Aziya:
The guild looked like a church to Aziya, the beautifully stained windows made the world seem a lot more positive to her than ever, Aziya watched as people bowed to Ophelia and it started to make her wonder who Ophelia really was.
“Wow, it's amazing” Aziya smirked as she gently brushed her hand across the pillar beside them, “Seems more like a church than anything”
“Hey watch your tone around the guild master when he comes” Ophelia ushered her towards the last pillar where three people stood, “The King also wanted to hear our story about the encounter”
“May the god prevail” A person dressed like a priest stepped forward, her hand were outstretched as she reached forward and patted Aziya’s hands “You have been through a lot dear, My name is Sister Mary but you can call me Mary”
“Nice to meet you Mary” Aziya pulled her hand away from the kind looking lady, though she was kind looking there was an ominous feeling that was surrounding the priest. She turned to the last two people and said,“And you are?”
“Watch who your speaking to child” The first man said, reaching his hand out to shake “You are in the presence of the sixth child of the late emperor of Alagadda, his highness Toumare”
“At ease Avern” Toumare smiled at Aziya, Aziya realised that with all the years living in the slum section of the kingdom she developed a way to see genuine feeling, it chilled her heart that Toumares smile did not reach his eyes “Let us hear your encounter with the Unkown one, but first we must move to a more suited location”
Aziya followed the rest of the behind the statue which led them to a small room filled with stained glass. Sitting down in one of the many couches that was squished into the cramped room. Across from her both Toumare and Avern sat down relaxed as Mary poured the four of them tea before pouring a cup for herself. Toumare started to drink his tea as Avern questioned her, Aziya answered the questions one by one, Toumare didn’t start to get interested until Avern got to the questions on Hunter.
“Did this boy tell you his name?” Avern questioned
“He called himself Hunter, He saved us from the Wendigo” Aziya continued as she drank a bit of her tea, she felt the tension rise as Toumare had placed his cup down on the table in front of them “He used black coil-like rope to kill Camazotz-”
“Camazotz?” Mary had interrupted her
“That’s what he called it” Aziya said, turning her head to Mary, who had started to look through the bookshelf that had suddenly appeared at Mary’s side, Holding a newer looking book compared to the rest of the ones on the shelves. “How did you do that?”
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
“Oh, of course you wouldn’t know dear.” Mary giggled as she handed the book to Aziya, who started to flip through the book and saw photographs that seemed to have descriptions underneath each of them “Take a look and then try to guess”
“Mary.. We don’t have time-” Avern had started to say
“Oh I didn’t hear that dear, what did you say?” Mary was smiling but the atmosphere in the room had gotten more tense and it felt like she had somehow turned the room temperature colder, this shut Avern up.
“Aziya looked up and saw it did look like the Wendigo had gone through a change, its limbs now lengthened and it’s bony structure looked thinner than usual, its arms now had a leathery flap that held it to its leg.
“And we call this one Camazotz,” Hunter had said in awe of the creature that looked down at them “Or translated Night Hunter, or Death night” Aziya eyes widened as she watched the picture start to move as if were a recording “You got this from my memories?”
“Yes and no” Mary finally sat down beside her “My ability is derived from my eye’s, with perception I can watch and perceive things the way I want to”
“Ok?” Aziya was a little confused, her head felt funny from everything that Mary just said.
Mary sighed and raised her hand and the bookshelf disappeared and reappeared to the side of the couch and pulled out another book and handed it to Aziya “Our little secret that you can keep I suppose?”
Aziya flipped the book open and caught a glimpse of the being that called itself Tore, and quickly closed it, and turned to Mary. Mary simply giggled her off as she handed the book with the Camazotz to Toumare and Avern.
“That is interesting” Toumare murmured as he flipped through the pages. His eyes locked on Hunter the entire time. He got up and headed to the exit ”He escaped Avern, alert the city capital and all borders, especially my brothers”
“Aye” Avern bowed his head to Toumare as the King who didn’t look like a king strolled out and away from the room humming a tune she hadn’t heard for a long time.
“What was that about?” Aziya asked as she realised that the pressure had not been emitting from Mary but Toumare the entire time. Her hands shook as if they finally felt the shock of Toumare’s presence after he left the room “Who is he?”
Mary, Avern and Ophelia and sighed in unison, Mary put a hand on Aziya’s shoulder and patted her head, “He is a monster that should’ve stay imprisoned”
“He’ll wish he did after I find him” Ophelia grinded her teeth, “I should’ve known it was him. DAMMIT!”
“Why is he a monster?” Aziya’s curiosity peaked as everyone started cursing under their breath
“He’s worse for the crime he commited” Avern said in his deep gravelly voice “He was the sole reason that the kings joined together, He was the one who killed all seven empresses and murdered the emperor right in front of his siblings, You call him Hunter, but we all know him as a different name ‘Todesgebunden’”
“Everywhere he goes he will produce nothing but desolation and despair” Mary shook her head, she continued pitifully “His own mother went mad and committed after saying that she couldn’t stand living as the mother of the demon”
Avern got up and led them out the door, he stopped Aziya as they got to the front of the Guild hall “Aziya, listen… it would be better if you forgot about him completely… He sows the seeds of madness into whoever encounters him”
Aziya nodded and silently followed Ophelia back to the inn they were staying at, she held the book Mary close to her chest, Hunter...Todesgebunden...Monster. If he were these things then who would be the hero? She opened the book and read the first sentence that was added as the description of a picture of Tora guiding what seemed like a child past the door she stood by. Her heart filled with hope as she read the simple sentence,“Help everyone even if they don't deserve it; Kindness will always be repaid.” She knew her role, If Hunter bought desolation and despair then she would be the one to bring happiness and hope.
