Chapter 31

Chapter 31

Suddenly, the assault that materialized out of nowhere completely took Rabul by surprise. His head was smashed so violently that his brain went numb, and it took him a moment to react. As his head is still held in the groud, eyes filled with anger and fear, he demanded, "What the devil be ye doin', Sir Laut? The Einhorn Ship Guild ne'er provoked the Pedroral family! Don't ye remember, the port be our territory. I suggest ye wise up, mate."

Rabul threatened with all his might, his business like language from before no longer be seen, but before he could finish speaking, Lynn countered by smashing his head back again.

"I ask, you answer, got it? Cooperation is a good thing for you" Lynn squatted down, pull Rabul's head by the hair and stared intently at his eyes, speaking gravely to him.

As Lynn busied himself in tying up Rabul with the rope he bought from the market, the man was already sweating with pain, his nose bleeding profusely, but he clenched his teeth and made no sound, staring at Lynn as if he wanted to swallow him alive. In his mind, he couldn't think of any reason why the son of Baron Pedroral would attack him.

Could it be that one of the [Einhorn Ship Guild] members had inadvertently offended the other party?

Just as he was thinking, Lynn's deep voice came through.

"First question... name!"

Rabul glared at him, feeling affronted. Wasn't this obvious?

"Answer!" Lynn's voice was frigid, and after waiting for two seconds, he suddenly drew the dagger from Rabul's waist and swiftly and decisively plunge it into Rabul's right hand.

"Ra... Rabul!!"

The tall hulk screamed with all his might. He didn't want to lose his precious right hand for such a banal question.

Lynn's movements didn't stop. In the face of Rabul's frightened gaze, the dagger plunged into his palm from top to bottom.

"AHH-!"

Rabul's back was drenched as he screamed, the pain he had expected didn't come. When he looked down, he saw that the dagger was inserted directly into the gap between his fingers. Even so, he felt relief washing over his entire body.

"You have one second to answer each question. There is no next time!" Lynn said coldly, and then asked the next question.

"Gender!"

"Male!" Rabul gritted his teeth and replied, treating the man in front of him as a lunatic.

"What was your dinner last night!"

Rabul, confused and caught-off guard, forgot to answer. The one second limit immediately passed by and Lynn, without any hesitation, he grabbed hold of Rabul's finger and twisted it sharply, causing it to snap and break with a sickening crunch. Rabul let out a guttural cry of agony, his whole body trembling with pain.

"ARRGHH! YOU BASTARD!!"

"I told you so, didn't i? I ask and you answer within one second" Lynn spoke coldly.

Rabul didn't retort back, as his eyes, filled with hate and fear, glared at Lynn.

"Hmph, now let's get back to the questioning, shall we?" Lynn's voice sounded low and menacing.

Lynn continued to ask Rabul various questions, starting with ones that could be answered without thinking, and then becoming more and more intricate, from various small things he did every day to the trade goods and routes of the [Einhorn Ship Guild]. The room was silent except for the sound of Rabul's sobs and the sharp cracking of bones as Lynn broke each finger, one by one. The scene was brutal and savage.

In just a few minutes, Rabul's fingers had been broken six times, and he was in so much pain that he was feeling a little dizzy.

Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

"Hmmm...Okay, since you can't recall which foot you stepped out of the door with three days ago, I'll ask you a simpler question." Lynn mused, and then asked, "Where is Old Lard?"

"He's... " Rabul unconsciously began to speak, but then stopped and shook his head in fear. "Sir Laut, I really don't know where Old Lard be, curse him."

"I told you, if you cooperate a little, it's a good thing for you" Lynn sighed helplessly. In fact, he wasn't good at interrogations, and the little information he had in his head was all he had stayed up all night to learn with 071.

But Rabul clearly didn't intend to cooperate, and he had to use more radical methods.

Lynn's gaze narrowed. The Einhorn Ship Guild was originally formed by a group of pirates who had "reformed" after turning to a life of crime. According to Rabul, in addition to running ships and transporting goods, they also organized various illegal activities in private.

