The world was once vast and empty. With no trees, water, or even grass, the world was just a piece of land filled with dirt. Without a single footprint, the dirt stayed flat and caused the world to look lifeless. It stayed like this for many years until the species known as Ancestrals arrived. No one knows how they arrived or where they arrived from, but they were the first inhabitants, thus giving them the name, the First Beings. There were 5 in total, and it is said that each of these 5 were similar with minor differences.
The First Ancestral did not have a name, but the First Ancestral was the leader of the 5. The First Ancestral was said to be the Perfect Ancestral with the rest of the Ancestrals trying to follow. Each Ancestral had different traits that stemmed from the First Ancestral. In addition, the First Ancestral was also known to have foresight, the ability to look into the future.
The Ancestral known as Dwarfitch was the most careful among the others. Dwarfitch was the shortest with a heftier body, but Dwarfitch was the mastermind of crafting. It is said that Dwarfitch crafted plenty of weapons, mountains, and sculptures.
The Ancestral known as Elflin was the most graceful among the others. Elfin had pointy ears that looked as if they could cut someone by touching them. It is said that Elfin created the trees, grass, and supplied the beauty to the world.
The Ancestral known as Humanim was the most adaptable among the others. Humanim seemed to be the closest resemblance to the First Ancestral in terms of looks. It is said that Humanim acted as the second leader if the First Ancestral was not there. While Humanim assisted the other Ancestrals, it always seemed that ulterior motives were the reason.
The Ancestral known as Demonity was the kindest among the others. Demonity also had the closest resemblance to the First Ancestral in terms of looks, but Demonity always grew horns out when angry or frustrated. It is said that Demonity always helped the other Ancestrals with whatever tasks they needed assistance with.
With the First Beings overseeing the world, everything was prosperous. The land was green and vibrant with life, mountains and structures differentiated one area from another, and the diplomacy between the First Beings was good. Every morning, they would have a meeting to discuss how they wanted to enrich the land, but it also served as a way for the Ancestrals to grow stronger bonds with one another. It was a peaceful time that shaped the beginning. However, everything was fine until the Great Disaster occurred.
The Great Disaster was created from jealousy, deceit, and the greed for power. While Dwarfitch and Elfin continued on with their daily duties, Humanim and Demonity had a closer relationship with the First Ancestral. During a meeting one day, a discussion was held about who the next leader would be once the First Ancestral disappeared. The First Ancestral knew when and where their death would occur, but it was kept a secret. While Humanim and Demonity didn’t understand what the First Ancestral meant by disappear, they did understand that a new leader was going to rise. However, the First Ancestral never selected a leader.
Days continued to pass, but the First Ancestral never disappeared. There was frustration from one of the potential leaders, and that frustration was taken out on Dwarfitch and Elfin. The smooth mountains that Dwarfitch carefully constructed had holes and caves formed inside. The tree trunks of the trees that Elfin created now were rough and uneven. Fearing dissonance among the other Ancestrals, Elfin and Dwarfitch stayed silent as their marvelous creations had now taken new forms. Even though they stayed silent, the First Ancestral reported the findings to Humanim and Demonity. However, the First Ancestral said that it must always be kept a secret, because it will cause disaster.
Months continued to pass, but the First Ancestral still didn’t disappear. At this point, one of the potential leaders decided that a new leader needed to be elected now. The Ancestral decided to take actions into their own hands as they only seeked rule and power. While pretending to seek out the First Ancestral for a meeting, the Ancestral struck a weapon through the body of the First Ancestral.
“This was the only way for the greater good of the world,” were the final words spoken by the First Ancestral as a look of sadness appeared. As clear liquid seeped out of the First Ancestral, the prediction of disappearing had unfortunately come true. The First Ancestral faded away as if their presence was never in the world.
The next day came, and all of the Ancestrals gathered for their daily meeting with the First Ancestral but the meeting never occurred. All of the Ancestrals searched and searched, but a body was never found. Confusion and panic formed between the Ancestrals until a voice came out.
Stolen story; please report.
“I know who did it,” Humanim announced.
“Who did it?” asked all three Ancestrals at the same time.
“It was you!” Humanim said as he pointed at one of the Ancestrals.
