As Lynn spoke, the Old Lard's countenance changed abruptly, cursing Kelu inwardly for divulging such crucial news to a few apprentices, thereby implicating him in the affair.
He did not believe that Lynn was deceiving him, for the movements within the Church in recent days had been an obvious signal.
It was because of this concern that he had chosen to lurk in the shadows and observe the situation, ready to flee at a moment's notice, yet he had not anticipated being drawn out once more.
"The Einhorn Ship Guild has been operating in Haygan town for many years, and news of this should be well-circulated. Do you know who was arrested by the Church?" Lynn inquired eagerly.
The Old Lard hesitated before shaking his head, somewhat helplessly replying, "Avast ye! The Einhorn Ship Guild be under close watch by the Archbishop's men, and I be knowin' naught of it. I fear the news be sealed tight, and only the priests in the town be privy to such confidential matters."
Corrupting and controlling a priest is no easy task. These individuals possess powerful divine spells, generally hold steadfast beliefs, and are not motivated by wealth. They are tough nuts to crack.
Therefore, even though the Einhorn Ship Guild has been operating in the harbor town for decades, Old Lard typically avoid these people and endeavors to have no contact with the clergy of the Holy See.
Lynn's brows couldn't help but furrow. He had hoped to glean sufficient information from the Old Lard, yet he had not expected the other party to be ignorant as well. This development was completely unexpected.
"Sir Wizard, be ye plannin' to rescue the captured apprentice?" the Old Lard looked at Lynn and tentatively asked.
"That's right, isn't this important for you as well?" Lynn said smoothly.
"I'm afraid it be difficult, mate. There be guards everywhere in the harbor town now, and they may not be detained in the port prison. Even if ye manage to rescue 'em, ye won't be able to escape from the harbor town." The Old Lard shook his head and refuted. "Instead of takin' this risk, it be better to think of a way to eliminate 'em. It will be much easier!"
Since the other party knows the secrets of the Einhorn Ship Guild, it is enough to make this person disappear.
Generally speaking, killing is easier than saving!
Lynn was not surprised at the Old Lard's viciousness. In this dark world, a single life is not worth much, let alone the secrets of the wizarding place.
However, Lynn does not agree with the other's view, sneering as he said, "Old Lard, don't you think that after this is over, the Einhorn Ship Guild can continue to operate safely in Haygan town and accumulate wealth?"
Since Anthruk chose the harbor town as its base, it must mean that the other party has found some clues. Even if Dove and Aubrey are dead now, Old Lard's head will eventually be located.

After all, most of the cargo transportation in the harbor town is related to the Einhorn Ship Guild
Lard's face contorted in annoyance. He naturally could also think of this, but he was unwilling to admit this fact.
It's been twenty years since he has dwelled in the Haygan town, and all of his efforts in the second half of his life have been here!
"You are a smart man, Old Lard. Our only way out now is to take a ship through the foggy sea to the wizard's land, otherwise, no matter where you hide, you will be dragged out by the teaching palace for what you did!" Lynn said grimly. "Now you can take some of the accumulated money with you across the sea, but if Anthruk takes the initiative, you may not even be able to live!"
Lard looked deeply at Lynn and seemed to want to say something, but finally sighed helplessly. "It be too late to go towards the sea now! The harbor town has started to strictly control the incoming and outgoing cargo ships. Today, two large ships carryin' goods to the imperial city were seized."
"So soon?" Lynn hesitated, it seemed that the situation was worse than he thought, but soon he calmed down and asked, "But you should have a way to solve it, right?"
This old fox is so cautious and good at hiding like a mole. If it weren't for the transformation magic that allowed him to disguise as the one of his subordinates, he really wouldn't have any way to bring the other party out.
Lynn does not believe that Old Lard, a wary person by nature, would not foresee the day when he was trapped in the town by the port blockade and would not make any preparations.
Lynn quickly thought about all the information he had heard in the past few days...
Since the harbor is in a semi-blockade state, during this period, only those military ships responsible for patrolling the sea can freely leave the port!
"Which ship, the Spirit, the Sky, or the Guardian, has your people in it?" Lynn asked curiously.
Lard's mouth twitched. He didn't expect Lynn to guess this too, and even suspected that someone in his confidants had betrayed him. He could only admit it with gritted teeth. "the....Sky!"
It's enough!
Lynn was intrigued by Old Lard's means, and to his surprise, he actually had the power to commandeer a warship. He had merely asked just in case, he did not expect such an answer from Old Lard.
Unhappy, Old Lard spoke. "Matters be not as simple as ye might believe. Although the captain of the Sky Ship be a man o' mine, every departure and arrival at the port requires the submission of a report for examination. If we deviate from our course, it won't be long before we be discovered by sentinels."
On the Misty Sea, our warship can only rely on archery or ramming in close combat, but the enemy ship boasts priests. With a few well-placed spells, even the most sturdy vessel will be reduced to rubble.
Moreover, the large-scale transfer of personnel and supplies is no easy feat.
"You need not worry about this," Lynn confidently declared. "When we cross the sea, they will have no time to attend to us."
"I have a plan," he continued. "If it succeeds, even a multitude of troops will pose no threat. However, this will require the cooperation of your Guild..."
Lynn gazed at Lord, awaiting his response. The Einhorn Ship Guild comprises thousands of ship workers - a mob, perhaps, but a formidable force all the same, should it be mobilized.
"Do not place yer faith in relyin' upon the guild to oppose the Church's soldiers..." Old Lard sighed, the guild may have a large number of members, but most of them are ordinary people and simply scraping by under his leadership.
Normally, brawling within the gang is one thing, but if they were to truly engage in combat with a regular army, it is likely that half their number would turn back before a single blow was struck.
"Have no fear, I merely require your assistance in completing some small tasks." Lynn withdrew a sheepskin parchment from his sleeve and presented it to Lard. "Are you able to gather these items? The more the merrier!"
