Faith boarded a shuttle and sat in the cargo area which was blacked out form revealing any hint of where they were going. There were no window ports, no computer access, a noise and momentum surpassing field was activated so you could not hear or feel the craft maneuver which farther concealed the location they were fly too. Faith had heard the not even the Admiral of the Fleet knew the location of the implant hospital.

There were no shuttle pilots, the shuttles were automatically piloted with the location coordinates in a heavily encrypted file. Not even the hospital workers knew where they worked.

The hospital was one of the most secure locations in the Empire.

The flight time was six hours but Faith had a suspicion that it was much closer and for all she knew they were seating at the hospital landing field for much of the time, all to confuse her and everyone else.

Disembarking Faith found herself inside a metal bay that looked like a military ship bay. It could be just another way to confuse people and conceal the real location or it could really be a ship bay and they concealed or buried a real military ship.

Faith would not be surprised if that was true, it would be a good way to flee with all the secret equipment if Sedisca was ever invaded.

A medical officer was waiting for her beside the bay’s exit.

“Good day ma’am. Please no names or revealing information. Please follow me.”

Faith followed the medical officer as he turned and lead the way into the hospital. It really was a ship, Faith realized, as they made their way through dozens of metal corridors.

Faith did not see another person around and wondered if they cleared the route just for her visit.

Finally they arrived at a door with no markings, just like every door they passed, and the officer turned to her.

“Please go inside and follow the instructions given.”

Raising an eyebrow at the short command Faith turned and walked confidently towards the door which slide open on her approach.

Walking inside Faith found herself in a small circler room with just a medical bed in the center.

“SCS operator Harrington please remove your clothing and lay down on the medical bed.”

Faith was surprised at the command and looked around for the speaker.

“Who are you and I thought no names or information was given?”

“I am the medical AI and needed your full medical history to complete my assignment. So I know your complete physical and physiology profile and data.”

Faith blinked at that, she had countless evaluations and probably even more hidden evaluations that they did not inform her about.

Looking at the medical bed Faith flashed back to when she laid down on the medical bed in her work bay and started all of this. Gathering up her courage and hoping that completing the last step of SCS training would free her form the simulation Faith disrobed. Clenching her hands and holding her breath Faith walked towards the bed.

Looking down at the bed Faith let out the breath in a long deep exhale and took another breath to calm and focus herself. Without thinking further, she laid down on the soft warm mattress and waited.

Almost immediately she was unconscious.
