V2 Chapter 10: Awakening of the Skeleton King

Karnage: Hello, I tried posting this chapter last night but so many errors popped up I got frustrated and deleted it. Here you go, I worked out the problems this morning. Please enjoy fellow Daoists! *Bow*

On a side note: To the people complaining about last chapter's fight, It was only a single chapter lol. Lots of Xianxia fights last 3-5 chapters and I'm sorry but I like detailing my fights and will continue to do so in the future. What I can promise you is that, i'll make sure the fight ends in a chapter but it will be long :/.

I don't know how to cure my descriptive writing either, I naturally write like this and I get that some of you don't like it but I can't write bland sentences. I've read way too many Wuxia/Xianxia's. I stated before that this was Xianxia genre and it will retain some similarities; if not most. I tried to leave out the annoying parts about "Wanting face" LOL. Sorry if this work isn't what you like, but I really do try hard and this is the best way I know how to write.

Im a guy with a pretty wild imagination, and I think of a lot of things I want to put in writing and share with people. If you're still interested in reading Falling Star of Evolution, thank you for reading this! If not, Sorry if it isn't what you thought it was.

V2 Chapter 10-

On the battlefield of Serpent Falls-

The body of the Fire Titan Gorilla King after death, turned black as night; a light breeze blew over and his body became dust particles that slowly decayed and flew into the air....

The sounds of battle ceased for a moment in surprise at the outcome of the battle, Sol sent a deadly glare at the apes who were looking at him. Suddenly he lifted his Heavy Sword and raised it to the heavens as he took a deep breathe!

[A God has fallen!! Now is the time to end this! Death to the intruders!] -Sol

Sol's voice echoed out throughout the battlefield, the Serpent Familia raised their heads and looked on as the corpse of the Fire Titan Gorilla King became dispersed like ashes before their eyes. Suddenly a terrible blood lust erupted from the Serpent Familia as they sensed victory and that the kill was near!

*ROARRRRRRRR*

All manners of creatures from Serpent Falls roared out to the heavens as their viciousness became unrivaled and attacked savagely as morale soared!

Seeing this the Gods without exception became astounded that things could change in a matter of seconds, and all of this was because of a single person...Sol.

(No matter what he does, he does it differently) -Old Black

Old Black chuckled inwardly as she beamed with happiness at the Sol who was currently soaked in blood giving off a savage appearance with Heavy Sword in hand.

(Hmmmm, Hahaha, Good! Good! Death is near!) -Glowy

Glowy madly dashed towards the Storm Wind Ape King without reserves now that she had nothing to worry about!

(He really killed him...what terrible battle power) -Iron Stone Ape King

The Iron Stone Ape King stared at dispersing corpse with surprise in his eyes.

(I knew it! I knew I was right to run! Those mutant mark holders are all too abnormal!) -Storm Wind Ape King

The Storm Wind Ape King had sweat poured all over his face as he saw the entire thing, he had been paying great attention to the fight since it begun as he didn't believe his instincts were wrong.

The Peak S-Rank Generals of Serpent Falls heard this war cry and lifted their heads towards Sol's direction! The Divine 5 Headed Hydra was neck deep in corpses and turned to look at Sol with a look of admiration within it's savage eyes and then similarly let out a terrifying roar in unison with the other Serpent Familia.

The Flood Dragon who was responsible for securing an escape route for injured allies in a nearby stream, nodded as he had seen the entire thing; a look of gratefulness and warmth appeared in his eyes as looked at the blood-covered Sol.

However this peace only lasted for a second before Sol once more roared into the heavens!

[Vritra! GO NOW!] -Sol

Suddenly a silhouette came from the sky, no one had known when it appeared but at some point in time Vritra had escaped everyone's vision and awaited in the sky! As per Sol's orders, he had followed them to the exact dot.

In a flash of light, Vritra appeared from the heavens coiling within the sky like a terrible omen as an emerald glow covered his entire body. His green eyes lit up and he released a roar downward pressuring the apes toward the floor!

