chapter 1: the brave confession
Everyone would want to have a happy ending, but not everyone gets it. Most guys wants to date the most popular girl in their school and hopes that it will last till marriage. However, not everyone will be able to achieve their desires. And for those who gets to date them, it does not always go their way. This is a story of how I dated the most popular girl in my school and got dumped in front of the hole school.
My name is Akira Hiroshi. I am a second year high school student. I don’t look good and I am an introvert. No one in this school have ever asked me out. this year, I made a new goal which is to get a girlfriend and marry her one day. I have always had my eyes on our vice president of student council. Her name is akari kito. She is the most prettiest and popular girl in the school. Many guys have asked her out and got rejected. She only got one ex boyfriend but things ended horribly. After that incident, she never dated any other guys. I would love to ask her out one day. She is the girl of my dreams.
I grew up some courage and decided to ask her to meet me behind the school after our last lesson.
“um, kito-san, can you meet me behind the school after our last period? I have something that I need to tell you. Its pretty urgent’’
“sure hiroshi-san. I will see you later.”
My face quickly turned red. I immediately ran back to class. I felt very nervous and excited at the same time. I was so excited I felt like the time is running so slow.
3 hours left before meeting kito-san, it was math lesson. I tried falling asleep so that the time can run faster.
2 hours left before meeting kito-san, it was Japanese language lesson. Luckily, it is my favorite lesson so the time went by very quickly.
1 hour left before meeting kito-san. I got even more nervous. I was very sure that I would get turned down. I am sure that if that happens, I will get very depressed. I mean who wouldn’t? getting rejected by your dream girl. However, it wouldn’t be surprising. I mean I am one of the most ugliest boys in the school and I am confessing to the one and only AKARI KITO, the school’s most prettiest and popular girl.

10 minutes before meeting akari kito, I rushed to the back of the school. I planned to get there early so I can brace myself.
5 minutes before meeting kito-san, I sprayed myself with lots of perfume to ensure that I don’t smell bad. I even tidied up my uniform to look neat. She is the vice president after all.
It was time to meet to meet my dream girl. She got there pretty quickly. COULD IT BE THAT SHE WANTS TO MEET ME THAT BADLY? No no, there’s no way. We’re talking about AKARI KITO over here. There’s no reason for her to want to meet me that badly. Right?
“oh hi hiroshi-san. I got here as quick as possible. So, what is it that you urgently need to tell me?”
My heart was pounding very loudly. I feel like the whole world can hear it. For some reason the words can really get out of my mouth. I was stuttering like crazy.
“um, i- um, would you, um, like, uh…” this is not going as plan. Why am I so nervous? Its very simple. Would you like to go out with me? Why is It so hard for me to just ask that.
“hiroshi-san? Are you okay? You seem very nervous for some reason.”
I took and deep breath in and deep breath out.
“ WOULD YOU LIKE TO GO OUT WITH ME?” I was so nervous I was practically screaming.
“HAHAHA, you’re a funny guy hiroshi-san. HAHAHA wait I can’t stop laughing. Give me a sec HAHAHA.”
She just keeps on laughing. I don’t know if that is a good or bad sign. But it was lowkey hurting me on the inside. I don’t know why. But I just stood there and waited for a response.
“ahh, sorry you’re just too funny hiroshi-san. I cant even breathe.”
Why am I getting a bad feeling about this?
“anyways, can I get your reply? You can take your time actually because I actually know the answer.” My heart felt heavy saying that but that’s the truth. I know that I am gonna get rejected.
“Hiroshi-san, im sorry my answer is- “ as she was about to finally give me her reply, a random upperclassmen appeared. I got a bad feeling about this.
“akari-kun, why are you hanging out with a guy like this? What are you tryna do?” he grabs her hand tightly.
‘you better not forget about tonight” he starts to grab her even tighter.
“let me go!” kito-san screamed.
“you little bitc-“ he was about to slap kito-san face. I stepped in to intervene his actions. I pushed him away from kito-san.
“you’re akira aren’t you? I wont just sit still, ill remember this.” He got away.
“kito-san are you okay? Sorry I was not able to help. On a second thought, you can take your time to give me your reply. You went through a lot today.”
I felt very disappointed in myself. Why was I not able to help the girl I love? I was breaking down.
“that’s right. You can never protect your loved ones. Not then, not now” the voices in my head were getting loud. I was really about to break down there. But then, I heard her voice calling me.
‘hiroshi-san? You okay? Your eyes looks dead? Do you need me to bring you to the nurse?”
“oh, sorry. No im fine, thanks.” I think that I should let her go. I don’t want the same mistake to happen again.
“ill tell you my reply now, akira-san….” Did she just?..
