Chapter 26 Cup of the Sun

Chapter 26 Cup of the Sun

There are many submarine villages along the route of Yesel which is connected to the largest underwater city, Yesel. Although most Senyerian live on land, there are still some who prefer to live on the seafloor.

This route is also a trade route, and merchants from the Kingdom of Hinsai frequently travel on it. Several sea monsters of different shapes lead the way, including one with a bony palace growing on the back of its giant starfish-like body, where the King of Wisdom is sitting.

Hundreds of guards from the Kingdom of Hinsai, along with several priests who control strange shrimp, accompany them on the journey. The most common species on the seafloor are trilobites, and there are some ancestor fish. As the Sanye raise the fish, this species has also begun to spread across the sea.

"Here comes the King of Wisdom!"

"Our supreme king of the Kingdom of Hinsai has arrived."

"Look, it's a mythical behemoth given by God."

Along the way, the people in the villages of the Hinsai Kingdom celebrate the arrival of the King of Wisdom, Yesel. They look at the fusion monster like a hill and are awed by it. Many even follow him until they are far away.

Yesel is the center of their attention. Finally, they arrive at the city of Yesel, where thousands of people shuttle out from the bottom of the sea, floating on the surface of the sea to greet their king.

The lord of Yesel City dives out of the sea, steps onto the fusion monster's back, and kneels in front of the palace. "Great King of Wisdom, your people welcome you."

Yesel also walks out, looking a bit sorrowful as he gazes upon the sea area. "It's been a long time since I came back."

Under the leadership of the lord, a huge fusion monster dove into the sea. Under the blue transparent sea, bubbles continuously float up. The seabed, under the refraction of sunlight, is a magnificent seabed city.

A large area of Sanyes live and inhabit here, entering and leaving the buildings submerged in the sea. Some drive fish to the seabed vegetation formed by ancient creatures. There are also teams patrolling the waters above the city with bone spears.

As they enter the former palace of Yesel, the lord immediately asks cautiously, "The King of Wisdom! May I ask why you have come back this time?"

Yesel does not answer but asks a question first. "These years, has someone entered the divine land again, or rather, has anyone seen it?"

The lord of Yesel City is stunned. "There has been no news about the divine land for decades. If it weren't for the king, I would have forgotten that the divine land is also in this sea area."

"Even I can't remember which direction it was in," he said. He tried his best to remember, but something in his mind was suppressing his memory of the location, making it impossible for him to recall.

As soon as he finished speaking, the lord of Yesel City became excited. "My King, you are not planning on going back to..." he exclaimed.

The second-generation king of wisdom, Yesel, looked out into the depths of the sea, his eyes seeing the memories of the past, seeing his father eyes. They shared the same piety and stability.

"I want to take another look at the divine land. I don't expect to bathe in God's glory again, but only seek a hint of guidance. I want God to guide Sanyeren's future. We, the descendants of Ledley, must pay for our sins."

Above the boundless sea, a group of Sanyes and a few fusion monsters were searching. They had been wandering around like sea worms without eyes for half a month, but without any results.

They had searched everywhere, from the sea surface to the bottom of the sea, but couldn't find a trace. There was a powerful force in the world that prevented them from approaching the land in legend.

"It should be here. Obviously, it is here," one of them said. "Why can we never find it?"

In the palace made of bone, an elderly Sanye collapsed and died.

"This is God's punishment! God made it so that we must never return to Paradise," Someone cried.

The Sanyeren rushed out to face the boundless sea. He knelt on the Fusion Monster's head, crying bitterly. He was one of the most noble dignitaries in the divine city in the past. He differed from the young man only in his yearning and longing for the divine land. He had personally witnessed the disaster caused by the son of the first king of wisdom, the blasphemous sinner Ens.

He had experienced the shock of the first king of wisdom's death and the sadness of being driven out of the land given by God. He was born under the blessing of the gods and had watched the divine city grow. He had heard the great King of Wisdom, Ledley, proclaim that they were the eldest sons of the gods. He had once looked at Divine City from a distance and wept bitterly. The older he got, the stronger his desire to return to God's blessing became.

He was desperate.

"We..."

"Maybe we will never be able to return to the divine land," someone said.

Yesel looked at the elder who used to follow his father and said, "His generation can still find this sea area with vague memories and records. But if a few more generations pass..."

"God will forgive us," he continued. "We, the wandering children, will be able to go home one day."

Yesel still had a fantasy in his heart. Perhaps the gods could see his piety and perseverance this way.

The divine land was now a sea of flowers overgrown with golden cups shinning in the sun, crawling over a city in ruins. Sally was the only being on this huge island who could move freely. The entire island was her garden.

She usually sat on the steps in front of the temple, imitating God watching the sunset and the moon, or looking up at the statue of God in the depths of the temple. It was as if a whole day passed in a single glance.

Sometimes, she walked through the sea of flowers in the ruined city, poking at the corollas of the cups of the sun and smelling the fragrance of the sea of flowers. These cups of the sun shattered the originally neat stone road, and Sally went from the ruined city all the way through the sea of flowers that towered over her, to the sea.

She came to the place where God had asked her to plant the first cup of the sun in the past, and picked up the stone flowerpot she had thrown away. As she picked up a golden flower and wanted to stuff it into the flowerpot and hug it in her arms as usual, it was violently pulled out from the ground. The half-vegetable, half-animal flower immediately let out a scream and opened its fangs and sharp teeth. But as soon as it struggled, Sally grabbed it with her hand and used force.

"Snap!"

The flower stem broke in two. Did it die?

"Gurulu?" Sally made a sound but didn't care. She threw the broken sun cup into the sea and then ran her poisonous hand to the next one.

In the sea, the sun cup flower floated along and gradually disappeared into the distance.
