Chapter 3: Status

Chapter 3: Status

After passing out for a while, Qin Feng, who is currently lying on the ground with a red lump on his head, actually attracted the attention of a troublesome thing in this unknown world.

He started moaning due to something crushing him, it felt wet and keeps shaking at his abdomen. Although it was not enough to kill him, it still managed to bring in the pain.

He slowly opened his eyes filled with red veins. Although his eyes are still focusing, he could see something in his abdomen. It was green and gooey.

Glaring at the suspect, he suddenly started feeling familiarity about this thing. Lost in his thoughts, the green and gooey substance suddenly jumped and smashed its body again to Qin Feng’s abdomens.

Lost in his thoughts, the green and gooey substance suddenly jumped and smashed its body again to Qin Feng’s abdomen.

It hit him with a clean hit and he vomits due to the pain in his stomach. Qin Feng immediately threw a fist to this little monster while backing away. The punch managed contact with the gelatinous body of this thing but it looks like it was not that affected.

Qin Feng’s eye is currently wide open. Although he knew that he is not that strong. He was not that weak either.

He once more observed the thing in front of him with vigilance. Its height is just as tall as his legs. It doesn’t have eyes, ears or something but although it’s slow it could react to movements. The most noticeable characteristic of it is that it’s green and gooey.

He once more observed the thing in front of him with vigilance. Its height is just as tall as his legs. It doesn’t have eyes, ears, nose and even the mouth. Although it’s pretty slow, it could react to movements. The most noticeable characteristic of it is that it’s green and gooey.

Qin Feng might not be a genius but he is knowledgeable about unnecessary things.

“I thought I was back to the real world but I’m still in this nightmare huh. But looking at this guy in front of me that woke me up through the freaking pain. If I don’t know what this stupid guy is then I should just end my own life.”

Looking at the shaking green jelly in front of him, Qin Feng didn’t know if he should feel fear or just wryly smile due to cringe.

“There are a lot of monsters but why this cliché type of monster? It’s already mainstream in many games and now its front of me, attacking me like a rabid dog.”

Qin Feng was still a bit doubtful if this new world is now his reality but even it was a dream, this scene is already too overused. Transferred to another world, then fighting “slimes” at the beginning for newbies.

He sighs and looked at the shaking green slime in front of him. It seems like it was waiting for Qin Feng’s movement before it counters. Just as Qin Feng clenched his fist and started moving to throw a punch, he stopped.

The realization was like a thunder that is currently resounding on his head. If he is truly transferred to another world with slimes then it must have that great system that every transferred hero has.

Qin Feng clenched his butt for the cringe and shouted,

“STATUS!”

His voice resounding at the place, even the slime jumped away due to the sudden shout.

Qin Feng waited for several seconds but his face started turning red because of the thing he said. He looked at the shaking green slime that was waiting for him but in Qin Feng’s eyes, it must be dumbfounded to see a crazy guy like him shouting out of nowhere.

Qin Feng started feeling a surge of anger inside him but then a status screen suddenly appeared in front of him.

It startled him because in his mind this hopeful fantasy of his which is [Status], a game-like system that identifies your own levels, HP, Mana, and other attributes can only be found on games and LitRPG novels that he loved reading. In his innocent heart, if he ever had that chance to use [Status], then one of his life goals is completed.

When he shouted a cringe-worthy thing like [Status], he prepared for an outcome that he should keep his fantasies inside his head and when the status screen didn’t show up. He felt great disappointment even though he was prepared.

But when the actual status popped up suddenly in front of him when he was not ready, he was truly dumbfounded.

He didn’t expect that in his lifetime, he would experience the things that main characters do when they are transferred to another world.

Coming back to reality, he looked at the status screen in front of him.

[Status]

Name:  Qin Feng HP: 15/20 SP: 12/12 Skill list: Level: 1 MP: 0/0 STA: 6 [Status] Species: Human STR: 6 AGI: 8 [Appraisal]     INT: 12 WIS: 10 [???]     DEX: 8 DEF: 2   Unallocated points: 5

Looking at his status screen, he is currently grinning to the ear. Not because his attributes were overpowered but because of the status screen itself. He was too happy that he can do things like this that most games and novels have.

He really doesn’t have many reactions about his attributes since he knew his own limitations.

