David enters a bookstore where he has his habits. This 31-year-old Thai-French mixed blood is a business lawyer. He earns a very good living, especially since he is self-employed. No boss and no need to share the winnings. This allows him to satisfy his two passions: to flirt with cute boys in the evening in order to put one or more of them in his bed, and to run through bookstores, libraries and book fairs. Yes, you can be a playboy and a bibliophile!
As usual, he heads for the back of the bookstore where the science fiction section is. David is an absolute fan of Asimov, Orwell, Clarke or even Herbert.
He grabs a book by Liu Cixin from the shelf and begins to read the back cover. He vaguely hears the shop door open but ignores it, his mind focused on the summary of the book in his hands.
But a movement makes him look up. At the end of the aisle, a young boy whom he recognizes immediately. Small and frail, a small straight nose, high cheekbones, almond-shaped eyes and a thin little mouth. Sunny, the Fallen Angel's stealth little server!
The opportunity is too good, he always wanted to talk to this boy but never succeeded. He finds it very much to his liking!
The boy stands on tiptoes, interested in a book on a high shelf. David, determined not to lose this great opportunity to reproduce a sweet scene of Asian drama, comes to stand behind him and grabs the coveted book. Sunny turns around, cloistered between the shelving and the man, he looks up and, recognizing him, quickly takes the book in his hand and kicks him in the shin!
David folds, rubbing his poor leg in pain "I just wanted to help you and this is how you thank me?"
"I didn't ask you sir!" replies Sunny cruelly
“Usually when someone helps you you have to say thank you!” responds David outraged
“Is this what the servers of the Fallen Angel are taught? besides, I am very surprised to find an angel in this bookstore!”
This last remark insinuating that the angels sound uneducated, amplifying his displeasure “All the staff of the Fallen Angel can read and write sir!” the little waiter pointed out to him in a cold voice.
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
David straightened up and gave him his most flirtatious smile and waving his hands in front of him, trying to calm the exchange “Ola, Ola! I didn't mean to offend you, pretty Sunny. Sorry I expressed myself badly! I meant that we are a long way from the northern district where your bar is located!”
Sunny not letting himself be fooled "The Fallen Angel is my place of work no domicile sir" He looks at him harshly, then goes under his arm with the aim of quickly reaching the cash register.
But the much taller man catches up with him and grabs his arm, forcing him to turn around. By releasing his greatest acting game to him “Wait my angel, you are not going to plant me like that after having unfairly bruised me!”
Sunny is absolutely unaffected by the risky comedy played by this man. On the contrary, he begins to be extremely annoyed.
David suddenly looks down at the book in the hands of the little waiter “Werber's Ants?! I love this book!” he exclaims.
Sunny, telling himself that he was really unlucky today when he came across this fanatic, is still surprised that he knows this kind of reading. Indeed, he sees him reading suspicious magazines more than books…
So David continues by showing him what he has in his hands “I took this book by Liu Cixin, it is the second part of the trilogy. Even if it is not easy to read with all the scientific terms, I am addicted to it! Do you like sci-fi?”
The boy calms down a bit, he has already read this author's saga and thinks the same thing. He hesitates but replies “Without spoilers, the third volume is the best. Yes, I really like sci-fi.”
David smiles like a kid in front of a packet of candy and begins to ask him if he has read this or that book and what he thought of it. Seeing him absorbed and excited in his reading summaries and finding his point of view very interesting, Sunny gets carried away by the conversation. For an hour they will discuss their reading while strolling between the shelves, picking up books here and there.
They arrive at the checkout and pay for their purchases without ceasing to discuss. Once in the street, Sunny looked at the time "Oh, it's already late! I have to go to work."
So David, delighted to have been able to talk about his passion with another aficionado, tries “Could we still talk about books together?” he pauses looking at the suspicious young man “I guess asking for your phone number is too personal, but can we exchange emails?”
Sunny is divided, he shouldn't trust him. Not only is he a regular customer of the place where he works, but he is also a notorious Don Juan. Nevertheless he appreciated his exchange with him. His only friends are the Fallen Angel staff and most of them haven't opened a book since high school…So he has no one to talk to about his readings.” It's just my email address, at worst I put it in spam!” he says to him
Under his greedy eyes, David sees the young boy take out his phone with an “OK”
