Talking

Throughout the years there have been plenty of expeditions through space for people to inhabit another planet but there was one that failed a few years back. The 01-Yulmier, an expedition that went from Terra all the way to Inectis in the Ormal solar system. After a few years of tracking the voyage, it had vanished about halfway through the expedition towards Inectis, so went to check it out ourselves. It took us a while to get there but we found the ship and landing on it. It looked fine on the outside so we just expected that its engines might've failed and there were still survivors on board.

We landed in the bay and entered the cortex of the ship... this was our first interaction with the race known as the Cùis Neònach. The Cùis Neònach is a parasitic alien race comprised of fungi and bacteria, randomly floating throughout space until it finally reaches a planet with life, or, in this case, a ship filled to the brim with life, infecting everyone within it so it can form its own independent consciousness. When the Cùis Neònach forms their own independent consciousness, they become an extremely peaceful race of aliens but it does not change the fact that they are extremely dangerous and are essentially space anomalies that can end an entire planet's ecosystem in a matter of hours - and they all mostly reside in one solar system. The solar system remains without an official name even today but we have given it a... file name. O-2 Yori Majorsi, that is the name of their solar system.

We have confirmed several other cases of the Cùis Neònach appearing in other solar systems but they are extremely rare cases, for now, the Cùis Neònach that we encounter today are the peaceful ending stages of their development.

Sorry... I've been delaying the most important part... what do they look like? What does it, look like?"

When we entered the ship we were greeted with massive fungal strands reaching the roof of the ship, the cortexes were stopped because of this fungal matter. Particles floating in the air, tapping against the screens of our visors as we pass - the size of a bee. Any human that was on board was turned into this massive gelatinous ball of flesh which the Cùis Neònach fed on until... we met it... The Cùis Neònach feed off of life until finally, they birth life. It... truly is a tragedy. Millions died on that ship and we aren't allowed to do anything about it or else we'll be violating the Cùis Neònach's rights.

We do cull more of their race from spreading onto other habitable planets that aren't in the solar system they reside in but... Jesus Christ.

"Was that your first time killing someone?" Ren asks, laying down on the Gambler's bed right beside him, both looking at the ceiling of the ship.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

The Gambler sighs, "You could say that."

Ren turns to her side to look the Gambler in the face, "Who are you really? You seemed naive, someone who'd jump into battle without a second thought... is that wrong?"

"Yes."

"You said that what you did to help me was on a whim, is that true?"

"Yes, it was true... it'd been a very long time since I was... me. So, I did something unlike me."

"What is like you?"

The Gambler stops to think about it, burying the back of his head farther into the pillow under him. The Gambler opens his mouth for a second, attempting to say words, none of them coming out.

"Do you think you could love me? Is your love an act? Are you acting whenever you are surprised by an offhand statement I make?"

"I... might already be in love with you... but that could be the loneliness talking. I know I like you a lot though."

"Is it because we had sex?"

The Gambler scrunches his nose - closed eyes cringing at the thought. "Definitely not."

"Will it matter though... we don't know each other very well so we can go around... though I won't personally."

"I'm not doing that, not a fan of polygamy."

"Would you have sex with another woman if she offered it then?"

The Gambler sighs, "No."

"Why wouldn't you?"

"Because of you. I won't do it if you don't want it. If you don't care, I won't either."

"What if I told you that I don't care?"

"I would think you're lying. I'm not a huge fan of lying."

"Then I won't lie. I would be bothered."

"Why do you like me?"

"You saved me?"

"Is that enough to like someone?"

Ren stops, staring down at the pillow by her side. "I find you entertaining to be around, I wouldn't like it if you were with another woman. Is that not enough?"

"Confusing..." The Gambler sits himself up. "We're going to be exploring a desert planet tomorrow, it's in the Mestaphles system. Barely anyone lives on it and I thought it'd be fun. I'd love to do something I've liked to do more than anything and I haven't done it since I went to your planet... though, we couldn't stay long."

"What's the planet called?"

"Ignis Tyoris."

Ren sits herself up as well, leaning against the Gambler's shoulder, cheek pressing against her teeth as she rubs herself onto his shoulder, Ren moves to his back, continuing to rub her face on the Gambler.

"You have a runny nose or something?"

"I like doing this."

A light blush goes across the Gambler's face, looking out the window of what was now their room, admiring the side of the black abyss as a sun peeks trough, lighting the window, causing the shadows to move slowly as the light slowly moves into the room.

"Do you want to do what I'm doing to my breasts?"

The Gambler coughs, surprised by her question. "Yeah, a lot of men would love to but what the fuck?"

A muffled laugh comes from his back as she continues to rub her face in her clothes.

"Do I smell good or something?"

"I like how Humans smell... no... you don't smell like normal humans."

"You sound happy about that."

The Gambler feels her nod, "I love it."

"I think today was the first time I've met the Humans of this... galaxy."

"What do you mean?"

The Gambler considers carefully what he'll say next, "I... trust you. I'm not from this galaxy. I don't know how I got to this galaxy either. That's all I'll say for now."

"There are Humans in other galaxies?"

"As I said, that's all I'll say for now."

Ren pushes the Gambler onto the bed, shoving her face into the Gambler's legs as a muffled, "Too many secrets," comes out.

"Yeah... guess I got a lot of them."
