When I wake up its early morning and I hear the sound of rain patter against the glass of my window softly. I slowly crawl out of bed and shuffle slowly over to the mirror and study my disheveled appearance my long brown hair is now free from its ponytail which held it in place yesterday causing it to fall across my shoulders and give me and almost wild look due to how messy it is.
I shrug my shoulders and walk over to the nightstand by my bed and retrieve the simple hair tye that held my hair in place and gather my hair back into its ponytail and turn to leave the room and head downstairs. As I walk down the flight of stairs into the tavern I look around and see that even though it is quite early people have already started to gather here. Standing at the foot of the stairs I hear someone coming down behind me and turn around to see who it is and see that it is Thomas who greets me with a warm smile and invites me to join him for breakfast in the dining hall.
After we are seated by one of the barmaids Thomas orders his breakfast, a large ale with smoked venison and some watery oatmeal, and then looks to me. I give the maid a slight smile and just tell her to bring me a small bowl of oatmeal before she quickly nods and runs off to get our meals.
"So how did you sleep last night?" Thomas leans on as we wait for the food to arrive. I give him a bright smile and tell him I slept great and I thank him for paying for the rooms.
"It's no big deal, it wouldn't feel right to me if I had made you pay for your own room when you don't even know about anything where you are or who you are for that matter," he says sincerely.
"Thank you very much, I promise to repay you for your kindness when I am able to," I reply avoiding the fact that he said I didn't know whom I was because I do but it wouldn't be proper for me to say the truth about me being an angel, a fallen one at that so I think I'll just play the part of an amnesiac.
Shortly after our food arrives and we sit in silence as we eat. I don't really feel like eating or feel hungry at all for that matter so I kinda just play around with my food and observe the room around me. In the corner, there is a group of middle-aged men with sun-bleached clothes and tanned muscular figures, probably farmers. Standing at the bar is another man with a long tattered traveling cloak with a sword strapped to his side talking to the barkeeper while drinking a pint of some sort of alcohol.
Thomas eventually looks up from his food and sees me surveying the room and taps my arm bringing me back my attention to him. "Hey are you feeling okay," he asks, "you haven't touched your food is something bothering you?"
I shake my head and say, "No, it's nothing at all, I'm just thinking." and start to eat my oatmeal slowly. Thomas laughs and shakes his head before finishing off his ale and standing up, "I'm going to leave for a little bit, I have some business to attend to try to keep out of trouble as I am the one currently looking after you and I would hate to figure out you've gotten into trouble as soon as I leave you alone."

I laugh softly and assure him that I will stay out of trouble. He reaches into his pouch and places some coins on the table to pay for our meal and tells me that I should walk around the town a bit to see if my memory comes to back to me at all and that he would be back in a couple of hours and then leaves.
I eventually finish my oatmeal and slowly get up and go upstairs and grab my dagger, cloak, and pouch of coins. Apparently I have about 1,000 Soms which is equivalent to a small fortune to within the Empire of Ostra. During my carriage ride with Thomas, he explained to me a bit about this world's currency and that there are 3 different types of coins. There is the lowest type of currency the copper Megac which is 1/100 of a silver Ekeas which in turn is 1/10 of a golden Som.
I secure the pouch and dagger to my belt and put on my cloak and head back downstairs and wave goodbye to the innkeeper before stepping outside into the rain. I walk down the main street slowly and look around at different shops and stalls which are still set up even though it's currently raining.
As I am walking I come across a certain stall that catches my attention, at this stall is an older gentleman sitting next to a large machine looking thing. As I approach I notice that in fact it is indeed a machine that some other realms of humanity have already mastered and have begun to integrate into their daily lives but there was something different about this one as it was completely silent and did not seem to eject any gas or vapors. I could tell in fact that it was running do to the fact that the man was doing a demonstration to a group of people who had started to gather around.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, today before you is something completely new and will help us advance into the next age of magical equipment creation, allow me to show you," the man exclaims excitedly and starts fiddling with a control panel embedded within the machine and then a soft humming noise can be heard followed with a quite ding noise as the machine goes completely silent again.
The man walks over to the front of the machine and grabs a small tile which had seems to have come from the machine and holds it up for the audience to see, "This machine can quickly engrave magic circles into almost any surface within minutes perfect for adventures to carry around |Healing Runes| instead of having to wait for to draw one out. Instead, all you need to do is inject some mana into said premade tablet and it will instantly activate the spell."
The crowd applauds loudly and several young men try to approach the man to try and purchase some tablets. I smile and continue walking, "Humans are interesting creatures, honestly don't they yet understand that they can use their own mana directly to heal any wound they may receive better and quicker than any spell they could think of?"
I continue to walk for a while before reaching a large majestic looking building that is rich with strong and diverse mana. I walk inside the building and am greeted with a rush of warm wind and the sounds of a woman yelling at me not to move. I stop in my tracks and look around confused and see a beautiful woman wearing a simple blue and white dress with long golden hair charging toward me.
"Don't move any further wait right there mister!" she exclaims and chants a spell, "[Rush of Southern Wind]!!"
I am blasted with a wall of warm, dry wind that causes me to fall over, but then I also notice that my cloak is now entirely dry and I'm no longer soaked from the rain. The woman then smiles smugly and approaches me and extends her hand to help me up but I just shake my head and stand myself up and pat myself off.
