Looking down the cliff Adam stared bewildered at the creature below that either didn't notice them or did not care about them, the creature was very bear like though its body looked a little slimmer and longer than a bear as it stood on its hind legs and stared at the river that continued on, though muscles still bulged through its fur.
Its fur was dark brown however upon a closer look Adam noticed that its hairs had a shade of dark green to it, there was also a splotch of green fur around its eyes that looked like eyeliner, what made Adam panic slightly was the bear creature's tail or better said tails, there were three protrusions going out of its back and seemingly digging into the dirt.
The creature barely even twitched, only occasionally slightly moving its head to stare along the river as if waiting for something, Adam decided to wait and observe, his curiosity was too much to try and run away when there was a magical creature in front of him, and it wasn't trying to eat him.
The cliff was also quite steep and about 9-10 meters tall so there was the question of can it even reach him, though Adam honestly wouldn't be surprised if it could just hop on up to him at this point due to his many imaginations.
He stayed there for about 10 seconds before his head twisted around after he thought he heard more water splashing than usual, and to his surprise it wasn't him just imagining things looking down below where the river continued he could see dozens no hundreds of fish that were about 30 centimeters in length jumping out of the river and down back into it going straight for the cliff edge, while being led by a particularly big blue fish.
Taking a closer look he realized that the fish were much like the salmon back on earth, the only real difference was size and the color of the scales on their back which were mostly light blue with some having a little light green dotted around, which he only noticed when they were already a couple meters away from the bear and the waterfall.
He was a bit stunned and didn't realize that he had let go of the puppy until he noticed that he was next to him while staring at the fish 'Why the hell are the fish going straight for a death trap like this? Is that blue fish leading them to the bear on purpose? No way right? That's got to be the biggest betrayal I've ever seen... amusing, no wait a second... Is... Is the river changing directions??'
Sadly, he didn't have time to properly see what was happening as the leading fish approached the waterfall just in time to see that the three tails on its back rip out of the earth revealing their branch like features about the width of a grown man's wrist that kept dancing like snakes before bolting towards the jumping fish behind the leading one and spearing them through with their sharp ends.
Skewering the fish one by one with each tail, it seemed like it was going to pierce through all the fish sooner or later, but once the true onslaught of fish came Adam realized that no matter how many it caught it wouldn't dent the population at all, especially after he looked back and saw no end to the horde.
However, just as he looked back trying to see what the bear was doing he noticed the big blue fish had gotten right beneath the waterfall, 'What's it doing?' the time it took Adam to formulate that thought was about the time it took for the leading fish to make its move as it burst out of the water and flew into the air.
'Oh baby...' Adam kept staring at the elongated wooden tails dancing in the air before pouncing on the many fish like a snake and stabbing through like a spear, the fish themselves could not do anything about it, rarely surviving with a scratch, a scratch that wasn’t a whole piece of their body missing.
He wanted to look a while longer, but he was interrupted by a bark, for a moment his heart stopped as his head zipped around to see the puppy barking at the fish before he turned back and sighed a breath of relief when he realized that the bear did not seem to care or mind about the puppy's barks.
*Splash*
Just as he was about to turn around he heard the splash of water as the drops of the liquids sprayed all over his face stunning him for a second 'What the *bleep*' (Actually thought of the bleeping sound not censored)
There right before him, right at the start of the water fall a fish plopped into the water and with it like the flow of the river wanted to break physics the water followed it as it changed directions from downwards to upwards making gravity look like an absolute fool.
Adam immediately grabbed Hunter and jumped back, afraid that the magic may be launched at them, but the water merely continued flowing upwards while the fishes that were not caught by the bear and his wooden tails began to swim up the waterfall.
However after a couple seconds passed Adam realized that he wasn't currently in any danger, the bear clearly only cared about the fish and the food meanwhile the fish only cared about getting pass and didn't attack the bear nor did it seem like it would attack him, actually it seems like both creatures didn't care that Adam and Hunter were there as if they were invisible.
Adam's thoughts swirled in his mind while his lips pressed together, after realizing that he was safe his eyes couldn't help but bulge at this sight before him, after all he was seeing a fish reverse the flow of a waterfall and break that which is natural in the world he lived in before, and if he just looked a bit to his right he would see a bear controlling its wooden tails and use them like spears while they moved and twisted like snakes.

Such a scene till now could only be witnessed by him in works of fantasy that were either in the form of movies or animations, however Adam couldn't help but be brought back by the reality of his situation right before he slipped into his usual daydreams, Adam swallowed his thoughts and emotions, such as excitement and fear, and moved his gaze around.
'I need to take advantage of this situation, otherwise I might die of hunger, after all it seems like the magical fish doesn't care if the bear takes some of its brethren's lives, so why would it care if I took one or two as well?' Adam encouraged himself while he walked closer to the river after he gently put Hunter down on the ground.
