Chapter 3.1: To the Dungeon!

Chapter 3.1: To the Dungeon!

New Quest!

First Bloody Night: The Monsters won’t stop spawning until the sunrise, but if someone kills the Monster Chief of the area, they will stop spawning. Your objective is to survive this night using any means necessary to receive the right to use the Appraisal Skill.

Main Rewards: 10 XP, Appraisal, +10 Free Attributes.

Secondary Rewards: If you kill the Monster Chief of your area, you will receive a Custom Tattoo Soul. And if you kill the majority of Monsters, you will receive an Inventory.

The First Survival Game will begin in twenty minutes!

You can now use your AP(Aura Points).

“What are you going to do? They can spawn above your head just like we first met, so if you don’t fight, you won’t be capable of protecting your mother.” Jord considered the last thing he wants to do in this situation and sighed at the prospect of having to do it because of Vimesh’s safety.

“I will stay with my mother, if she dies, I will die too. Go help the others. I will stay right here, it is too dangerous to move mother’s body in the middle of a fight. Her fragile body can’t handle quick movement.” Vimesh said while stammering and holding tight the Grimoire in his hands.

So his love is stronger than his cowardice… damn, I will really have to summon that annoying thing if I want to help the others while ensuring Master’s life.

“Come Forth, Dhasharan!” Jord’s Core emitted a colorful beam that entered the earth and caused a lump of earth to float while beating like a heart.

From it came the first illusion that Jord had thought to be a friend, but in the end didn’t have sentience and only repeated the same thing over and over. Looking back in the past, Jord was naive beyond measure to think that a butler he specially made to his first house would be different of any NPC around him. At least the butler was strong and obeyed him.

The lump of earth grew to an adult Human’s height and began to create limbs to it movement itself. After a few seconds, at Vimesh and Jord’s front, a man with silvery white eyes and a complete butler’s uniform appeared while bowing.

Straightening his earth tailored jacket (which makes no sense), vest and bow tie, Dhasharan said. “Lord Third.”

Jord with throbbing metallic veins in his neck, not enduring to hear the damn thing saying the same thing for more than fifty years, said while controlling his temper, “protect this man and the woman while I am away.”

“Lord Third, Lord Third, Lord Third-”

“SHUT UP!” Jord quickly got away from Dhasharan before his anger made him destroy the butler or Vimesh asked him what a butler is.

He went to Carmina and Ethakon’s location whilst checking the skills he could evolve with his three Aura Points.

“I want to evolve Impalement, Bite and Earth Household Manipulation.”

Impalement is now Bloodthirsty Impalement: Using any mean resembling impalement, you recover 0.5% of your Max Health from enemy killed. After killing anything by impalement, your next impalement will receive the double of power.

Bite is now Earth Bite: If your feet are on the ground or on your Core’s creations, your bites will receive the earth’s power, increasing its strength and penetrative power.

Metal Properties Manipulation has been added to Earth Household Manipulation: You can now make any construction of yours have ten metal’s characteristics at maximum.

Metal? Wait… this means I can finally make a lustrous hatstand! It is as if a dream co-

Jord’s revelation of the century was interrupted by Carmina’s boisterous voice. “Good, you are finally here. Let’s go kill these fuckers!”

“Wait, we can’t leave this place unprotected. They can spawn in any place.” Jord said.

“Don’t worry, I have arranged some ‘weapons’ to anyone that seemed able to hold a spear.”

Jord looked around, noting several Humans and Virofolk holding sticks, and the mute Half-Viro using only his hands to cut trees.

“These will be more useful than sticks.” Jord made appear from the earth oversized metal knives with holes in the pummels and pointy metal forks with the same holes to help them use as weapons.

This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.

The people held the kitchen utensils with awe and Carmina laughed as she cut the nearby trees. “So sharp! Now this is a weapon, but why this form seems familiar to me?”

“What is the plan?” Jord asked to take her attention away from the knife.

“Well, protecting the people is important so we will let the majority here close to your houses. However, I don’t think that waiting for the sunrise is the correct way to survive this ‘Survival Game’. So I, you and Etha will advance against the herd of Monsters to kill the Monster Chief.”

Jord nodded and began to exchange information with Ethakon and Carmina about his abilities to increase their teamwork until the time limit ended.

“I have two glaring weaknesses, if someone touches my Core I will become immobile and I am weak to water, making impossible to me swim,” Jord said after hearing about the strong and weak points of Ehtakon and Carmina.

