When I opened my eyes, I saw darkness. Not total darkness, mind you, but the type of darkness one would see in a dimly lit town. Darkness that virtual reality couldn’t imitate. The feeling of the wind, the stars, the moon… the feelings these objects gave off were something VR wasn’t able to imitate.
‘O..H...holy shit. That man was telling the truth.’ I glanced down at my hands, noticing the small clearing of grass that was behind them. I clenched them tightly, feeling the muscles in my arm swell. I began to poke and prod my stomach, feeling my charact- No, my soft skin beneath my gloves. I could feel muscles, intestines, flesh… virtual reality isn’t able to do this.
“Haha….hahahaha….hahahahaha!!!! ITS REAL!! I’M FINALLY FREE!!!” Tears of happiness-something that wasn’t possible in EverSense- flowed freely down my face. No longer would I have to live in that shitty world living a stupidly shitty life.
“So you too hated earth, huh?” I looked up to the voice beside me. An extremely feminine man in a white cloth robe held the same look of exalted joy as me.
“Who wouldn’t hate it? It was shit there. But honestly, to think that man was telling the truth.” Even though I wasn’t the talkative type I couldn’t help but run my mouth a little. Nothing could ruin this perfect moment.
“WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU GUYS!!” Of course, I spoke too soon. The overly familiar metallic ring of swords being drawn from their sheaths echoed in my non-existent ears. I took a glance at my surroundings. I was in a large, crop cut clearing full of small white flowers that glittered rather beautifully under the moonlight. Glancing in front of me four large wolves taller than me glared at me with red eyes. Behind them, three men stood at the ready, all with swords drawn. The one to my right even had a small fireball spell in his hand.
“So there’s even magic in this world… fascinating.” Next to me I heard the feminine man mutter under his breath.
‘I wonder… do we still have our magic?’ Closing my eyes I reached inside myself for the familiar gaseous sensation of mana. For a moment, panic overtook me as I felt nothing. Then, I felt a small blue wisp floating near the center of my chest. I tried to move it but it felt anchored to the spot.
‘Hmm.. resisting me? Try again!!’ With a powerful tug I yanked the blue mist away from the center of my chest.
And like that, my magic power began gushing out.
I nearly screamed in euphoria as my all too familiar magic began to circulate throughout my body.
“So much mana!! This is way more than I had before.” With more than a little effort I forcibly compressed my leaking power into my body.
“Pheeew. That was nice.” I looked up at the feminine man. He had his eyes closed as well, and if I was to guess he was--
“God fuck!!” I shouted in pain as a pure white light radiated from his body, only to shut off a moment later.
“That felt amazing” He said aloud. I had to agree with him. Even now my magic roiled about in my body. I hadn’t opened that magic hole in my chest all the way yet and was curious as to see what would happened when I do.
“What are you guys…?” The four wolves in front of us had all disappeared, leaving the three men by themselves. Of them, only one was standing his ground, albeit barely. Before I had a chance to speak the feminine man next to me did.
“Gods” I raised my eye at this. Pretty bold of him, to declare us gods. Not going to lie though, I probably would have said something along the same lines.
“Pfft please. I’ve seen gods, and none of them look like that demon right their.” The man in the middle pointed his sword rather rudely at me. But it was true. Not to say anything of my race but my gear alone probably made me look like evil incarnate.
I had on a full set of level 300 gear, personally crafted to my own battle style. It was modeled to look after the fabled [Nightmare’s End] gear, though mine ended up looking much much darker.
(An: Really don’t know how to explain this without boring the hell out of the readers so here is a picture. Only difference in my characters clothing is the mouth on the hat is also around the cuffs of his robe as well as near his ankles, with the color of the robe being white instead of purple. Instettered cloth the robe comes down like traditional mage wear, with the additions above being added to. Also, the eye color is gold, as well as the glove on his hands are black)
My gear focused insanely on increasing my damage, magic recovery, and mana pool size. The ten gems woven on my gloves served to add unique effects to some of my magic skills. Coupled with my race’s unique characteristic I singlehandedly possessed the most powerful attacks in EverSense Online, though at a massive drawback.
“Oh dear… Haven’t you been told never to judge a book by its cover?” An unorthodox amount of killing intent surged out of the feminine man, nearly causing me to unconsciously activate my skills.