He looked at the screen for a while and he was a bit surprised that his “INT” and “WIS” is very high. He knows that these two means Intelligence and Wisdom but he still doesn’t know how these two attributes work in this world.

He then looked next at the skill list. He was not that surprised that [Status] was there since he used this skill to open up the status screen. The thing that made him much more excited is [Appraisal]. This skill is one of the topmost essential skills that a transferred person should have.

The thing that made him much more excited is [Appraisal]. This skill is one of the topmost essential skills that a transferred person should have.

[Appraisal] can help you identify things. You can learn the name of the object you are identifying and its uses. With [Appraisal], you can adventure like you have a special encyclopedia always with you.

Then he noticed the skill [???]. Qin Feng frowns and pondered why such skill is in his skill list. He stopped thinking about it after staring at it for a few seconds and will give a time for it later.

Then he saw some unallocated points right at the bottom of the screen. He still has 5 points to allocate but he didn’t know how. He tried dragging the number 5 to STR but it didn’t work out. He thought that the screen was touchscreen but his hands actually just passed through it.

He then moved to his second plan. He started concentrating his mind and think of increasing STR with 5 points. Then suddenly a small message appeared.

[Strength is increased by 5 points.]

[You have learned how to strengthen yourself through the allocation of points. You are now starting to look like a promising player. Good luck and welcome to this new world.]

[Rewards Acquired:]

[25% Experience]   [Title: Noob]

Qin Feng was satisfied when the second plan worked. If this method didn’t work then he didn’t know what to do at all.

If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

He then looked at the messages in front of him. It seems like he was really transferred into another world and it truly seems like it’s a LitRPG genre.

He liked the 25% experience gain because it will help him level up but when he saw the noob title.

Some blue veins appeared in his head but he calmed down immediately when he rationally thinks over the matter.

Even if he became angry due to this insult of being a noob, he can do nothing about it. Well, in a sense he is really a noob because he still doesn’t know much about this world. His point is why would the system even reward it as a title? A title like [Beginner] would be appropriate right?

Qin Feng sigh, he once again shouted [Status] to check everything again.

[Status]

Name:  Qin Feng HP: 15/20 SP: 12/12 Skill list: Level: 1 MP: 0/0 STA: 6 [Status] Species: Human STR: 11 AGI: 8 [Appraisal]  Title:  Noob INT: 12 WIS: 10 [???]     DEX: 8 DEF: 2   Unallocated points: 0

He looked at the screen carefully and confirmed that the STR is currently in 11 points. He didn’t know if anything really changed to his strength but he can find out once he tries.

He then tried to close the [Status] through his mind and it suddenly disappeared in front of him. He was astonished because it’s now responsive than the last time he opened it.

Qin Feng is currently confused why the status board didn’t appear immediately when he shouted the last time but deep in his thoughts he is shouting this,

“This f*cking system might be fooling around with me…. No! It must be doing it purposely to make me like I’m a big joke. I won’t ever shout something like [STATUS] again.”

Qin Feng’s eyes are currently burning with anger and even the green slime is slowly moving backward due to the intense hostility of the crazy guy in front of it.

Qin Feng then looked at the green slime in front of him. He was even more confused on why this little guy is not taking advantage of the moment that he was very open when he was checking his status.

He thought it was dumb because it can only attack in one pattern. (Maybe it was afraid due to your craziness.)

He then thought of something useful. He wanted to try out the other skill, [Appraisal], to this jelly monster. Qin Feng concentrated his mind to the green slime.

“[Appraisal]”

Qin Feng said this in his mind because he doesn’t want to embarrass himself more. A status board showed up in front of him showing some information about the green slime that is currently shaking its body for some reason in front of him.

Name: Green Slime HP:10/10 Skill List: Level: 1 MP:0/0 [Physical Resistance]

He took a sigh of relief because it seems like the green slime won’t put him in too much danger except the defense skill. He then took a deep breath and calmed his mind. He decided that today will be the first time he will ever kill a monster and it will be a cliché monster.

Qin Feng put himself in a street fighting stance which is pretty much full of weak points but this is the only thing he can show right now. He clenched his fist and prepared to launch it off at any moment. The Green Slime noticed his hostility so it started moving back more.

The Green Slime noticed his hostility so it started moving back more.

“That’s right! Prepare that non-existent face of yours, you cliché monster!”

