-The Creation of Duality-

Seraphina and The Director found themselves on the outskirts of the city, standing in the middle of a field bordered by a dense forest. Seraphina's initial excitement quickly faded as she focused on The Director, her expression turning serious.

"Now, I want to do this as easily as possible," she began, her voice steady. "If we manage to succeed, we will have discovered a new type of magic that can be possessed by people with two traits."

As she spoke, a yellow aura began to emanate from her, and a crossbow materialized in her hand, seemingly forged from pure light. "Since we use the same magic," she continued, "we need to use it as a foundation."

The Director hesitated, then drew her revolver. A yellow mist began to envelop the barrel, mirroring Seraphina's aura as she waited for further instructions.

"Now," Seraphina said, her tone filled with determination, "we need to try using a different type of magic while maintaining this one as our starting point."

The field around them buzzed with anticipation, the air thick with the promise of discovery. The Director nodded, her grip tightening on the revolver.

The Director hesitated, staring down at her revolver with uncertainty. "Exactly how do you expect me to use two different traits at the same time? That would take an immense amount of practice," she questioned.

Seraphina glanced at her crossbow, determination and fear etched on her face. She decided to try first, her other hand beginning to glow a faint blue. The light brightened momentarily before fading as her hand trembled. "If I can manage to use more than one type of magic simultaneously, the possibilities could be endless. We could go from two traits to three, and then beyond."

The Director remained still, her thoughts racing before she voiced her concern. "And what if my emotions spiral out of control?"

Seraphina met her gaze, her voice firm. "I won’t let that happen, ever."

With a deep sigh, The Director attempted to follow Seraphina's lead. Unlike before, her gun began to glow not just with the yellow of the Justice trait but also with a gray hue of Neutrality. The two colors intertwined, swirling around the barrel of the revolver as she held it out to the side.

Seraphina’s expression turned to one of astonishment. "That’s incredible. How did you manage to control both of those traits?"

The Director looked at the gun, contemplating how to articulate her experience.

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

“Well, I believe my Neutrality doesn’t feel like I am adding anything to the magic I’m currently using,” The Director said, her tone contemplative.

Seraphina frowned slightly, puzzled. “Here, let me see the difference firsthand, even if it’s a dumb idea.” Her crossbow destabilized and vanished from her hand, the yellow glow dissipating. “Hit me with your magic, just be gentle, alright?”

The Director’s eyes widened in shock. “Why in the world would I shoot you?”

Seraphina boldly replied, “If we want to see what these combined traits can do, the only real way is to test it out.”

Though hesitant, The Director decided to fire her revolver away from Seraphina, aiming to ensure the shot wouldn’t hit her directly. As she pulled the trigger, the gun flashed yellow and gray, the mist around the barrel dissipating as the projectile curved back, slamming into Seraphina's side. She fell to one knee, clutching the wound, then started laughing.

“Hah, that hurt a lot more than I thought it would. Vörher would get onto me for that, so don’t tell him we did this.” Seraphina stood up, shaking off the pain. “Now, since I’d rather not be a test dummy for all of your abilities, let’s try one more.”

The Director, slightly eager and happy about the success, watched as her gun began to glow with a red mist at the end of the barrel, showing her eagerness and determination. Gradually, the red color started to mix with a gray hue, both emanating from the barrel.

The Director fired the gun, the red energy streaking towards Seraphina and hitting her squarely in the chest, knocking the wind out of her and sending her to the ground. Gasping for breath, Seraphina clutched her chest, realizing that both attacks—one imbued with Justice and the other with Determination—felt identical in their impact.

Lying on her back, she pondered this revelation. Then, out of the corner of her eye, she caught a fleeting glimpse of something—a glowing pink glint in the distance. Before she could fully react, she mustered all her strength and leapt into the air just as a glowing pink spear slammed into the ground where she had been lying.

Both The Director and Seraphina turned to face the new threat. Standing there was another girl, no smaller than The Director, exuding an air of confidence that bordered on arrogance. Her gaze was intense, filled with a sense of superiority that seemed justified.

Seraphina's eyes narrowed as she sized up the newcomer. "Who are you?" she demanded, readying herself for whatever might come next.

The girl smirked, her posture relaxed but her presence formidable. "I am Aurora," she declared. "And you two are about to learn that underestimating me is a grave mistake."

The tension in the air was palpable, the possibility of a fierce confrontation looming as all three prepared for what might come next.

The girl, dressed in pink with medium-length dark brown hair, began to speak with a hint of playful remorse. “I’m so terribly sorry; it appears my aim was a bit more off than I thought. It’s quite difficult getting used to this magic stuff, y’know?”

Her pink spear, though primarily glowing with a soft, warm pink light, had a faint hint of black. She smiled, her expression radiating a seemingly genuine warmth. However, beneath that soft glow lay a devil in disguise, her true nature hidden behind the friendly facade.