*ROAR*

Vritra quickly plummeted downward toward the surplus of Apes of the remaining two tribes, a savage look in his eyes as his blood lust roused to it's maximum and soared scaring every living thing in horror! The Apes upon seeing this became awe struck! As they looked around; they noticed most of the serpents they were fighting were......gone!

What was even worse, was that the poison entrapment circle from before which they thought was out of poison suddenly started spewing purple colored poison trapping them inside once more! This time it was a paralysis type poison that made them feel like the earth's gravity had increased one thousand fold.

The remaining serpents immediately fled through the purple poison without worry, as they ran off into the distance they dashed over to the river the Flood Dragon guarded and was met with a pile of herbs which they chewed on and acquired a separate antidote! Outside of the purple fog the remaining Serpent Familia who already had antidotes within their blood ruthlessly circled and pushed them back inside whenever a few made it back out.

All this had happened much too fast! The Apes could only see off into the distance the serpents they were fighting before were leisurely munching on herbs and staring at them coldly. This sort of plan was much too terrifying, it gave not a single soul a chance to escape.

They had gotten much too comfortable and made the biggest mistake by focusing on Sol and ignoring Vritra! They had gotten too accustomed to having Vritra flying around yet not doing anything, some even had suspicions he wasn't a Dark Emerald Naga as he was too big.

After a while they began feeling as though they were correct and that it was a plot of some sort. Especially after seeing the method in which Vritra was used to reduce casualties rather than attack. Now when they saw Vritra approaching them with mad blood lust, a bad premonition came to their minds as they started feeling as though they were terribly wrong but what could they do besides curse their fates?

*BOOM*

The Naga's unique black colored poisonous fog exploded as Vritra reached the exact middle of the poison entrapment; It covered the entrapment immediately covering them all in darkness!

However it seemed to be controlled in a certain circular form and did not leave the entrapment at all, and maintaining a controlled blast radius. Inside the entrapment circle were-

Bones! Hundreds upon Hundreds of Bones! Bones of all manners of shapes and sizes littered the battlefield!

The two remaining Ape Gods looked stupidly at the piles of bones and suddenly felt a cold sensation in their hearts. Just like that, the entire army was obliterated along with a God; save themselves.

(..How horrible) -Iron Stone Ape King

(This...) -Storm Wind Ape King

Both Ape Gods became speechless as they looked at this scene in horror, they both subconsciously shifted their hatred filled gaze to Sol; who sat cross-legged with his hands making flashes of light along with symbols. A stream of blood at the side of his lips as he clenched his chest, it was obvious Sol was the reason why the poisoned fog was controlled and not a single beast outside the entrapment was harmed.

Sol laughed at them coldly and his gaze flickered as he spoke with a detached tone.

[What? Worried? Don't be, you will join them soon enough. The ever merciful Skeleton King welcomes all into his ranks, even such stupid fools like you that lead their tribes to slaughter and doom! Prepare yourself!] -Sol

As Sol spoke, his hair lit up brightly along with his eyes and his body in a brilliant emerald color like a deity!

Suddenly Vritra's special black-colored naga poison started resonating with Sol! The poison fog started gathering at Sol's palm into a ball of black light! It slowly started changing it's shape as it twisted and condensed; if one looked at Sol's fingers they would see them decaying slowly down to the bones causing great amounts of pain as this power gathered in his palm.

[Ahh!] -Sol

*WRRRR*

A terrifying whir sound accompanied the powering up of this technique and it brought about a horrifying aura as this deadly fog started to take the form of a terrifying black arrow!

All manners of poisons from Sol's body gathered in this arrow! His Light Affinity and his Fire Affinity as well! Blood began leaking from his nose as this power began to gather proving to be too stressful for his body!

