Introduction

2000 years ago, in the year 33 A.D. on Earth, a dimensional crack allowed the 12 Supreme Vampiric Clans and many of the clans that were under them, to get to Earth, escaping their own world, Discordia, and escaping a prophecy that had united the majority of Discordia under the tyrannical rule of the leader of the 13th clan, Eris Eden and her allies. The 12 Supreme Vampiric Clans vowed to keep the peace among themselves and to live in the shadows of Earth, so they stayed outside of human affairs as much as possible, however this peace was not to last.

500 years after the arrival of the 12 Supreme Clans on Earth, The Eden Clan managed to open a dimensional crack to pass through, and the war started again, but this time, Eris had brought with her the allies she had managed to acquire from the 4 other kingdoms that existed in Discordia. These allies followed Eris due to the prophecy that came from the Principia Discordia, their sacred text, a prophecy that stated that there shall be born a being that will destroy or save the world, and Eris Eden’s allies from those other 4 continents believed that being to be her. They called her The Golden Queen.

Vampires had populated 1 of the 5 continents that existed in Discordia, the continent they populated was called Aurum, and the kingdom that ruled the vampiric continent of Aurum was called The Kingdom of Eden. Aurum was separated from the other 4 continents by the Ocean of Mist, the other 4 continents were ruled by 4 different kingdoms. The northern kingdom that ruled the northern continent was called The Kingdom of The Fae, and it was ruled and populated by the white fairies and the white elves. The southern kingdom that ruled the southern continent was called The Titan Kingdom, and it was ruled and populated by giants. The eastern kingdom that ruled the eastern continent was called The Empire of Fire, and it was ruled and populated by dragons. And lastly the western kingdom that ruled the western continent was called The Free Country and was ruled and populated by the beast folk.

50 years after Eris Eden and her army arrived on earth, Eris, using forbidden sorcery, opened more dimensional cracks, and from these dimensional cracks, demons from a place called The Pit poured out, her army became even bigger. Some of these demons were mindless monsters that killed everything in their wake, others have intelligence and were far more powerful than regular mindless demons.

 The period of strife that started when Eris and her allies, also called The Army of Discordia, crossed the dimensional crack, and arrived on earth went on for a thousand years and was called The War of Chaos, it was the bloodiest period in the history of humanity.

However, around the year 1,500 A.D., the coalition of the 12 Supreme Clans and its allies managed to kill Eris and defeat The Army of Discordia, and so the war came to an end.

Nonetheless, the dimensional cracks kept appearing and demons kept passing through them to Earth, so the 12 Supreme Clans vowed to take a stand and protect humanity in secret. The remaining members of the 13th clan, that is to say, all of Eris Eden’s descendants and her allies, were hunted down and exterminated, so they could no longer bring another age of chaos and destruction to earth.

In the year 2000 A.D. with the advancement of technology rapidly developing on earth making it more difficult for vampires to remain secretly among humans, the Council of 12, which was the governing body of the vampiric society on earth, decided to make the existence of vampires known to humanity. And so, we arrive at the current year 2024 A.D.

However, despite it all, It is believed by some that a bloodline directly descended from Eris still exist, but the majority of vampires consider this to be a myth, an urban legend, maybe they are right, maybe the Eden clan is truly dead and gone, or maybe there is still someone out there carrying within them the blood and powers of Eris……..

1. Eris

Present day

-we are in trouble, this demon is too strong for us, what do we do, team leader? -said one of the delta level vampires that were fighting the creature that had come out of a dimensional crack.

There were 3 delta level vampires and one gamma level vampire, and by order of strength the gamma level vampire was the team leader, his name was Job.

-we are just going to have to keep it occupied until reinforcements show up, I already sent a distress signal to HQ, but you know that lately we have had so many dimensional cracks showing up that we are already spread thin- Job said, knowing full well that they were outmatched by the demon, it was skinny and had long limbs and its speed was insane.

It had been three weeks since things had gotten so chaotic, dimensional cracks had started appearing far more frequently than normal, and they probably were going to have to keep fighting the demon for an hour or two before any reinforcements showed up.

