2 - NULL. Arc 1 & 2 Q&A.

Hello and thanks for reading the first two arcs! I hope you’ve enjoyed thus far. We’ll be answering a few questions that have come up - at least, the ones that aren’t major spoilers!

Q: The moon? The days? Please explain.

A: Some of this is mentioned in 1-3. Here’s a quick rundown. There are twenty hour days.

The blue moon ( also known as the pale moon ) revolves around the planet three times per day, meaning the blue moon is in the sky for three-point-three hours at a time and divides the day into six segments. This travels along the chasm around Nyx’s island ( east-west ).

The red moon ( also known as the blood moon ) revolves around the planet once every two days, meaning the red moon is in the sky for twenty hours, then gone for twenty hours. This travels perpendicular to the chasm ( north-south ).

The difference between summer and winter is far more dramatic than on earth. In the height of winter and summer, 25% of the planet is in permanent darkness. Because the blue moon orbits over the equator ( which is also the chasm ), during the middle months, lunar eclipses are common.

If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

The world is round and the planet is heliocentric.

Q: Character heights?

A: The heights of all named or otherwise notable characters are as follows:

Aura: 5’7” or 170 cm.

Melia: 5’9” or 175 cm.

Ront: 5’6” or 167 cm.

Alraune: 4’1” or 124.5 cm.

Estelle: 6’1” or 187 cm.

Marlene: 5’5” or 165 cm.

Q: What happened to [mechanic]?

A: Every mechanic, system, or ‘rpg-like’ element is just scaffolding for the plot. For example, the skills system could tell you that throwing a jab improves your martial arts acquisition or mastery by 0.3%. However, the exact numbers are a lot less important than the fact the skill system can point out certain skills are growing / give proof of skill growth.

Thanks so much for reading!