Suddenly an image of a Skeleton King appeared behind Sol, it opened it's arms to welcome for a second time; this time for Both Ape Gods to see! The both Ape Gods upon seeing this Skeleton appear behind him, suddenly stopped looking at the darkened face Sol and could only stare at the image behind him in utter fear and horror as they saw it's hideously fearsome features and overpowering aura!

(My brothers..It seems I cannot avenge you...What sort of abomination insight can make one gather this sort of frightening image? How sinister must one be to gather such a terrifying insight into such a thing...is this the comprehension of... Death?) -Iron Stone Ape King

[You....vile..thing..] -Iron Stone Ape King

The Iron Stone Ape King fell to his knees as he looked up at the terrifying Skeleton King, his back cold as ice and his eyes as if they had seen the end of the world. It seemed as though he had lost his will to live as he saw the figure before him.

(What's wrong with him all of a sudden? He reeks with fear! I only saw the image for a split second...could it be? He's still seeing it?...It's still there? I'm not going to wait to find out! I was right to run the first time! There's nothing that can be done here anymore) -Storm Wind Ape King

The Storm Wind Ape King glanced at the kneeling comrade, showed a face of horror and immediately turned tail and flee!

However, would Glowy and Old Black watch as he escaped? In a flash of light Old Black both appeared behind the the Storm Wind Ape King!

*SNAP*

[Ahhh!!] -Storm Wind Ape King

Old Black immediately snapped the fleeing Storm Wind Ape King's leg as his back was turned, no one new when she had appeared but it was obvious that Old Black never missed an opening! Glowy circled the Iron Stone Ape King to make sure he did not run, a cold light flickering in her eyes.

The two ended up becoming trapped in a circle of Serpents, the Storm Wind Ape King could only watch on in horror at the forming arrow that seemed to be a total and complete abomination! The Iron Stone Ape King seemed to be lost in his own world of horror not paying any attention to the forming arrow!

*WRRR*

The power continued to gather as dark lines appeared throughout Sol's body, his eyes became black as night as he stared at the both Ape Gods with an ancient gaze of nothingness.

[When you arrive at the ghost lands, give the flaming one my regards. I hope he gets to reincarnate, he certainly deserves it] -Sol

Sol's cold voice issued out, there was no pleasure in it, it actually sounded sorrowful.

*Click*

Suddenly a tiny click issued out as Sol drew the Golden bow from his back, he gripped the arrow with his flesh decayed fingers; revealing horrifying white bones that gripped the end of the arrow!

Were it not for Sol's "Predatorial State" he would have long been screaming from the pain, streams of blood poured out from his nose as he looked at his targets -Both Ape Gods!

Suddenly Sol lightly drew back the bow-string a single inch, which sent ripples of emerald energy out, as Sol nocked the arrow; the emerald serpent sights opened it's mouth as it's golden eyes opened with a flash locking on to the Apes in front of it!

Sol drew the bow-string even further, issuing out a sound as if stack of steel cables were being twisted!

*WRRR*

The arrow had finally been formed! Sol immediately released the arrow from the Golden bow!

*PSHH*

[Sorrowful Soulless Arrow!] -Sol

The terrifying black arrow flew straight and true at the speed of light as the image of the Skeleton King behind Sol suddenly flew behind the dark poisoned arrow! It's finger merged into the arrow and gave it a surreal feeling attack as if being ordered to die by the God of Death! The Skeleton King's bejeweled finger immediately flew behind the Ape Kings a tragic deadly smile spread as the cracks from it's jaw widening it's smile!

NO! I refuse to die because of this abnormal existence! This isn't fair!! How can a human at the 2nd Order Warrior kill Gods! Curse you heavens for this favoritism! I survived for countless years and worked my way up! I even killed my own family to become King! I deserve to live, I earned what I killed! How can one human whose never even lived a simple fraction of my 700 years of hard work and struggle!]  Fire Titan Ape King

As the anguished King roared in fury and tried to run away on half a leg and his arms, a cold and ancient voice entered his ears as Sol's face became demonic and spouted with rage at them.

