"With hesitation, Jae-sung decided to investigate the source of the scream. It was a young woman with a bow, whom he recognized from before, along with two unawakened companions, their party heavily wounded, currently losing the battle to a hoard of goblins. From what he could see, it had to be at least ten. Joining the battle, trying to fend them off, Jae-sung bellowed:
"Run!"
Together, they managed to thin the herd, taking out two goblins, all the while making some distance between the pack. The goblins began to shout as they continued their chase. Suddenly, trees began to snap and fall over at great speed, as a giant beast broke out of the forest, running over the bow woman. In the next fell swoop, a heavy sound rang out:
"Thunk"
The beast had slammed one of the other party members with its club, turning him into a bloody pile of mush. As Jae-sung began to realize what had been occurring, he saw the ogre standing in front of him, the evolved version of the goblin, extremely rare in these parts, certainly quite unfortunate luck.
Distracted, one of the goblins managed to stab him in the side. Staggered from the pain, he needed to act quickly to avoid certain death. He thought of a unique way to use his new skill, unsure of whether it would work or not, it was his best bet. Jae-sung began infusing his legs with metal, while putting an image of animals with immense speed into his mind. His shin bones began to crack and bend backwards. Bones breaking was a very unpleasant feeling, but due to the high adrenaline, Jae-sung barely managed to stay conscious.
Stolen novel; please report.
Running faster than he had ever ran before, he passed by the last party member, hoping he would prove to be enough of a distraction for him to escape. Greedily, he snatched the bow off the corpse of the girl, zooming through the trees. To be fair, he wasn't helping out of charity, he expected to be compensated after the ordeal. Looking down at the dagger, he made sure not to pull it out, as he would bleed out faster. Seeing the exit portal, it was all that was left on his mind. Finally crossing over, Jae-sung collapsed from both exhaustion and mana depletion.
Jae-sung lay on the infirmary bed, his wounds treated with healing magic by the resident mage. He couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief as the pain from his injuries slowly subsided. As he lay there, he couldn't help but think about the events that had just transpired. The serrated dagger was no longer lodged in his abdomen.
As he was lost in his thoughts, a voice interrupted his musings. "Hey, you're awake. How are you feeling?"
Jae-sung turned his head to see a young woman with long black hair, wearing a white robe, her chest especially pronounced. Jae-sung averted his eyes, not wishing to appear rude.
"I'm fine," Jae-sung replied. "Just a little sore."
"I'm Eun-ji," the young woman said, extending her hand for a shake.
Jae-sung took Eun-ji's hand and shook it. "Thanks, I appreciate it. I'm Jae-sung."
Eun-ji grinned. "You're welcome. So, what happened in there?"
hesitated for a moment before answering, "We were outnumbered, an ogre had been there as well. Three have perished."
Eun-ji gasped in astonishment. "How unfortunate."
Just then, another person entered the infirmary.