The other two pairs of eyes darted towards the Ancestral that Humanim pointed to.
“Do you have any proof?” Demonity angrily asked.
“You told me that the First Ancestral wanted to meet you yesterday,” Humanim announced. “You wanted to be the next leader so bad, so you made the First Ancestral disappear!”
“That’s preposterous! I only said that the First Ancestral wanted to meet me, but I sure didn’t commit a crime,” Demonity declared. “Elfin and Dwarfitch, who do you believe?”
“Don’t call them for help!” Humanim yelled. “Not after what you did.”
“What do you mean, Humanim?” Elfin asked.
“We all know that Demonity gets frustrated easily and grows out a horn that gives an insurmountable amount of power,” Humanim yelled. “Well, Demonity had to let the frustration go somewhere, right? Like possibly damaging something important.”
“Are you talking about the trees and the mountain?” Demonity asked confusingly.
“I didn’t say anything about trees or mountains,” Humanim said almost solemnly.
“Wait,” Demonity responded quickly after feeling like a trap was set. “I seriously don’t know anything.”
“Forget it,” Dwarfitch said. “This was never told to anyone.”
“We have our answers,” Elfin said.
Dwarfitch and Elfin sided with Humanim, and it was now three Ancestrals against one Ancestral. After all of the kindness and assistance Demonity gave, all the Ancestrals easily brushed it off. It was terrifying, scary, but most of all, it was lonely.
“I’ll give you two choices,” Humanim declared. “Kill yourself at once, or exile yourself from us for all eternity.”
“Wai-”
It was no use as Elfin and Dwarfitch gazed away, seemingly showing their trust towards Humanim. Demonity held back tears at the deceit, lies, and betrayal from those that were considered family.
“I will exile myself,” Demonity answered calmly.
“Good, then you-”
“But not for all eternity!” Demonity declared.
“Huh?” Humanim asked.
“Through the trials and tribulations, we will all be together once again! There will be a time where we can talk again with one another, laugh with one another, and be happy with one another. I don’t care how long it takes, but that day will come. We might not be able to see it, but our descendants will. They’ll fight, kill, and have plenty of tears just like today, but it won’t be for eternity. Everyone will finally be happy, they for sure will. I guarantee it on my life,” Demonity said with two horns popping out.
“See,” Humanim yelled. “The horns have come out once again. Demonity is angry and will even use the power of the horn to go against us!”
“But,” Dwarfitch said while turning to look at Demonity. “Why is he crying?”
As tears rolled down Demonity’s face, the biggest smile formed. It wasn’t a smile of anger or defeat, it was a smile of what Demonity hoped the future would hold.
Elfin and Dwarfitch gazed away again, but the sounds of droplets hitting the ground signaled how they truly felt as well. Humanim stood there silent. After one last look, Demonity turned around and roamed the vast land, alone and faced with false accusations. However, Demonity didn’t care. All Demonity hoped was that those that were considered as family would all continue to be well.
“Wait, how come Demonity didn’t say that Humanim did it? It sounds like Humanim did it. Dwarfitch and Elfin are poopoo heads for not staying with Demonity. And why did the leader disappear? Is that why the land is separated into 4 now? How come we get the south area? I think the north area would be cooler. And why is there water everywhere now? Did a giant fish break the sea apart? I bet a sea monster jumped out and started breathing fire out of their mouths. Wait, can a monster from the sea even breathe fire? Nevermind, this story sounds dumb. Only a baby would believe it,” I said.
“Stop interrupting!” the storyteller said as she hit me over the head. “And you are a baby!”
“Ouch! You can’t hit me, Mya,” I rubbed my head in frustration.
“This is the story passed on from generations to generations,” Mya let out a deep sigh. “This is the truth about this world. Even if the other nations believe differently. Now let me finish the rest, because it’s just as important!”
“Truth, smooth, poop,” I stuck my tongue out and ran out the room. “It’s boring, and I don’t wanna listen anymore!”
“That is no way for a baby to act!” Mya tried chasing me.
“Don’t call me a baby!” I turned around and gave a smile. “I’m Kizou, Prince of the Demon Kingdom!”
