Chapter 1 - Start of the Very First Chapter!

I am currently focusing my eyes on the very object that is approximately 20 - 30 cm away from me. The object is unusually bizarre and I had no way of knowing what it would be. Not to my knowledge anyways. That object is laying on the floor, seemingly asleep while having a contented face clearly shown from its appearance. No, I should not call it an object.

That is a living thing. That is a... bird? Yes, it's a bird. But it's all red and fiery. I have no idea which species that bird belongs to due to my disinterest to birds or mostly to everything in general. However, even so, I truly feel that this bird is particularly strange. A red fiery bird might have been fine and all, but there were strange black patterns like a tattoo imprinted around the bird's bodies, particularly it's wings.

I am truly curious of the weird tattoos as I do not think any birds have that kind of stuff at its wings' portion. I decided to move my head and look around my surroundings to get a grasp on the situation. I am currently sitting on a bench within a park that I have been frequenting most of the time, particularly during the past 2 years. I looked up towards the sky and my view was filled with a complete blue scenery with portions of white clouds floating about in the sky.

I admire the scenery as I let out a gentle sigh at the beautiful blue sky while planting my hands up to the sky, trying to touch those clouds with my very own hands. Such thoughts were obviously impossible, however, I did it even so due to the temptation I had within me. I grasped upon nothing as I reached out my hands, grabbing air as I closed my hands.

A few seconds later, I slowly placed my hands down and looked back at the bird. It was still sleeping, with a bubble appearing from its nose and a number of 'Z's showing up above its head. I move my head to the left and scanned the area with grasses and trees. There, I noticed a wooden stick which I found would be incredibly useful for times like this. It was laid there with a wide amount of leaves under it. It should have fallen from the tree above and was dropped there along with the leaves.

I took it without reserve and hit the ground slightly with the stick, trying to remove the leaves that were stuck to the stick. The leaves came off easily, along with some amount of dust and dirt that were stuck to the wooden stick. I raised my arm to have it be placed at eye level before focusing on the stick. The wooden stick is thin and long but comparably sturdy enough for a person to use it as a prop, or a cane to walk. It seems to be useful for elderlies to rely on the stick for walking without worrying about the stick breaking.

I nod my head as I was satisfied with the stick that was held in my hands, smiling happily at the tool I had obtained. I glanced back towards the bird. Yes. It was still asleep. I move my feet slowly, one at a time. Moving at a slow speed but with steady footsteps, ensuring that there is no sound emitted from careless missteps. No. Wait a minute. Before I started moving another step forward, I looked back down the ground in front of me. Whenever a person is trying to be careful, they would step on 'something' without realizing and emit a sound to the surroundings.

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

As I looked towards the ground, I grimaced as I realized that there were some twigs and branches laying in front of my path. Fortunately, I had noticed it sooner or I would had stepped on it unknowingly. Hehe, I can now avoid any sounds now since I can plan on my own steps carefully. I continue onwards with steady steps before arriving at the obstacle course (twigs and branches). Seriously. Why is there no one clearing the park's walking road? This is a park road for people to walk by, so what's with this amount of twigs and branches all over the place? It's as though no one had bothered to clear the area from the overall surroundings.

Then again, this could be called environmental or natural littering produced by mother nature, so not many people would really notice it since they would usually step it unconsciously without a second thought. Normally, I would not have been bothered with it, or even noticed it in the first place since it's something natural you would find in a park. But not right now. Right now would be bad to step on them. I move my feet upwards in the air, trying to land a spotless ground with no objects laying on the floor.

I smiled to myself as I found the spot to lay my feet on, placing some strength into my leg while planting into the spotless ground while trying to be accurate. However, it was as though luck was trying to be mean to me, there was a sudden wind blowing towards me. The twigs that originally lay still, came towards my feet's landing spot and my face was filled with complete astonishment. I could not stop my feet anymore as my leg was not listening to my brain properly due to the strength that was placed on my feet. I could not halt the kinetic energy from my leg in time, having no other choice but to have the feet be landed on the now not 'spotless' ground, filled with twigs.

*Crunch* The sound was emitted from the feet that had stepped onto the twigs. My face had grown pale as I slowly try to calm myself down. I shakingly moved my head at a slow speed and looked up ahead at the bird. It was... still asleep. Haaaa... That was nerve wrecking. I let out a deep sigh of relief and looked towards the sky. 'Why are you being so mean to me, Wind!!' I shouted loudly within my mind as I looked towards nothingness, but decided to target the sky as a form of a short release on venting my thoughts.

I pouted a little bit, especially with that unlucky situation I was in earlier. Just how bad of a luck was it to have the wind time it exactly when I was trying to step down? I grumbled for just awhile longer and this time around decided to walk in a more casual way while trying my best to conceal my footstep sounds. Thankfully, though, I managed to reach my destination, the bird.

I did some spinning motions with the wooden stick in a flashy manner before making a sudden stop, with the end facing towards the bird. I gulped to myself as I prepared for the outcome I have been expecting for, trying to embrace myself for the inevitable. 'Alright then, here I go!' With the intention of giving a slight poke to the bird that was currently sleeping, I tried to ready myself for the 'soon-to-be-woken' bird.
