Jae-sung stood in amazement. The wire had been moving on its own volition. While he was thinking of certain movements it had followed. It seems he could only control the movements as long as it stayed attached to him. Strands of wire had been coiling around a water bottle. In the next moment, pop, it had bursted making a mess of the room leaving water on the floor. However he paid no attention and came to a realization. The body augmentation could be displaced as well.
The scythes were normally limited to the same volume as his arms. This time they could extend to the size of longswords. He had noticed improved control, being able to morph and distort his body further. Dedicating more time to understand his abilities he came to a conclusion. It was if he had a certain mass that was allocated inside of him. Limiting how much he could use his abilities. He could dismiss the skill making it disappear, however he was still constrained by his mana.
Jae-sung had in mind the perfect culprit to test his newfound powers on. Ideals such as avenging his fallen comrades did not resonate with him, it just so happened that his motives coincided. There were other activities he had to attend to first though.
Mandatory combat practice was soon to be called upon. Jae-sung believed that this should be a nice warm-up. Without further notice he had gotten the rest he desperately had needed.
Jae-sung made his way to the arena, a massive structure made of ancient, enchanted stones that seemed to radiate with a powerful energy. The arena was located in the heart of the Academy and was used for duels between supernaturals. As he walked towards the entrance, he could feel the eyes of the other super beings on him, studying him, sizing him up.
He could see a group of warriors practicing with swords, their movements precise and deadly. He could see a group of sorcerers conjuring bolts of lightning, their power crackling in the air. He could see a group of shapeshifters, their bodies contorting and twisting in impossible ways. They soon all cleared the area and Jae-sung attentively examined.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
The arena was once again filled with the excited chatter of the supernaturals, all eager to see the next battle. The two fighters stood at opposite ends of the arena, they announced the woman's name as Seo-yun and the man's name was Min-ho.
Seo-yun was a slender woman, with blonde hair that had pink highlights. She had almond-shaped eyes that were a deep blue, and her skin was fairly pale. She wore a long grey robe that was adorned with gold trim.
Min-ho was a broad-shouldered man, with a thick beard and a shaved head. He was heavily muscled, and his skin was a deep bronze color. He wore black leather armor and carried a massive battle axe that was nearly as tall as he was. His powers were that of super strength, able to wield weapons with ease and deliver devastating blows.
The crowd grew silent as the two fighters began to circle each other, sizing each other up. Min-ho was the first to attack, swinging his massive battle axe with all his might. The two collided with a deafening crash, sending sparks flying in every direction. Seo-yun quickly summoned a holy shield, blocking the attack and sending Min-ho flying backwards.
Min-ho quickly regained his footing and charged towards Seo-yun, his battle axe swung to the side. Seo-yun unleashed a holy ray of light, blinding Min-ho and making him stumble. Seo-yun took the opportunity to unleash a series of holy spells, barrages of holy energy that pelted Min-ho from all sides. Min-ho was able to dodge and block some of the spells with his axe, but many of them hit their mark, however he was completely unfazed. With a massive leap Min-ho came crashing down right towards Seo-yun head, her shield had broken.
Seo-yun summoned a holy angel, a being of light that stood between her and Min-ho. Four wings sprouted from the angels back, with a white sash covering its eyes. The angel was wielding a divine katana and it clashed with Min-ho's battle axe. Min-ho was no match for the holy angel, and with a single swift motion, the angel struck Min-ho down with the divine katana.
The crowd erupted in cheers, as Min-ho lay motionless on the ground. Jae-sung took note of how there were strong beings and that he must continue his improvement. He wasn't able to dwell on it for too long as it was his turn next.