Slowly he walked closer and closer as the fish began to reach the top of the waterfall, as he came closer he noticed the leading fish swimming in circles at the edge of the currently reverse waterfall... or the start of it? What do you even call a waterfall where the water doesn't fall? A water-rise? Either way...
Adam stopped about a meter from the river contemplating 'How can I catch some fish... spear? No, it would take too long? Net? Where can I buy one... Can I catch them with my hands?’ a memory of an amusing video popped up in his head ‘That... sounds stupid, but I don't think I have any other options.' Meanwhile, Hunter took a single glance and before Adam could react, he leaped into the river and towards the few fish that already made it up the waterfall.
Adam ran right after Hunter and leaped into the river without second thought, so what if he gets wet, he'll just walk around naked until it gets cold by then his clothes would dry probably, or even better he'll get a fire going, anyhow the consequences aren't important, two splashes of water were heard the louder one not even two seconds after the smaller one.
Hunter elegantly and quickly swam through the water reaching a fish rather quickly and snapping down on its tail before it could escape, on the other hand there was Adam who clumsily pulled his head out of the water and anxiously grabbed Hunter with his healthy hand to pull him out, as he did so Hunter kept a good hold on the fish causing the fish that was about as long as Hunter is to be brought out high into the air with him.
Adam coughed out the water that got in his mouth as he swam out of the river, thankfully the flow of the river was broken by the magical fish, so they didn't get pushed off the cliff by the water.
Pulling himself out, Adam sat Hunter down away from the water while he carefully paid attention to the fish and what it was doing, the fish seemed to be unbothered by their presence nor did it seem like it would attack them with magic yet, seeing this a thought crossed Adam's mind 'What if it isn't the one controlling the water... It could be a natural phenomenon,' Adam thought for a second before shaking the thought away and checking on Hunter.
Adam was very quickly surprised by Hunter that was sitting with a dangling fish in his mouth, he stared wide-eyed for a moment before petting the puppy with a smile "Good job", he turned around with a serious face again 'so it won't attack huh...' with the thought Adam didn't think for much longer before he stepped into the river again after he took of his clothes to dry, not like anyone would see him, the river was shallow enough for him to walk in though it did reach up to his belly
Though his feet would get muddy, a dumb desperate part of his brain though it would help cover and protect the small cuts on his feet from infection, whether he was right or dumb as a brick he didn't know, either way he slowly got to a point in the river where the fish would usually pass where he decided to stop completely, focus took over his mind ‘If I remember right I need to let the body heat in my arm cool...' he lowered his non-burnt hand gently into the cold water.
'The fish won't approach a warm object' he thought as he extended his hands farther from his body and stood almost completely still for the next 7 minutes, in which some things happened, firstly the bear below had left having long since caught his fill, this happened within the first 3 minutes, in the next minute or so Hunter went further up stream after he saw the main leading fish leave and be replaced by another.
Hunter however did not leave too far, whether he lost interest in the fish or he did not want to leave Adam alone was unknown, but he could be seen a couple meters away swimming occasionally with a fish in his jaws, during this time the fish tide continued as if their numbers were endless, at the seventh minute Adam's hands were ice-cold and a fish had approached them.
*Splash*
With a swift movement, Adam grabbed it by the gills and threw it out of the river next to Hunter who was dragging two other fish by their tails before he took a seat and waited for Adam to finish, which he did after another fish approached his hand about a minute later.
Glancing over at Hunter he saw two whole fish next to him and three broken and cracked skeletons of fish, 'Seriously he ate three whole fish? Did I really take that long? Man I suck at fishing...' shaking his head Adam kneeled down next to Hunter to pat him and get a closer look at Hunter's fish as he noticed something that looked kind of off.
Adam poked the fish as he touched something cold around the rather pinkish bite marks that Hunter left 'Huh... Ice?' He picked out a tiny shard of ice from the wound which quickly melted on his finger.
Thinking back the hawk was able to control flames while the fish controlled the water, in this new world Adam currently knew very little off who was to say that something couldn't wield ice?
Now the question was whether it was this particular fish or if its Hunter, and after inspecting the two carcasses further and Hunter's jaw he came to a conclusion 'It was lil' hunt, the fish only had ice in and around their wounds, meanwhile Hunter had some particles of frozen water and blood on his fur, which after a bit of panic Adam confirmed wasn't Hunter's.
Adam thought for a second while he calmed his emotions by petting Hunter's slightly moist fur, he shrugged before talking to Hunter "Hey lil' hunt, could you freeze the fish?" of course the more simple minded animal just tilted its head to the side not understanding what was asked of it.
Adam scratched his chin for a second before picking up some ice and showing it to Hunter after he put his two fish next to Hunter's, he then blew on the fishes, Hunter watched for a second before he seemed to take a guess at what it was being asked to do.
Hunter sat up and walked over to the fish, with his tongue out and as he positioned himself puffs of cold mist began to leave his jaws and cover the four fish, Adam's heart filled up with fascination as he watched this spectacle in front of him.
