Chapter 1: Innocent Days

Levi's eyes slowly opened. Different from what he saw before he was now lying on some sort of mat in a room. The sliding door on his left was opened a little and let sunlight and fresh air in.

The room was mostly a creamy whitish colour besides the ceiling and lines through the walls made of a dark wood. The sliding doors to his left and right were made of paper. It looked something like the so-called "Dojo" his Father's martial artist friend had built.

He tried to sit up but found himself completely unable to. He looked down to see his body completely covered in bandages. Suddenly, the pain hit him.

Like a man, he gritted his teeth and beared it. More than the pain though, he felt weak. Like every ounce of strength had left his body. He was sure he wasn't even this weak when he was born. He tried to speak but could only make out a few words.

Then, the door to his right - the one that led to the rest of the building - slid open and a young man walked in.

"Oh, you're awake," He said sounding quite surprised.

"I'll just check on how your body is healing then I'll get my Master."

Levi immediately noticed how the language sounded different from his Father's original language which he had learnt. Still, he could make out what the man was saying.

"My name is Javiel by the way. Diana told me your name was Levi?"

Levi made a small nod as he memorised both names.

Javiel spoke as he did his checkups, "You're currently at Leopard Dojo on the Kanzaki Mountains. Master said you were a martial arts practitioner so you may have heard of it."

He managed to make conversation just by looking at Levi's facial expressions.

"That's fine, we are a bit secluded after all. There was a massive crater where Diana found you, did you fall from the sky or something.

"Damn, how high did you fall from to make a crater like that? In fact, how are you even alive? When Diana brought you in I was confident you were dead. Even when I found out that you were alive, I was sure you wouldn't survive one day. Yet here we are, 1 week later and you're healing at a rate I've never seen before.

"Oh yeah, it's been a week since Diana found you. 9 days to be exact. Surprised at how short it is?

"At how long it is?! You're really too much. Master used so many healing techniques and valuable herbs on you, I almost thought it a bit wasteful.

"Between you and me, I don't think he was trying to save you just for the sake of saving you. It almost seemed a bit obsessive. But what do I know, hahaha."

Even as he practically betrayed his master he didn't sound nervous at all. Even boisterously laughing.

With a smile Levi finally eked out a few words, "You talk... a lot."

For a moment Javiel looked suprised. "Haha, well that's what everyone says.

"And, checkups all finished. Damn, what the hell martial arts do you practice? If you keep healing at this rate you'll be walking around in a few days!"

Javiel sighed and then continued, "Anyway, I'll go get my Master."

After he left through the door on the right, a young woman peaked in through the door on the left, the same young woman whom he had seen before, Diana apparently. "Um,may I come in?" she asked.

Levi nodded, after which she came in and sat on her knees.

"Um, hi... I'm Diana," she spoke while looking calm but her voice betrayed her true state of mind, "H-how are you feeling?"

Levi simply smiled and nodded.

"That's good."

After that, she sort of just sat there awkwardly. Usually she wouldn't go out of her way to talk to stangers, but her curiosity had gotten the better of her. She even postponed her trip to see if she could talk to him. And yet...

"Um, that's all I came to ask. I'll get going now. Bye."

She got up, turned around and was almost out of the room when Levi spoke, "Thank you, Diana."

She paused at the door and a small smile formed on her lips, "That's alright." Then she left back outside.

For a while, Levi laid there waiting. 5 minutes later Javiel returned, "My Master said he'd see you when you're feeling a bit better and can talk more."

Levi nodded.

"Well, you better get some rest. I'll check on you later," Javiel said and then he left the room.

Within moments, Levi had fallen asleep.

Over the next few days, Levi spent his time sleeping, listening to Javiel talk, and watching Diana awkwardly try to make conversation with him.

"Um, So you fell from the sky," said Diana, "What happened? Oh! Only if you don't mind me asking."

At this point, Levi was able to sit up. For a moment, he pondered what to tell her. He didn't really want to tell her he was a god and that he came from the divine realm. Eventually he settled on a half truth, "I was banished from where I lived and got thrown out, literally."

"I'm so sorry," Diana replied.

Levi put on a self-depreciating smile, "Nah, don't be. I deserved it."

Diana was a little bit concerned so she quickly came up with a reply, "Well, whatever you did, I'm sure you did it for a reason."

Levi paused and properly looked at her for the first time. She had light brown hair that went down to her shoulders and hazel coloured eyes with slightly tan skin. She wasn't as beautiful as some women he'd seen, but she was quite good looking nonetheless. At this moment she looked a bit worried, wondering if she had said something wrong.

"Thanks Diana," Levi finally replied.

Right then, a knock came from the door.

"Come in," said Levi.

The door slid open and Javiel came in followed by another older gentleman dressed in a formal white robe.

Javiel introduced him, "This is Master Shen, master of the Leopard Dojo."

Levi did the best bow he could manage.

Master Shen spoke to his students, "Javiel, Diana, I'd like to speak to Mr. Levi alone."

Javiel and Diana quickly left.

"So, 'Mr. Levi'. Who are you really?"