Such as disguising as pirates to plunder ships, trafficking people, transporting contraband, murder, rape, fighting, etc... If it were in his past life, the things Rabul had done would have earned him a hundred deaths and not enough to quell public anger!

"Do you know about the skinning method of animals?" Lynn asked slowly and deliberately.

Skinning?

Rabul shuddered, and then heard Lynn continue.

"To skin an animal, the first step is to make an incision through the skin around the base of the animal's neck. This cut should be made with a sharp knife and should be deep enough to slice through the skin and underlying fat, but not so deep that it damages the muscle tissue...."

Lynn nonstop explained to Rabul the ancient torture of a certain country, describing it vividly and in great detail.

"Next, the skinner should carefully peel the skin back from the animal's neck, using their fingers or a tool like a pair of pliers to grip and pull the skin away from the body. As the skin is peeled back, the skinner should use their knife to cut through any remaining connective tissue or fat, taking care to avoid damaging the skin."

"Once the skin has been peeled back from the neck, the skinner should continue to cut and peel the skin down the length of the animal's body, following the contours of the muscles and bones. As they work, they should take care to avoid nicking or puncturing the skin, as this can weaken its structural integrity and make it more difficult to work with."

"During the skinning process, it is normal for blood to flow from the animal's body. This blood should be wiped away with a clean cloth as it appears, taking care not to allow it to pool and soak into the skin."

"The entire skinning process should be completed as efficiently and quickly as possible, ideally within a few minutes or else..." Lynn looked at Rabul's pale countenance, and spoke casually "Else, you bleed to death before its finished."

Rabul, who was already lying paralyzed on the ground, had no doubt that the madman in front of him would skin him alive. Trembling, he said, "Sir Laut, I really don't know where Old Lard is!"

"Is that so? But I heard that you are Lard's most trusted subordinate!" Lynn said with a sneer.

"No.. no. That be what the public sees, but in truth, Old Lard ne'er trusts anyone, the scurvy dog." Rabul said cursed and fearfully in explanation. "I only know that he left the harbor town three days ago..."

"If you don't want to say, that's fine. We have plenty of time to play slowly!" Lynn stood up and dusted off his trousers. Last night while searching for interrogation techniques, he had seen many interesting and non-injurious laws, and now he could try them out! Half an hour later, Rabul was already lying paralyzed on the ground, nearly collapsing under the double torture of mind and body. In the face of Lynn's questioning, he was even more forthcoming, even confessing that he had committed crimes towards men and women alike, and even embezzled an entire ship's worth of goods for himself.

But Rabul had no knowledge of Old Lard's whereabouts, and after trying several methods of torturing the mind, Lynn had to admit that it was very likely that Rabul was not pretending.

According to the information provided by Rabul, Old Lard left two days ago, which was also the day after Anthruk led an attack on Uer Town, and the Drunkard tavern that he had visited was also searched by the Church on that day. Old York's whereabouts are still unknown.

It is very likely that at that time, Old Lard received the news and then fled in fear.

Only a small number of high-level members of the Einhorn Ship Guild know that Lord is not in the harbor town.

"It looks like you, the most capable assistant, is just a decoy!" Lynn looked at Rabul lying paralyzed on the ground and shook his head in disappointment.

Rabul indeed knows many secrets of the Ship Gang, but he has very limited information on the secret transport of materials to the wizard's land. He only knows that on the day of the week, Old Lard personally takes charge of the transportation of several large ships, but Rabul does not know where these ships go.

Lynn pondered for a long time. The opponent's caution and cunning were completely beyond his expectations. It is seemed that Old Lard had long prepared for the possibility of the betrayal of the Guild or being captured.

However, it is impossible for Old Lard alone to cross the sea by boat, which means that there must be some more core personnel within the Ship Guild responsible for this matter... The other peripheral personnel are used as cover, following Rabul's orders, and being discarded as disposable at the risk of danger.

Lynn remembered the names and experiences of the heads of the Einhorn Ship Guild that he learned from Rabul.

Each person seemed to be a possible undercover agent for Old Lard.

In thought, an idea suddenly came to Lynn's mind.

Since he can't find him, why not let Old Lard come and find him instead...