*Thump*Thump* I nearly laughed out loud as the two men who were on the ground passed out from fright. The strong odor of urine filled the air only a moment later. The man in the middle somehow managed to stay conscious from the bloodlust, although he did drop to his knees in pain.
“Hou? You’re still awake? Impressive. I’m going to amp it up then.” Having said that the feminine man began to steadily increase his bloodlust, aiming it like a sharp knife at the middle man.
“P-p-ple-a-se!! S-t-t-top!!” The pressured atmosphere in the air disappeared almost instantly. I turned around in shock as a young girl hugged her shaking body with intense fear.
‘How did I not notice her..?’ I wondered. I wrote it off as “Since she had no killing intent I didn’t feel the need to notice her”, but deep down I wasn’t so sure if that was the case.
“Your arm is broken” Feminine boy says, reaching down to touch the child. She let loose a slight gasp of pain at the prodding hands of feminine boy but said nothing of it.
“....” I strain my ears to catch the mumbled words of feminine boy but am unable to catch a thing. A moment later though a small gentle light began to emanate from his hands, causing a small moan to release from the young girls lips.
“Healing magic… a level 300 healer, huh? Never seen one of those before” I spoke with slight awe in my voice. Unlike other classes healers only gained experience from healing other people, and a small bit from healing themselves. Because of this healers were in high demand everywhere in EverSense Online, though because of how difficult it was to level them there were rarely any around.
“I wonder why?” Feminine boy says with a laugh, patting the young girl on the head before standing up.
“So little girl. Why are you out here.” He asks. Out of nowhere the girl begins to burst into tears, her small frame shaking with the strength of them.
“That man… he… he’s my master but… he’s a sick man. He rapes me so much. I just couldn’t take it anymore.” If I had them my eyes would have jumped off my face. There is slavery in this world? Once again that unfathomably deep bloodlust begins to surge out of feminine boy before being cut like a kite on a string.
“I see.” He says. “Mind taking me towards this man.” An intense flash of fear light up in the girl’s eyes. However, it faded with feminine boy’s next words.
“Rest assured. I have no intentions of giving you back to that man. Rather, I would like to give him a warm welcome.” It might be going on a limb here but I felt as if our two definitions of “Warm welcome” were pretty far from each other. Still, the girl was hesitant. I couldn’t blame her though. Two strangely dressed people appear out of the sky and proclaim themselves gods? Even I would find a situation like that sketchy.
“H-.. how do I know you’re not going to turn me in?”
“Well, I did just attack those men coming after you. It should be rather obvious that we are on your side.” Can’t deny that logic. An awkward silence engulfed the area as the girl made up her mind. Honestly, I didn’t care either way. I was beyond eager to explore this brand new world and with the power I had I had no fear of anything on this planet.
“I...I’m trusting you. Please, don’t betray me.” A quiver entered the child’s voice as she spoke, but her eyes portrayed her determination.
“I,SushiHealz, swear by the String of Fate that I will not hand… this child over to her master.” My eyes widened at that. Although I didn’t think he would do it, breaking a promise after swearing by the String of Fate branded you as a [Monster] for one month in game time. Players would get experience from killing you as a [Monster] based on your level. However, only players over level 250 could swear by the String of Fate, so as to not abuse the system and power level. Given that players lose exactly half of their experience when they die and that your experience will go into the negative swearing by the String of Fate rarely, if ever, was used in a promise.
“But honestly… SushiHealz?” I couldn’t help but laugh at that.
“Says you, moon elf wannabe.” Sushi shot back, punching my pride in a weak point.
“Fine. Let’s both agree we need new names for this world.” I said, slightly grumpy. Malketh was a good name, right? I quickly thought about what I wanted to be called. I forcibly shoved away my inner Chuunibyou and began to think.
“You proclaimed us as god's, right? Then we need fitting aliases.”
“You’re right. Then… I will be Zagan, as named in the Lesser Book of Solomon. You can be… Ipos.” I wanted to say that name was lame, but for some reason it sounded… right to me, like a well used controller.
“Fine.” I muttered, my pride slightly wounded.
“Well then, little lady. Shall we go now?”
