other two also turned to look as someone now posed a threat to them. The goblins quickly spread out and began to encircle darron.
As he was still by the door entrance darron quickly closed the door so that no other goblin would interfere. Pointing his dagger at the three goblins his hand started to visibly shake, since the goblins saw this they started to smile, assuming he was scared and weak, just like the girl. As a result they made some noises which could be considered communication and one of them turned to the girl.
Since she saw the goblin turn towards her the small girl began to cry out again, begging Darron to save her.
“Please!! Help me! I’ll do anything!” The previously flowing tears continued to flow, maybe a little faster as she held onto a glimmer of hope that the boy in front of her may save her from this terror.
Not responding he began to charge another mana bolt, since the goblins saw a light emitting from his hand they became cautious but moved forward nonetheless. Step after step they continued towards him as the other walked at a faster pace towards the girl causing her to beg even more.
Darron let out a sigh as her cries were getting annoying and fired another Mana bolt towards the goblin he previously hit, the bolt flew too fast for the goblin to react in time and struck it on the left side of it’s chest, falling back into a desk it smacked it’s head against the desk.
The other goblin looked towards it’s companion who wasn't moving. It looked back at Darron and charged towards him, unable to charge a mana bolt in time he leaped to the side, dodging the lunge of the goblin who held a dagger.
Darron began to charge his mana bolt and after a short time fired it, taking a shot to the leg as it fell onto one knee with a small grunt as it endured the pain. Launching another mana bolt towards the head of the crippled goblin it finally died.
As he looked towards the girl who was still screaming she seemed to be pushed completely to the wall as she was attempting to run from the last goblin. Charging another mana bolt he was instead greeted with a notification.
ALERT!
You don’t have enough mana for this ability!
Current mana: 3/140
It quickly disappeared as soon as darron finished reading and started to panic, the goblin was within reach of the girl, he charged towards the girl but as he was nearly on the other side of the classroom he couldn’t make it in time.
The dagger plunged into the girl's neck, her screams had turned to loud sounds of choking on blood and coughing. Darron continued to run and side kicked the goblin’s head, sending it away from the girl. Using the dagger in his left hand he thrust it into it’s neck and continued for 4 more stabs. Sure of it’s death he looked towards the girl who was grasping at her neck in attempt to stop the bleeding but failing.
She scrambled towards Darron so he could save her but he simply looked down, unable to do anything with the amount of blood gushing out. He was no doctor but he assumed it had pierced an artery. She had finally reached him with pleading eyes and making incomprehensible noises from her mouth, after a couple seconds of this she realized he wasn’t going to do anything and simply sat there with a blank expression.
Giving up she fell back and slowly bled to death.
Darron sat down, leaning on a desk. He stayed like that for minutes, simply trying to make sense of the situation, wondering what he could have done differently. Replaying the image of her reaching out to him as to save her. Being powerless, unable to do anything, useless, weak, pathetic, scum, trash… These thoughts continuously bombarding him as he stared at the girl in front of him.
After staying this was for nearly an hour he had finally calmed down to the point he could think rationally. He made a vow to be so strong nothing would be able to stop him, not even god who put him through this mess.
Finalizing his thoughts he finally noticed the notification in front of him.

After Darron finished reading through it the screen went back to the stat screen.
“4, Harmony. 2 Wisdom, 4 Intellect”.
His reasoning for this was he needed mana but also damage as they are both lacking. With the new boosts to mana regeneration it takes around an hour to fully recharge all his mana.
He decided to wait for half his mana to recharge and then he would go out to hunt. He needed strength and this was the only way he could think of in this game like world.
After half an hour of planning how to fight without mana he decided on only using it if it’s desperately needed.
Opening the classroom door and walking out he didn’t see anything and looked down where he was before, to see the ghoul now staggering around, seemingly able to fall over at anytime.
The ghoul had his back to Darron so he took his chance and ran towards it, dagger in hand. The ghoul started to turn towards Darron but it was too slow. He lunged with the dagger and thrust it into the ghoul. The ghoul continued to turn towards him so quickly pulling out the dagger he took a step back. It let out a yell or some sort but didn’t seem to react to the dagger as it charged towards Darron, claws outstretched.
As it was slow and staggering he easily sidestepped it and plunged his dagger into the other side of it’s neck this time, instead of pulling it out he sliced through to the back of the neck.
This resulted in the head losing its structure and toppling to the side, the rest of it’s neck gave out causing it to fall off it’s body. Still making noises decapitated Darron realized the brain needs to be punctured.
Making a final stab towards the head a notification came.