[Ha Ha Ha, You want to slaughter, yet not want to be slaughtered. You want to steal and conquer, yet not be stolen from or conquered. You want to enslave, yet not be enslaved. What sort of logic is this?

Now that you fail, you blame the heavens for your misjudgement? It seems to me that you "Gods" can't maintain your dignity even in death, what exactly makes you different from us? Do not blame the heavens for your misguided views and natural born arrogance than makes you feel as if the world was born in the palm of your hand.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted without the author's consent. Report any appearances on Amazon.

I learned a long time ago the heavens will not interfere with neither man nor beast; and I learned that right here in Serpent Falls covered in the blood of my enemies. This place is probably the only place in all of Magnolia where the heavens don't shine, pity you chose here for your resting place.

The way I see it, your greatest misfortune was believing you were immortal from the very beginning when you are only just flesh and bone.

You all are no different from the rest of us. Flesh and Bone, Skin and teeth, sure they may be stronger than the average, it may be tougher and even more durable. However, make no mistake, you are indeed flesh and bone and if that's the case then I'm confident; I can make the perfect solution for your death] -Sol

These were the last words the Storm Wind Ape King had heard, as the arrow pierced his heart.

*SPLISH*

*SPLISH*

From start to finish, the Iron Stone Ape King had not moved and stared upward to the sky as if he had lost his mind; he did not even notice the arrow that pierced his chest. Gradually the light faded from his eyes and he became a corpse as his body turned black and faded with a blast of the wind which was a shocking turn of events as he was so powerful and a late stage God-Ranked ape.

The Storm Wind Ape King cried out in horror as he watched the sure death attack pierce his chest and one could see fear and incredible unwillingness as his body fell to the floor and lost all his power. The Skeleton King's finger completely shredded through the God Ape Kings like butter as it flew into a portal disappearing afterward.

The entire field had become empty, not a single ape in sight. Sol looked down at his fingers, the Light Affinity had been quite weakened by the exposure to this poison and the regeneration had stopped halfway, as he saw the bones in his fingers exposed he made a bitter smile and spurt out quite a few mouthfuls of blood.

Streams of blood also left his ears and eyes, his fingers stopped regenerating and dark lines appeared all over his body, his eyes became pitch black and he lost consciousness; falling towards the floor.

[Sol!!!] -Glowy

Glowy screamed in fear as she saw the amount of blood leaving Sol, a shadow simultaneously appeared holding the unconscious Sol before he could fall. This was Old Black in human form, who similarly had a frightful expression on her face as her murky green eyes showed great concern seeing the amount of blood.

(Che! I knew it! That was way too much power for him to handle!) -Old Black

Old Black quickly held Sol and disappeared in a blast of darkness, Glowy hastily followed in a trail of fire, Along with Hydrian and Hydreas. Vritra had long merged inside Sol's body and became a green tattoo as he fiercely worked to absorb the dangerous poison remnants in Sol's body. If one could see inside Sol's soul, they would see the amount of pain Vritra had to go through in order to filter the poison.

Old Black returned to her waterfall in a flash, the rest shortly caught up wearing worried expressions. Hydrian and Hydreas quickly merged themselves into Sol and begun using their Light Affinity to purge Sol's body, Hydreas inwardly cursed herself for not training her Light Affinity to a high degree and vowed to train it enough to be able to help Sol in the future.

Old Black hastily disappeared somewhere and returned after a short time with a shell in her hand, a copy of the detox antidote Sol created was given to her by him before the battle in case he was unable to take it himself.

Old Black quickly unsealed the shell and took a huge mouthful of the potion, she parted Sol's lips and moved his tongue with hers pouring the liquid directly down Sol's throat. A few of the S-Ranks watching turned their backs and some cleared their throats making unassuming coughs, especially the 5 Headed Divine Hydra who made quite a scene with his 5 "coughs".

