Individual training was what a SCS operator specialized in and though they had choice in what they specialized in the SCS evaluators had recommendations that new SCS operators were strongly encouraged to take under advisement.
Faith was unsurprised to learn flight training and engineering was recommended but was surprised that leadership specialization was also recommended. Along with advance demolitions, which made Faith laugh, and hand to hand combat and close quarters fighting.
Faith picked them all.
A civilian wanting to become a senior engineer on a large cargo ship would need an eight year course load at a proper school, the military had an accelerated course that could be completed in just a year, studying ten hours a day five days a week.
Flight training was usually a two year course but was condensed into a six month course.
Advanced demolitions was a six month course and close quarters fighting and leadership training were only a one month course each with hand to hand combat training an ongoing training regimen.
She was allowed to combine the engineering, flight training, and hand to hand combat courses for her first specialization training.
Training in hand to hand combat for three hours in the morning starting at o five hundred and then studying the engineering course work during the week and on the weekends studying flight training after morning hand to hand combat training.
This stretched out flight training to a full year but that just meant she would finish both her specializations at the same time.

Faith threw herself into training in her two most favorite subjects, flying and repairing. Faith’s extensive knowledge of engineering and years of hands on experience served her well in learning the condensed course load of a senior engineer.
Without the stress of having to really study the engineering course work Faith focused on learning flight training, something she only knew the basics of.
The next year flew by with Faith to busy learning to realize the passage of time, she did not have enough time to remember the time. Faith laughed at the absurdity.
Before she knew it another year had flown by and on completing the two heavy courses Faith had been inside the simulation for almost two and a half years.
In the real world a little less then nine days had passed form the time she had laid down on the medical bed.
Faith wondered how long it would take before her parents started calling and asking where she was. Sense she was almost an adult and planning to take the adult status test her parents were used to her gone but not for weeks.
Faith pushed that aside as she graduated with top marks and went onto advanced demolitions.
The following six months of course work was a breeze compared to the heavy course work she had been under and getting to set off explosions relived the stress of the last year.
Her enthusiasm at blowing stuff up seemed to worry the army trainers through SCS command was not concerned, SCS operators were screen heavily and a liking of explosions was almost required for SCS operators.
Following the course Faith went to the navy officer training school.
The special cruiser service branch was small so the SCS used the other branches of service for the majority of training SCS operators. Being under the Navy just made going to the Navy OTS school a requirement for SCS leadership specialization.
The condensed course was completed fast and her last specialization in close quarter combat just helped her refresh her training in weapons after a year of not using them.
This completed her special cruiser service specialization making Faith a full SCS operator with specializations leadership, engineering, flight, demolitions, close quarter combat, and hand to hand combat, which was an ongoing self training course.
On becoming a full operator it was time to receive her neurological implant.