Congratulations!
You have slain: Level 2 Ghoul

Looking around he didn’t see anything else in the old building. He turned around and started to walk through the unexplored building.
The older part of the school is actually detached from the main building, it has 2 floors and had around 12 classrooms in it with lockers in the hallways on both sides. The design is a square in which you can walk all around continuously with an exit on opposite sides and a staircase on of them.
Darron had completely cleared out the entire first floor only having to use his magic once, there was a total of 11 ghouls and 21 Goblins. Which he had dealt with one by one until a group of 3 goblins came behind him which he dealt with using his mana bind.
Since this mess happened on lunch break almost everyone was in the main building so there was only 11 human bodies including the 2 he found at the start and the girl.
He took an hour break as the entire hunt had lasted a little over 2 hours and he was exhausted. From the hunting he had leveled up 4 times giving him 30 stats to spend in which he put 12 of them into intellect, 8 into harmony and 4 into wisdom. He brought up his status window to see his accomplishments.

“Fuck!!!” Darron yelled out as he hit a locker with his fist. He totally forgot about his ability mana charge and the time he wasted on regenerating mana made him extremely upset.
He casted it leaving his status open to see the results. His body glowed a faint blue as he sat and channeled the ability, it regenerated at an extremely fast rate of a little over 25 per minute. Stamina also regenerated pretty fast at 10 per minute so after 10 minutes of resting he was ready to conquer the second floor as well.
He walked up the stairs which had a turn, looking at the second flight of stairs he didn’t see anything and proceeded up. As soon as he could see the hallway he made sure nothing was there, after confirming so, he walked up and looked down both sides to see an empty hallway.
He walked all the way down until he reached the turn but still found nothing, he became extremely cautious and slowly continued onwards, checking every class along the way.
As he was reaching his second turn a noise came from behind him.
“Hey, what you doin here?” A young boy who was probably a grade 10 called out to Darron, he had blood all over his body and rips everywhere but didn't seem to be hurt at all.
“I don't know, what am I doing?” Darron responded with a sarcastic question of his own.
“Ohh you're real funny man, now I'm just gonna let you know I'm level 4, you're at best level 2, probably just a level one and I will crush you in a fight. Show some respect.”
“Hmm, I see I see, anyway how'd you get to level 4? I don't see any corpses around here”.
“Ahh well, seeing as you don't like me I'll tell you” the boy took in a deep breath before talking again.
“People. There was around 10 and I killed them all. Ahh my class is so overpowered nobody was able to even touch me, good times! Actually why don't we make our own good time?!?”
The small boy had a huge smile on his face as he finished talking. Pulling out a pair of daggers he charged at darron.
He was extremely fast and darron knew he couldn't fully dodge his strikes like he did the goblins and ghouls.
“Mana bind” as he said his ability a blue chain flew from his hand wrapping around the small boys legs causing him to fall.
He fell directly onto his face causing him to cry out as he didn't brace for the fall.
“Mana bolt”
“Mana bolt”
Darron sent the 2 abilities at the boys legs so he wouldn't be able to run again like before.
“Now let's have a calm talk, Mr.Big shit level 4. Personally I would like to know more about what you did on this floor and where the monsters are.”
The small boy refused to say anything or even look at darron, as a result he got pretty angry and stepped onto his hand.
“Ow ow ow ow, stop stop stop stop!! I'll talk okay, I'm sorry” after getting off his hand the bit quickly started to massage it.
“About the monsters there was around 8 goblins which we fought against, there was 15 of us and 4 died to them.”
I managed to kill 3 myself and ended up getting a class selection along with 3 others.
Seeing this one person who didn't kill any grabbed one of their knives and stabbed a bear by girl saying something about how he wanted one to. That guy killed another person resulting in a full blown battle.
People were dying everywhere and I probably killed 3 or so until t was just me and that other guy who started it. We fought and I won, so I was the last alive but I wanted more power.
So when I heard you coming I attacked you. That's all I know, happy?”
Darron thought about it for a while before finally answering.
“So you can gain xp by killing people as well?” This question made the boy shudder as he quickly realized what Darron meant by that sentence.
“Mana bolt”

congratulations!
You have levelled up!
You have levelled up!
You have received the chance to morph your mana!
You can learn a random ability!
To morph mana say “morph screen”
To select your ability say “ability screen”
Darron didn't know what the text meant by morph screen but went to it anyway.
Welcome to the morph zone!
As this is your first time we will explain a little.
This is where you can become a real warlock instead of a simple mana warlock. This stage requires a lot of luck as your mana will change from a pure form to something of your choice. Depending on the choice you may experience different feelings so be aware.
The trial takes around an hour so be safe while you do this! You can morph into anything you want with as many attempts as you need but once you have one morphed into your unable to change it again.
To start say “morph name” (ie “morph Ice”)
Darron thought about what he could change it to as he walked into a nearby classroom, locking the door behind him and ensuring nothing was in there.
Thinking through all the powers he's ever seen in shows he began to think of one p**ce and all the type of humans. Such as lightning, rubber, and all the others before finally deciding on what he was going to morph into.
“Morph Darkness”
