Fallen Embers
The Slaughter for the New World!

The Slaughter for the New World!

The students struggled to cast spells at the massive spider as it ate one of their fellow classmates. Ash and Allie looked at the scene of all their classmates struggling to keep the monster at bay. Ash made a goofy face while laughing at the scene of them screaming. While Allie had a serious expression on her face and gripped the metal pole in her hand more tightly. She looked at Ash who was having fun and watching the show of some of their classmates being eaten while doing some damage to the monster.

"Ash, I think we should help them before they all die, and we have no bait left to use for the monster. It would be better if we didn't face the spider alone. We can kill them afterwards to make you feel better.

When Ash heard her idea, he paused in laughter. He nodded and then held out his hand, and embers of fire and Ash swirled around the hall. He prepares the pole he holds in his hand and aims to bash one of the spider's legs. The embers then attack the body of the spider near its head to blind it. It took some burns as it screeches when Ash strikes one of its eight legs in. The monster tilted to the side, trying to gain balance with one of its legs out of commission.

"What a remarkable new sport I've invented! Allie, why don't we just use the bait as baseballs and smack them into the spider? That way we cannot be bored and do all the work killing this thing."

Allie sighed and looked at him with a disappointed expression. She held out her hand, and snowflakes began to form around the area. The snow started to fall, and all the students could see their breath as they breathed in and out. The snow started to go towards two of the spider's legs, and it started to gather frost. Allie then threw out one of the students in front of the spider to act as bait. The spider looked at the student in front of it and pounced on it. Slowly eating the flesh of the student. The student struggled and cast spells to keep the monster at bay.

"Well, at least he is being useful at the moment. Hmm, I think I should deal with this big pest before Ash does something stupid. I would rather not see him get hurt, but the bait is a different story."

Allie bashed two of the legs that were already partly frozen. The spider is easily taken down to its side. She looked at the creature and prepared her weapon so that she could take another swing. Ash looked at her, about to go for the kill. He saw the spider screeching in agony as it fell away from its meal. The massive Aracnid started to make a strange noise and you could see it making a strange liquid in its mouth. It shot out a green liquid at Allie. She paused and looked at the attack in hand.

While Ash screamed in an attempt to warn Allie, time is running out. He grabs one of the students and throws it in the way of the attack. As a result of the situation, the student screams. Then he is hit by a green liquid which seems to be very corrosive. His skin started to burn and slowly turned green. He could feel the liquid affecting his body as he started to scream in pain. He fell to his side as everyone else saw his body slowly melting away leaving only bones left.

"That was close Aliie! You have to be more careful. Next time you have to bring these meat shields in case you get attacked like that. Well, I am a bit pissed so let me take care of this."

Ash looked at the creature with a hatred-filled look rather than a goofy smile. His embers coil around him. His emotions feed into his magic. He holds out his hand and casts a spell and sends a wave of embers at the spider. The monster recoiled in agony as it felt the heat of the spell wash over it. The students looked at the situation in awe and fear. They had never seen Ash with a look like that before. He always used to be goofy and had a fun and childlike personality. Now he looks like a whole different person. His face hardened as he gripped the metal pole and started to bash the spider's head in without hesitation. The cries of the monster filled the halls as it screeched in pain.

"You couldn't play along with the plan, right? You almost killed my lover. We even gave you a big dinner, but you were still not satisfied. Well, I guess this fun time has to end because of this. Burn in hell monster."

Ash held out his hand and sent out another big wave of embers. This wave seemed to have a lot of heat as he bashed the creature over and over again. The monster started to struggle for its life as each strike was made. It slowly died as Ash made his last hit. He looked at the group of students with an angry look. Then he slowly changed back into his goofy and childlike personality. He started to laugh for no reason at the situation at hand.

"Well, that was fun right guys? At least some of you survived in the end. To be honest I thought you were all gonna be dead after this. I am just glad my love is okay."

A tight hug was given to Allie as Ash walked up to her. She felt a bit of a tear on her shirt when he hugged her and rests his face on her chest. She patted his head and smiled with a warm look on her face. As the students look at the duo, they wonder what will happen next. This crazy duo used them as bait and broke their limbs so they could not escape. Once they had a moment, they began to glance at the students left behind.

"Well, Ash thank you for saving me. What should we do with them, though? They are not really useful other than points. We could kill them to get more so we can try and get a better reward for the tutorial."

Ash nodded at the idea and laughed with a crazed smile. The students struggled to try and crawl away despite the pain in their limbs. Every one of them wanted just a little bit longer to live. Ash and Allie walked up to the group and held out their hands. Embers and Snow started to appear in the hall as it was shot at the group. Some of the students began to freeze and gradually die from the cold. While others started to burn alive slowly by the embers. Their skin melts slowly. For good measure, Ash and Allie bashed their heads or stabbed the metal pole through their bodies.

"Well, that was fun! Now we can see how many points we've earned in total. I wonder what the reward is for being in the top three. After that, we can finally leave this hell hole behind. I really hate school and the spiders were my most terrifying nightmare."

Allie nodded and they looked at all the bodies around them. The bodies of all the students are burned and smashed to death. The students all looked to be dead. One of them seemed to be struggling to breathe. The duo walked slowly to the last student. He looked at the duo in fear and despair. They killed everyone and used them as bait. He felt the pain in his broken legs as he struggled to escape.

"Why are you two doing this? We all wanted nothing more than to live and work together. You two are just monsters! What do you gain from all this chaos and the deaths of so many people?"

Ash looked at the student and walked up to him slowly. Ash walked towards him as he stared at him. As Ash reached him, he grabbed his head by his hair, pulling him up to face-to-face. He looked into Ash's eyes and saw blood-red eyes with swirls of ash in them. He did not look human but more like a monster.

"The reason why we did this is that this world is not a place for happy endings. In a world of chaos, human nature must always shine through. My preference is not to try to be a perfect human and die as a result. I want to be a monster that survives. This is the true world sadly and when I am done with it there will only be us and embers left."

Allie stabbed her metal pole in his throat as she walked behind Ash. The light slowly leaves his eyes. The last thing he sees is Allie and Ash walking away, holding hands together. He should have never had hope, for these two really are the true monsters in this world. Allie and Ash ask out loud to check the leaderboard.

[1st - Ash Morningstar - 700pts

2nd-Allie Mistwalker-400 pts]

"Seems that we won in the end, Allie. Looks like our plan worked out in the end. Those poor souls never knew that they were all going to die in the end. Well, this will help us in this evolving world."