“Is it really fine to be telling this to us?” Ethakon said.

“We have only met today, I can’t say I approve you being so naive,” Carmina said with a frown.

“I know I am being naive, however, I want to construct a trustful relationship with you two, so displaying my weaknesses is a necessity.” Jord’s golden eyes shined. “Will you two use this information to kill me or use it to protect me from water and someone touching my Core? You two can consider this as a gamble of an old man that is risking his life to have some friends. Nothing more or nothing less. Just a gamble.” Jord said with a smirk.

Ethakon and Carmina became silent at Jord’s words. And just before the time ended, Carmina asked with wide-eyes after some switch had been turned in her head. “YOU ARE A OLD MAN?! How many years do you have?”

“Hey, it is rude to ask someone’s age. But I have fifty-two years.”

Ethakon and Carmina sighed with relief. “Thank the Holy Woman, after knowing you and hearing your voice we were worried that maybe you were a child because of your size. We can now fight with peace of mind.”

“Is my voice that childish?” Jord said with distress stamped on his face.

“Yes.” Ethakon and Carmina said at the same time.

It was as if Jord could hear the Grimoire saying, ‘who need to get better at disguising voice, me or you?’. Jord cursed his eternal childish voice because of the settings of the New Core Life Online that even as a VR Bug he couldn't change and heard the signal to the Survival Game’s beginning.

Good Luck!

Chief Bloody Bones with the Soulkeeper’s permission surged from the Abyss to test you and see if you are worthy of your True Name.

Chief Bloody Bones spawns a legion of undeads at your front and uses goblins as the normal spawn in your area after every ten minutes without being defeated.

At Jord’s vision, countless skeletons and zombies appeared from thin air. The skeletons were gigantic with differents white-smoke base forms, some seemed humans and others were some kind of dinosaur.

The zombies were completely made of Humans or Virofolk, with their flesh and soul decaying, they in Jord’s mind looked like Vimesh’s mother principally because of their scent.

Carmina roared to the skies and activated her Tattoo Soul. “HUARRRR!” She advanced to the legion and began to rip apart all the Monsters, even the ones that seemed like female children asking for help with the words ‘mom’ or ‘mommy’.

What happened to the plan?

Ethakon followed his wife in silence while killing the Monsters with his metal fork, making Jord follow them to ensure their safety without any plan.

Jord while impaling the majority of zombies and tearing through the skeletons with his Earth Bite and claws, perceived a strange fact. He wasn’t receiving XP at all!

A skeleton with the form of a Tyrannosaurus, two blue balls of light floating above its skull, shouldn’t they normally be inside?, plunged at Jord with its open jaw in flames.

Jord created a metal closet on the way of the dinosaur skeleton, stopping its attack and also restraining it by binding the closet to its teeth.

Jord manipulated two big knives to destroy the skeleton's head before it could break free from the closet. The knives gleamed at the same tint of the Moon, severing the dinosaur's head and all its body fell apart.

When Jord though it was over, one blue ball of light burst out and the skeleton’s bones began to reconstruct themselves and-

Jord with one of the metal knives destroyed the other ball of light and with the other crushed the dinosaur's bones, preventing the skeleton’s revival.

It is good to have a restoration power, but if it takes too long, it is useless in combat.

You killed the Skeleton Leader

+2 to Alignment

Even after killing a strong Monster with two names, Jord still hadn’t received XP! Although he received some Alignment he doesn’t know well what it serves for in a fight.

But this situation which he doesn’t receive XP could only mean one thing. The First System didn’t want to facilitate this Survival Game by making everyone gradually become more powerful after killing some Monsters to raise their Attributes and their chances of survival.

What a bad taste ‘game’.

Jord continued to go through the legion and ended up meeting Carmina and Ethakon after there wasn’t any normal Monster in their way, only their final objective. However, they took too long to find the Monster Chief.

Goblins has spawn through all your area.

“Good night, Lord Third. I am Bloody Bones and I am here to test Your Excellency in this obsolete Empire Building System. Don’t worry, no weakling will appear here to disturb us.” The Chief Skeleton with flesh tissues all around its body and a puddle of blood on its feet, bowed just like a gentleman. “Then, let’s begin the test with these ‘animals’ as your support.” Four red balls of light lighten up on Bloody Bones, two above its skull and another two at the socket of his eyes.

Carmina and Ethakon speeded up to the Monster Chief’s location before Jord could warn them about the balls of lights.