Sol's adam's apple went up and down a few times under the watchful eyes of a worried Glowy and then finally they relieved a sigh as his fingers once more begun releasing steam signalling the commencement of the regeneration; shortly afterward the dark lines on his body became lighter.

Suddenly Glowy snatched the antidote shell from Old Black's hand and glared at her ferociously!

[You have some nerve! After everything you told me! L-Look what you did! I'll feed him next time, you just stay away!] -Glowy

Old Black laughed teasingly as she looked at Glowy's angered face and decided to push it further.

[So what if I want him, what will you do?] -Old Black

Suddenly Glowy's face became pale, seeing the sneer at the corner of Old Black's lips she became enraged once more!

[You're despicable!!] -Glowy

The S-Ranks couldn't help but let out laughs as they enjoyed this warm atmosphere, this was indeed all thanks to their Familia Sol. For the entire night, not a single one of them left him alone.

[Still, it's thanks to him that we have a peaceful night tonight. Who would have thought that human who came tumbling out the waterway would end up becoming one of us and save our scales, Haha] -Old Black

Old Black seemed to find it amusing as she rubbed Sol's head and let out a laugh like silver bells, a warm gaze rested on his sleeping handsome face. Glowy nodded and beamed towards Sol with looks of admiration and something else..

[Sister is right, I always knew he would become someone powerful. He's completely fearless and he is destined to reach levels even higher than us, he might even be able to stand toe to toe with the beasts from Purgatory Forest] -Glowy

Glowy seemed to be thinking of something distant as she mentioned Purgatory Forest and Old Black seemingly understanding had a layer of frost cover her face and asked her.

[What?...Are you still thinking of him?] -Old Black

Hearing this Glowy shook for a second, it was intense hatred and fury that burned in her eyes as she heard Old Black's words.

[Indeed, that bastard will some day pay for killing our parents; I'll definitely take care of it myself. I hope Sol doesn't encounter him on his travels, after all, there can only be a single King in a forest and Sol's existence might most likely draw them into a battle if they encounter] -Glowy

Old Black said nothing as she looked off into the distance, a layer of frost covering her face.

Glowy seemed to be worried as she looked at the sleeping Sol and lay next to him stealing a snuggle. Finally Old Black spoke her mind as she looked warmly at the sleeping Sol.

[Don't worry you silly fool, what could he possibly do to our little monster? Besides that's not for a long time. There's no use worrying about it and I have a feeling even if or when they meet, he wouldn't be Sol's opponent] -Old Black

Her chilled expression then returned as she silently vowed in her heart and spoke-

[Still he is someone we have to definitely kill in the future, for driving us out of our home and killing our mother and father, He will most definitely die] -Old Black

Old Black then shifted her gaze to Sol as she continued to play with hiss hair.

[Tell me, of all the children we've seen grow up here in Serpent Falls; have you ever seen one this frightful? It's useless to worry, after all you felt it right? An ancestor chose him to acquire a legacy, though I don't know which one; he was certainly chosen by a powerful one] -Old Black

As Glowy thought of this, she finally relaxed and the hug on the unconscious Sol  became tighter. She seemed to think of something and hesitatingly asked

[He has to leave just now though, doesn't he? He has to go find the other girl...Will he go back to living with humans?...Will he stay over there?....Will he never come back here once he meets other humans?] -Glowy

Old Black showed a mysterious gaze, before taking a few moments to reply. A look of utter confidence appeared on her face.

[He will definitely return one day, don't worry silly girl. He is one of us through and through, this place calls out to him. No matter what you must have faith in him and believe that he will return. After all, there's also that thing with the young miss...he will most definitely return. Besides, I don't think this little monster can fit in with humans] -Old Black

Hearing this Glowy seemed to remember something, nodded and then quickly disappeared. Old Black seeing this let out a laugh and once more rubbed Sol's head as she drank from a different shell which smelled a bit like wine and gazed into the full moon.

