Prologue
Eternian Year 733, Kadwein.
-
A middle-aged man with smooth black hair, a black suit, and a lit cigar between his fingers stands above the grassy hills of a medieval country. His two sons stood by him.
"My sons, everything you see in front of you is rightfully yours."
Before describing the technological marvels he had introduced to his realm, the man smoked. His enormous white castle and nearby structures were built with cement and steel, which was unheard of at the time.
"I built aqueducts for them and used my knowledge from another world to improve my people's standard of living. When I die, I want you two to carry on my legacy as Kadwein's rulers," The King of Kadwein said.
"Our citizens no longer have to toil using magic just to get water, or ask a high-ranking mage if they lack ability." He added.
The young black-haired boy protests his father by aiming his small knife at the ocean. "But, Father, I want to be an explorer and fight monsters! I don't want to spend the entire day in a throne room."
The small child with blonde hair followed in the footsteps of his older sibling. "Dad, I also want to slay monsters and be a hero like the Hero of Camelot."
The middle-aged man laughed heartily, "Hohoho. If so, I would need to ask Skyla then,"
The black-haired boy objected, "But Dad! She's only five and can't even tell what's left or right."
The man gently takes his two sons with one arm each and walks to the castle saying, "In time son, in time. For now, let's head back to the castle, or else your mothers will be angry if we're late for supper."
A several centuries later, the powerful kingdom is reduced to little more than ruins.

Eternian Year 2024
20:00H
Somewhere in the City of Frendon, Kingdom of Kadwein.
-----------------------------------------
A RQ-4 Global Hawk military UAV soars above Frendon City's starless night sky. Its high-definition cameras are trained on the streets below.
"Hunter-1, this is Eagle-6, I am 2 clicks north of your position, we got three bogeys near your position requesting permission to engage with AGM-114 Hellfire missile over."
A hooded, black-haired man sits atop a high-rise building, his dark cloak fluttering in the breeze, clutching a rusted little dagger. It just reminded him of the fires that once consumed his kingdom from back then. Screams of horrified men, women, and children dying at the hands of the Elves can be heard all around him.
With a gloomy expression hidden beneath a black face mask, he throws the rusted dagger over the brink. He looks down at the high-intensity police chase on the densely populated streets below after a brief moment of silence.
His hazel brown eyes glow crimson as he utilizes his Magic eye to zoom in on the scene without binoculars or night vision.
Three SUVs are rushing along the thickly packed metropolitan freeway, pursued by police cruisers.
A Wood Elf terrorist peers through the passenger window, aiming his M16 assault rifle at the lightly armored police cruisers.
*Tatatatatat!*
After being pelleted by 5.56 AP bullets, the lead police cruiser catches fire and combusts after careening off the side of the road.
All of the passengers were dead.
A backup police cruiser appears from the side, and a Human officer bravely fires a 9mm pistol from the driver's seat. As he realized he was outgunned by the terrorist, his brow wrinkled.
The 9mm shots hit the back of the SUV, but the officer's only option without an assault rifle is to stay close behind the SUV.
"I repeat, requesting permission to engage with AGM-114 Hellfire missile over." The Global Hawk operator repeats his statement after receiving no response from the man in the high-rise building.
The man on top of the skyscraper taps his earpiece and radios the military drone overhead. "Negative Eagle-6, there are too many non-combatants in the area, over."
"Solid copy Hunter-1, I'll loiter half a click near your grid and provide surveillance support. Good hunting,"
The man removes his earpiece and puts on his fingerless black leather gloves in full concentration.
"Shots fired! Shots fired!"
*Tatatatat*
"AGHHH!" Hearing the gravity of the situation over the police radio, the man decides to step in.
The man kicks the concrete floor beneath him, sending him flying above the city. He can create rifts in space with his Shadow Step skill, instantly teleporting him a short distance away.
This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.
He teleports from high-rise to high-rise, catching up to the SUV without breaking a sweat.
His blonde-haired brother contacted him from his SWAT armored van. He is accompanied by ten SWAT Orcs who are armed with M249 LMG's that have been modified as an assault rifle.
"Rhen, I mean Nightblade, you have to stop them before they get to the hospital; I'm on my way to your location; ETA in three mikes, Lightbringer out," he adds.
"Affirmative, Lightbringer, but you'll miss the party if you don't hurry," Rhen said sarcastically, not wanting his kills stolen by his own brother.
Rhen kicks the floor even harder and moves faster than the speed of sound, quickly catching up to the criminals.
As a Dual Fire/Dark Elemental Attribute user, he summons Thanatos, the God of Death, his Soul Weapon.
A jet-black Katana with a fiery red dragon emblem appears in his one hand, with its sheath on his hip.
The Katana is made of highly compressed Red and Black plasma that burns hotter than the surface of the sun and can slice through anything and even dimensions, leaving little room for defense.
Rhen creates a foothold built of a magic barrier and poises his body like a dart, aiming on top of the lead SUV from high in the air.
He then distributes his mana throughout his entire body, much like high-octane fuel; the mana dissipates instantly, and he leaps like a bullet.
*Slam!*
Rhen drives the blade into the engine block, grinding the lead SUV's gears to a halt.
The SUV comes to a complete stop and begins to tip over. As sparks fly from the engine block, it begins to catch fire.
His slam breaks the glass and shatters the windshield.
