Chapter 3 - The Third Chapter

My eyes were focused solely on the very bird right in front of me. I am filled with uncertainty as few droplets of sweat flowed down my cheek. I am gripping the wooden stick with a certain amount of firmness, ensuring that I am wielding the tool properly on my hand.

I calmed my heart down and did some deep breaths as I continue looking at the sleeping bird. The bird is ordinary in size, just like any normal looking bird you see in a bird. Just... that color... and that tattoo. My head is thinking of many different birds but none of them for the bird I am looking at.

Even those birds I have seen in a Bird Encyclopedia when I was a kid; looking at the many birds shown in the book, there was a thick volume of pages with many birds but even so, I still can't remember even seeing that bird in the book. I admit I don't have a good memory and it doesn't give a good example, but I feel that I should have come across some birds that were unusually striking that gave a lasting impression to others and would have noticed it.

Especially this very bird. But it's not there in the book. Oh, but even if I have seen some of those weird birds in the book, I did not really check their names so I won't be able to know the birds' names, though. But it doesn't really matter for now since this bird is not even related to the encyclopedia itself.

It's really weird to see something unknown. Can I really test my luck and try to involve myself with this bird? I hope it's not dangerous. Why shouldn't I just run away instead? Will there even be a benefit in doing something like this? My legs are just simply standing still and fixed to the ground, not even having the urge to run away.

I hope this means that my instinct is telling me that is is no need to run away. No wait, think properly. Do you really want to do this? Ugh. I can't help it! My curiosity is overwhelming my own sense of security. Furthermore, such a small bird couldn't possibly hurt me, right? Yup yup. That is definitely the case. I should think positively. I nodded my head several times as I continually try to convince myself on having the resolve in going through the entire process I had in mind.

If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

I managed to calm myself as I continue looking at the bird. Now that I look closely at this bird, it looks really cute. Although with the black tattoos and a red body giving off a much cooler and stylish appearance, the bird still gives a small bit of cuteness due to the portable and small size for such a bizarre and weird bird. The fiery red feathers and strange tattoos don't seem to fit the small size its current body entails. The more I look at it, the cuter I find it to be.

For some reason, in my eyes, there were some strange sparklers around the bird making the 'awe' factor even bigger. So awesome! I wonder if I can keep it as a pet? Now that I think about it, I don't even have a pet before. Some of my friends did mention that raising a pet is not easy which I think is definitely true. After all, there are many problems arising as you look after your pet such as feeding and its own potty training.

I understand all that and will go the extra mile to give that bird my whole love towards it. Thankfully, there doesn't seem to be a tag of some sort around one of its legs. I hope that there is no owner to the bird and chances are that this bird is from the wild.

It's also a part of my curiousness, but I wonder just how much the bird costs if I were to sell it to a bird collector. Of course, if it's actually from the wild and I was to have that bird, I will never sell it. But I'm still curious just what are the amount of money would be needed for the bird. The higher the costs, the higher I will raise the bird with preciousness.

The only thing I would worry most would be my family. Would they accept me having a pet? I think they would be fine with me having one as long as I look after it properly so it should be okay I guess.

I might not be a perfect owner but I will give it my all to raise a pet! My eyes were now clear with determination as I looked at the bird with the impression of a controlling ownership towards the bird. Thinking that to myself, I shout loudly in my mind 'You are mine, birdy!'
