The CAS categorizes the world as types of essence, and it presents the choices of the environment to the user. The choices are the three most prominent elements in the vicinity, but a user can pick any element they are compatible with provided there is a sufficient amount. - Every essence will impact the attributes of the user, just as the attributes are how the user impacts the world. Each simple element will improve a user's attributes by 4 points, whereas a complex element will expand by more. Examples of complex essences are the Mirrorbell Fragments and Trinch's rib bone. So far I have only displayed simple elements. This is because of the relatively new nature of Earth as a part of the System, as well as the fact that complex essences are rare.

- The type of essence will alter the way an attribute is changed, particularly the psychological component of the shift. Each attribute can impact the user's psychology and personality (Zoe has been affected by Metal's Willpower and Might) but the change depends on the essence source. For example, Blood Vitality is different from that of Earth's. Though both contribute the same type and number of attribute points, a Blood essence user will be more focused on the selfish, consumptive side of growth, whereas an Earth essence user will be more focused on stability and support of all.
