Chapter 128 The Throne Meeting
Evernya sprang to her feet blood thirsty smile spread across her face as the very air rippled in her presence.
Appearing in no rush to leave, Avonya commented, “calm down my little princess. They will get what’s coming to them in due time. If anything, your parting gift already accomplished much in the way of revenge.”
“Parting gift?”
“You will see when we descend upon them. Your ascension caused quite amount of damage though those who matter weathered the turbulent last couple years.”
“All the more reason to strike them now.”
Avonya’s gaze turned far away for a moment before she revealed, “Actually, the perfect time to strike would be in approximately ten minutes.”
Evernya tilted her head with a confused expression. “What’s happening in ten minutes?”
With a blood thirsty smile Avonya replied, “Certain pieces will fall into place ripe for the picking.”
Without knowing how to get back, Evernya dropped back to her seat once again before asking yet another question. “Is it normal to have two aspects?”
“While possible, no. Some of the older ascended beings managed a minor aspect similar to their main aspect after several millennia, but otherwise no. Usually a single aspect is encompassing enough.”
Her mother’s answer caused her to frown, earning a gasp from her mother. “Did my little princess earn herself two aspects?”
“I’m not really sure, to be honest. One is obvious, which is mana, but the other one is a bit more subtle.”
Avonya’s eyes widened as she questioned, “Wait, your aspect isn’t force?”
“No, at least I don’t think so. One of my aspects is simply mana. I don’t know how deep it goes nor what it does, but when I checked my mind, a mana aspect was front and center.”
Avonya turned thoughtful, “Mana? Usually, an aspect is more specific than that. An aspect of mana could mean anything. What is the other aspect?”
“I don’t know for sure. While the mana aspect was obvious, the other aspect is a bit shrouded. At first I thought it was force, but that doesn’t feel right.”
“Maybe it has something to do with your special ability? You were quite hard to keep corralled as a child when you could practically ignore physics to escape though part of that was your vailed nature.”
"Veiled nature? You mean my hard to sense mana and scent?" questioned Evernya after taking a discrete sniff of herself to find no scent as usual.
Avonya nodded in response. "At first we thought you were unique but in the years following your birth we heard of several similar people all of mana being races. We named this phenomenon Vailed Nature."
Out of nowhere Evernya gasped as a sharp pain speared through her mind, bringing a flood of information. Her ears flattened against her skull as she cradled her head while mewing.
Avonya moved to comfort her daughter, but as quickly as it came, it passed.
Evernya returned her attention to her mother with a bright smile. “Ever heard of an aspect called physics?”
After several seconds of silence, Avonya spoke. “Physics and mana? Quite a vague combo, though I can see the parallels. I think if you ascended naturally, you would have had the physics aspect or something similar, but your forced ascension, while flooded with two potent sources of mana, created a second aspect.”
“Once I have all this behind me, I’ll have to do some experimenting.” Evernya commented, now more driven than ever to descend on Sespina.
Avonya’s gaze turned distant once again before she spoke. “Give it a few more minutes and we can join the party.”
“You’re coming with?”
“Of course. I have some unfinished business with that disgusting country.”
“I thought old ones couldn’t stay in Sespina for a long?”
“That used to be the case, but after your rather destructive ascension, there isn’t a time limit any longer. Though I don’t think that area will ever be enjoyable for beings of our caliber.”
Evernya fell silent with a blood thirsty smile, daydreaming the destruction she and her mother will reap.
Unable to resist any longer, Avonya sprang to her feet, drawing Evernya’s attention who was going through the newly downloaded information.
Avonya gave an exaggerated scan of her daughter before commenting, “I don’t think your current lack of attire will strike the right image. On second thought, it would be quite the show for a naked woman to appear in front of them, though knowing them, they probably paid several strippers to perform a similar skit.”
Evernya glanced down at her body just now, realizing she was naked. Unbothered by her lack of dress, Evernya shrugged her shoulders before sending a mental command to shift into her natural armor.

In an instant, pale white skin shifted to beautiful deep blue scaled armor. After standing up, a random thought caused her to summon Nekomata.
Her Manite weapon didn’t come alone as a human sized form solidified to her right. When the form took shape, Evernya nearly dropped Nekomata as she gasped. “Kya!? How?”
Kya stood still naked before the two women while blinking her eyes in disorientation.
“Fascinating to think my daughter could bring true life to an AI.”
Still out of it, Kya remained still as Evernya drilled her gaze into Avonya. “True life? Kya is alive?”
“Oh yes, look for yourself. Your mana created a body for her, though when I say alive she isn’t alive in the traditional sense, as she’s a mana construct, but the soul is real.”
Evernya’s gaze shot to Kya. Unknown to Evernya as she drilled deeper, her eyes shifted from their typical slitted pupil to a flowerlike pattern with a scaly texture. Her vision lit up with mana, causing her to recoil until her vision adjusted like walking out into a bright, sunny day.
Evernya focused her vision on Kya’s body, showing a labyrinth of mana veins crisscrossing across every part of Kya’s body. Unlike a normal body, no organs existed within only the network of mana veins imitating life.
Kya’s voice broke her concentration, causing her eyes to shift back to normal. “My lady!”
Tears formed in Kya’s violet eyes as she clamped Evernya in a hug, causing a happy smile from Avonya, who silently stood by.