He sees the terrified faces of Wood Elves screaming in horror behind a backdrop of brightly colored neon city lights, as though time has slowed down due to his intense focus.
Rhen draws his Magic.50 Handgun from its holster and fires a.50 caliber bullet into each of their heads.
*Bang!* 2x
Due of his strength, he barely feels the recoil of the.50 cal bullet.
He jumps out of the SUV before it falls over and catches fire.
Bystanders start filming the action with their cellphones, completely disregarding their own safety.
"OMG NIGHBLADE IN YOU BIGGEST FAN!! OHHHH MY GOD HE LOOKED AT ME KYAAAA!!" A female Orc student squeals on the sidewalk as she cheers for her idol.
Her classmates are of various races, including Wood Elves, Dwarves, and Halflings does the same.
Rhen ignores them since two more SUVs are on the loose. He aims to finish it quickly out of concern for the onlookers' lives.
The Wood Elf terrorists take aim at him. "꒓ꐇꑛ ꌚꐇ ꌚꂑꍟ ꏸ꒓ꂑꁒꌚꆂꁹ ꃃ꒒ꆂꆂꁕ .(GLORRY TO THE CRIMSON BLOOD!)."
Before they can shoot, Rhen slashes the air with his sword, unleashing a ten-foot-tall black wave at them. He refers to the strike as Void Slash, a skill he invented that isn't mentioned in any spell or skill books.
This ranged strike is made entirely of plasma and splits the SUV in half, leaving a red-hot molten mess in its wake.
The two halves clashed with a streetlamp near the students as they went by his side.
"Kyaaaaa!" cried the terrified youngsters, who could feel the heat emanating from the blazing wreck.
The Wood Elves emerged injured but alive; they were clad in a suicide vest and are not afraid to use it to slaughter the students.
Rhen moved faster and used Chain Slash on each of them in an instant before they could push the button. This skill is a combination of his normal slashes and the Shadow Step ability.
"Uwaaah!" The terrorist falls to the ground, their bodies split in half.
Rhen killed his enemies instantly, his slashes caused a dark rift in space for a split second due to Thanatos ripping time and space apart, making him look both flashy and deadly.
As a result of his attention being distracted, he was unable to stop the last out-of-control SUV, which was speeding straight into the bustling hospital.
A Human nurse and her elderly Orc patient in a wheelchair are about to collide with the SUV. She panics and attempts to push the wheelchair quickly, but it gets caught on the door.
"AAAHH!!" she cried, closed her eyes and bracing herself for her impending death.
"Haaaa!" Fortunately, Rhen's brother, Azrel, arrived just in time.
He uses his Warp ability to teleport straight on top of the SUV. He too has a soul weapon, Caliburn, a gorgeous white and gold Longsword made of light.
Then, from the top of the SUV, he releases a Grand Slam ability to crush his foes, emitting a shockwave of light energy.
The powerful magic flattens the SUV and cracks the road beneath it. The lucky driver who went through the windshield was spared while all of the occupants are killed instantly after being crushed by Azrel's onslaught.
The SWAT Orcs all emerged from the armored truck. They didn't make it to the party, thus they didn't get to use their M249s.
As soon as they arrived, they erected a police tape. This will deter fans from attempting to get Nightblade and Lighbringer's autographs signed on their comic books.
Rhen teleports close to his brother and clasps his palms together in apology.
"Sorry, I kind of killed everyone," he sheepishly continued.
Rhen's expertise is assassination and general battle, therefore catching people is not one of his strong suits.
To see if the unconscious driver is still alive, Azrel kicks him in the stomach.
The driver coughed and groaned.
"Well, at least this guy is alive," Azrel jokingly said, making light of the situation.
Azrel, as opposed to Rhen, is the city's hero. In contrast to his brother, he does not wear a black face mask to conceal his identity and instead wears an authentic Kadwein National Police Department uniform. A robe in white and blue.
A few moments later, Rhen hears the sirens of a black and blue police SUV in the distance, he notes the front plate number is peculiar, written in all caps with the letters forming "CHIEF."
Startled, Rhen cursed. "Oh, crap! Gotta run bro, talk to me when you survive." He dashed into the night sky, leaving Azrel behind.
He can deal with any foe, but the Chief is on a different level.
Azrel's job is straightforward: do not kill as many people as possible, and avoid working with Nightblade because this is not a black ops mission.
"HEY! Wait for me, goddammit, don't just leave me with him!!" Azrel said as he extended his palm to the starry sky in the direction of his brother.
Azrel sucks it up and prepares to meet the chief after his brother abandons him.
He and the Orcs immediately form a saluting line in front of the black SUV.
The back door of the SUV opens, revealing a big military boot. Then a gigantic hand appears, holding the opened door open from the top.
The High Elven chief emerges.
He stands 6 feet 7 inches tall and is dressed in a police general's outfit. He wears a military buzz cut and chews bubble gum.
In contrast to a typical High Elf with slim limbs and long, lovely, bright hair. His character is completely opposite to the other.
His imposing muscles puts the Orc's body to shame. His elegance and serene beauty that is expected for a High Elf are non-existent.
He only has testosterone and swagger.
Before addressing Azrel, he spits his bubble gum in front of his boot.
"My office is now, Boy." His voice is deep and gruff. If they call him on the phone, without knowing him, they'd believe he's some kind of monster.
Azrel's disproportionately smiling mouth could only utter a single word.
"Fuck!"