Qin Feng valiantly said. This is his only way to calm himself because although it was just a weak monster in his eyes, he still felt some fear towards it and his current actions. It’s not like he was fighting of weird monsters when he was on Earth so it’s to be expected that he feel the reluctance to do the things that he was not used to doing.

It’s not like he was fighting weird monsters when he was on Earth so it’s to be expected that he feel the reluctance to do the things that he was not used to doing.

But his current motivation to fight this monster is that he can feel his blood pumping in his veins due to the excitement. He can feel the adrenaline rushing throughout his body. He felt this many times when he was still a child but when he grew, he no longer felt something like this that will make his life less boring.

Qin Feng’s calm face suddenly changed. His lips turn into a wide smile then started launching the clenched fist straight to the green slime.

The green slime reacted but it was too late to escape.

The punch collided with the slime and it flew a few feet away from Qin Feng. He looked at his fist, currently flowing with power that made his blood boil more. He felt the strength of that punch was double the power than the last one. He then saw a number that popped out on the top of the green slime.

[-2]

With a little thought, he understood that this was the damage he dealt with the slime. -2 seem pretty low because his strength is currently at 11 points but the reason might be due to the skill of the green slime which is [Physical Resistance].

The green slime immediately stabilizes its body to the ground.

It suddenly pounced to Qin Feng with great force.

It seems like it's trying hard to survive this ordeal.

Qin Feng immediately reacted to its sudden movement but due to his lack of experience in fighting monsters. He didn’t dodge the attack but instead, shield himself with his two thin arms.

 [-2]

He saw this red number appearing in front of him. It was the received damage and he saw his HP decreasing by 2. He currently has 13 HP and he doesn’t want it to fall more.

He doesn’t even need to think about what will happen when it reached 0. He imagined that it will be a huge [GAME OVER] in front of him.

He felt his arms a bit numb due to the crushing force that the slime did. Although it was obviously a weak monster, he was also a weak human.

His only advantage is that he has a better thinking process so he needs to use it more.

After a bit of numbness is that pain from the bruises that he received. He didn’t think more of this and started taking this fight more seriously.

Qin Feng launched a right straight and the green slime didn’t have enough speed to move away.

 [-2]

The slime’s body flew a few feet away from him again but Qin Feng still didn’t relax. He started rushing with a left and right jab to the slime that is currently stabilizing itself again.

[-1]

 [-1]

He was confused for a second on why the damage was low but then came to realize that although the strength attribute made him stronger, he still can’t control that strength carefully.

He always uses his dominant hand which is his right hand and due to familiarity, he can control his strength more in this part of his body.

The slime pounced away and tried to escape. Qin Feng then rushes towards it before it escapes too far. He then threw a full-powered right straight while rushing to the slime.

[Fatal Strike]

[-3]

His fist made contact with the slime but he was surprised that he actually punched something hard on the slime’s body. It was not like the feeling he had when punching it earlier. The feeling felt gross because of the jelly and sticky feeling but his latest punch felt like his hand going to break due to punching a rock.

The feeling felt gross because of the jelly and sticky feeling but his latest punch felt like his hand going to break due to punching a rock.

The numbness alleviated and the burning pain started to occur. He shed a bit of tear because it was truly painful. Try punching a wall with all the force you can ever muster and you can feel the pain he is currently undergoing.

“Wuu… wuuuuu.”

Blowing at his swollen first, Qin Feng looked at the slime lying on the ground in front of him. He saw its body deforming for some reason. Its body was like it was slowly turning into a puddle. After staring at it for a few seconds, it was now like a puddle of green sticky water.

After staring at it for a few seconds, it was now like a puddle of green sticky water.

He saw something in the puddle. It was like a small round red stone that was broken a bit.

“It must be that “nucleus” that almost every slime had. It’s the weakest point of a slime and once it’s broken, the slime will immediately fall like it was nothing. I was too excited due to this RPG-like battle that I actually forgot such essential method of defeating these fodders for the newbies.”

Qin Feng said to himself. He reminded himself that he needs to calm himself more and not let his emotions take control.

“This little red stone might be useful later on. Although it’s sticky and gross, I will just wipe it with some grass then put it in my pocket.”

His body is full of bruises and he can’t do anything about it since he doesn’t have the tools to disinfect it.

Qin Feng dusted his clothes a bit then started moving forward again. He didn’t know where he will go now so, for now, he will try and find the main road.