After several seconds, Kya stiffened before disengaging. Her cheeks reddened as she realized her lack of clothes.
With a mental command, Kya’s skin shifted to scales mirroring Evernya’s though purple and slightly less polished.
“Are you to love birds ready? We have some weeds to pull.”
Evernya and Kya turned in unison to glare at Avonya, earning a smirk. “Already in sync too.”
To take her attention off her annoying mother, Evernya pressed Nekomata to the insides of each forearms causing a momentary stab of pain as they embedded themselves.
She shifted her wings into existence before nodding at Avonya with a serious expression.
Unlike Evernya, who looked ready for battle, Avonya wore a simple black and green sundress as if she was going on a stroll through the garden.
Space warped around them as Avonya released a pulse of mana. Unlike the first time, Evernya allowed the mana through her domain. A moment later, all three women vanished from the living room.
They appeared in a gaudy polished marble reception hall in front of massive wooden doors decorated in gold. Avonya turned to the other two girls before whispering just loud enough for their sensitive ears to hear. “I’m going to teleport us inside, but please stay quiet until I give the signal. Especially you, my little princess. I know you will want to crush them, but take this as a lesson on how these people operate. People at their level don’t just frame and kill willy-nilly.”
After receiving a nod from both girls, though Evernya was a bit reluctant, Avonya teleported them inside.
Just as gaudy as the reception hall, if not more so, every nook and cranny of the room was polished to a gleam with sparkling gems inlaid in everything, including the floor. Evernya’s dragon side fought her control, wanting to claim every gem as hers, but now with a much stronger will, she kept control at least until her eyes landed on the inhabitants of the room.
As if Avonya orchestrated everything, everyone involved in her recent torment was present. Space rippled around the girls as Avonya pulled them into a corner away from prying eyes, hugging Evernya to stop her from pouncing.
Evernya’s eyes, glowing brighter by the second, glared daggers at the occupants, muscles tense in under her scaly armor. The most prominent person in the room seated on a throne like some egotistical King gave her flashbacks to her previous life despite all the years that passed. Her control over her emotions frayed as she spotted another man standing to the right of the throne with his trademark smirk and an impeccable suit. The only other occupants were a father and son pair who appeared much skinnier than they were when they forced her to the ruins and started the chain of events leading to here. Unlike the presumed King and Arthur the Fleming patriarch and his son Archibald were kneeling next to the throne. Despite their malnourished appearance and position, they still wore impeccable suits, though the suits appeared slightly loose on their gaunt frames.
The entire room was silent, as if they were waiting for another arrival to start.
As the minutes passed, Evernya began to struggle against her mother’s hold, but only physically, as her curiosity tempered her anger.
Avonya tightened her hold on her daughter as she spoke telepathically into her mind. “Calm down, my little princess. You will get your revenge soon. We still have another guest arriving.”
“Who? I could just kill everyone here and be done with it.” Growled Evernya in her mind.
After giving the man on the throne a glare full of hatred, Avonya responded, “These insects are only a part of the equation. I’m sorry, my little princess, but there is more going on than you know. Some of it was my fault from long ago. Just wait a few more minutes and all will be revealed. There is one more victim and perpetrator in all of this yet to arrive.”
Evernya’s mind instantly conjured up a certain fluffy fox, but with uncertainty warring, she failed to place the Kitsune in either category.
Right on cue, the massive door opened. With an explosion of multicolored flames, a woman wearing an exquisite kimono strutted into the room with all her nine tails raised.
Evernya’s gaze swept over the woman, instead landing on another Kitsune following behind her, trying to look as diminutive as she could. Her tails, unlike the other Kitsune, were dragging on the floor as she clenched her hands at her stomach while staring down at the floor.
As soon as Evernya’s eyes landed on the second Kitsune, her struggles increased, fueled by an unrelenting desire to protect the girl despite their last encounter. A moment later, her mind regained control as a cold feeling came over her as she replayed the events of her mate’s betrayal. Her warring emotions stalled into a stalemate as she watched the new arrivals approach the throne.
Despite the flames, the room remained silent until they Kitsune reached the throne. The head Kitsune’s previously blank expression formed a sneer for a moment before returning emotionless as she stared up at the pompous human.
The Kitsune and Sespinian King remained in a silent stare off for several minutes before the king broke eye contact and spoke. “Nice of you to finally visit Matriarch Ito.”
“Yes, me and my granddaughter had many prior engagements to attend to.”
Anger flared on the King’s face for a moment, but he squashed it in favor of a smile. “I understand. I had to attend to several important matters myself.”
A sneer flashed as the matriarch commented, “yes I heard all about your recent troubles. It was only a matter of time until your little pocket of corrupted mana collapsed. It would be a shame if someone were to take advantage of your kingdom’s weakness.”
“No need to worry. We will be fine, especially after we took care of that bitch’s spawn. I doubt many would make a move on us now that the news spread we are capable of killing the daughter of one of the most powerful old ones.”
Aya clenched her kimono with an iron grip as tears brimmed in her eyes, but she remained silent as her grandmother continued with another jab. “Oh yes, I was quite pleased when I heard of my granddaughter’s success. To think one of my blood would have a filthy Draecath as her mate, especially one of that bitch’s line.”
Unable to take it any longer, Evernya’s mana exploded outward, revealing their presence.