(Crafty Girl...you've really gotten attached to him huh....well he isn't bad at all) -Old Black

Old Black accompanied Sol's unconscious body as she rested his head on her lap and gazed at the full moon. When no one had seen, she let out the most radiant and splendid smile that would send anyone into a stupor. She parted some of the hair from Sol's face and gave him a lasting kiss on his forehead.

[Thank you, for shedding your blood and shedding blood for Serpent Falls little guardian] -Old Black

**

Sol's POV:

Within Sol's conscious-

What is this place? So Dark...Where is this? I used the Black Soul Arrow...then...right I lost consciousness. This is inside my conscious? I moved forward and tried looking around but it was still covered in darkness...It's strange..I feel like someone is watching me.

[Show yourself!] -Sol

Suddenly a cold and ancient voice rung out, which seemed to be tinged with excitement but stranglely also held a feeling of indifference.

[Hahaha I see your not stupid, Good! Good! You have quite the senses there!] -???

As I turned around, What I saw I couldn't believe! It was the same Skeleton King I thought was the image of a Death God!! Seeing this I felt a cold chill run down my spine! Was this not the guy I created from my insights? How can he be inside my conscious?

[You are half correct! I am THE Death God!] -Death God

What?!

[What? How can that be? I've never seen you before...are you not a figment of my imagination which I created?] -Sol

[You? Create me? HAHAHAHAHA!! You are a funny guy! Hilarious! It was good to make contact with you, I haven't laughed like that in God knows how many millions of years! Kid, were you born from a jester?] -Death God

Hearing this Sol became cold, he knew for a fact whatever this thing inside his conscious was; it wasn't lying and it's every word was terrifying to an unimaginative degree.

[So why do you look like what I imagined you would like? My insights, this is the conclusion I came to regarding Poison, Medicine and Death. Could...it be that I was wrong?] -Sol

[Hahah!! No No! You are correct, yet incorrect! Those are MY insights, you merely learned them. See, the more you learn of death, the more you understand MY insights. The more of my insights you comprehend, the greater the imagery of me you will be able to create. The greater the imagery of me you create, the greater you can suppress your enemies

Did you not wonder why the Iron Stone Ape King Fell paralyzed to the floor? The greater your understanding of life and death is, the more powerful my form and the more clearer it becomes. The closer you are to death, the greater the image will appear; and the more targets you will be able ensnare.

Your lack of comprehension made it so you were only able to entrap a single God while the other broke out of it's entrapment. Both times you have summoned me was at the edge of Death's door, or well you can say my front door! Bahahaha! Get it! Get it!!] -Death God.

I respectfully nodded towards this Great Skeleton King whose every word and gesture was incredibly frightening to the point I just wanted to keep my mouth shut. The strange part was the guy was incredibly friendly and talked about the most normal things.

[Anyway kid, mind telling me why you have the memories of countless souls trapped within you?] -Death God

[Huh?] -Sol

[Nevermind, I'll find out myself!] -Death God

The Death God instantly enveloped Sol in darkness, Sol felt a searing pain for a single moment but it was over almost as fast as one could count to 3.

[Black technology huh?...What a frightful piece of machinery...I must say your ancestors truly knew how to party kid. Still, in your world this sort of thing probably wouldn't have side effects. However, this world is different kid. In this world, your soul has power here.

Did you know memories make up part of the soul? Even though they are forgotten, memories don't go away kid. They are forgotten but never ever lost, take it from me. Now that you have the memories of several thousand killers in your soul...how could you not experience side effects?  It's because of this I was able to make a connection with you.

Well...I wouldn't really call them side effects, but then again...I'm not really an expert on deciding what's socially acceptable and you shouldn't take my words for it! HAHAHA!] -Death God

The Death God's words struck me like thunder as I looked at him stupidly, his green jewel like eyes were incredibly serious as he said this yet laughed like a madman.