At least that’s what Job thought, however when it seemed that the demon was about to get the better of Job, the attack was suddenly blocked.

Reinforcements had arrived, Job stood with his mouth agape when he saw who it was.

-Guys, are all of you okay? sorry for the delay, but we have been busy lately, don’t worry about this demon anymore, I will take care of it- Said Alan with a smile on his face.

He was one of the strongest vampires that had ever lived, all of them stood in awe to see the legendary Alan from the clan Vici, one of the 12 supreme clans, in front of them.

The fight from that point on was rather quick, the demon that had given such a hard time to the other 4 vampires was quickly beheaded by Alan, by coating his arm in hardened blood he was able to give it a fatal blow.

-incredible, he didn’t even use any of his abilities or his demonic arms, I guess that’s the difference between one of us and an omega level vampire- Job said, omega level vampires where the strongest of them all, and there could only be four of them at a time, all other vampires referred to them as the 4 Cardinal Marshals.

-ok guys, we are done here so be seeing you- Alan said

-wait, could you give me your auto…- before Job could finish his sentence, Alan had disappeared, his speed making the speed of the demon they had been fighting look like if the demon had been going in slow motion.

-wow, so fast, but I also wanted his autograph- one of the delta level vampires said, and she put her hand on Job’s shoulder, trying to console him.

-there, that seems to be the last one- Alan said

-thank you very much, Mr. Vici, we would have been in trouble if you didn’t show up when you did- said the leader of the team that was dealing with a demon that had a massive size and strength.

- it was no problem, well, I will be taking my leave now, keep the good work- at that point Alan had helped 3 more teams deal with their respective dimensional cracks, and one of those cracks was even emanating gray energy, meaning it was a beta level demon with some intelligence that came out of that crack.

There were 3 main types of dimensional cracks, the ones that emanated white energy were the most common ones, and the ones with the easiest demons to deal with because they had no intelligence, they were basically rampaging beasts, they call this type of dimensional crack, white cracks, then there were the dimensional cracks that emanated gray energy, depending on the shade of gray, the demons that came out of those had some cunning to actual intelligence, they call this type of dimensional crack a gray crack, and lastly there were the dimensional cracks that emanated black energy, this type of dimensional crack was rare, however when one of the black cracks appeared, it could become a major disaster, as the demons that came out of those were awakened, and had managed to evolve, they were no longer just beast with some intelligence, but they appeared humanoid in form, and had far more power and intelligence than the other demons. There was one last type of crack, the purple crack, that emanated purple energy, however this crack had not been seen to appear since the end of The War of Chaos, a purple crack could allow an army of demons to pass through them.

Alan was headed for the Vici state, all the while his mind was racing, it worried him that three weeks ago all of a sudden the cracks had begun to spawn all over the world at an unprecedented speed, all the other clans around the world were having trouble keeping up with them too, it had garnered attention from the media, and some in the vampiric world and in the human media had even begun to theorize that maybe the demons that ruled over The Pit had found a way to send more of their armies by creating more cracks, although Alan wasn’t completely convinced.

At that moment Alan’s cell rang.

-hello, Luke, any news on the task I gave you- Luke was Alan’s little brother, Alan had tasked him with investigating the reason for the sudden spike in cracks.

-yes brother, I’m afraid so- Luke’s tone was strange, Alan couldn’t tell if Luke was scared or angry.

-what happened Luke, come on, don’t keep me in suspense- Alan said trying to lighten the mood.

-brother, there is a girl, she is a vampire, but I’m not sure how to put this- Luke hesitated

-oh, come on Luke, spit it out already what’s up with this girl- Alan had never heard that tone in Luke’s voice.

- I think this girl is the reason the cracks have ramped up as of late, brother, her blood is the color of gold, she doesn’t have a V-tag and she has incredible power for someone who just awakened around three weeks ago- Luke said still in that weird tone, but now Alan understood why.

-wait, you are not trying to tell me she is a descendant of…- Alan got cut off by Luke.

-Alan her name, her name is… is- Luke said hesitating

-come on, what is her name, tell me already damn it- Alan said more frightened than annoyed

-Eris- Luke said and there was a long silence on the line after that.

Eris woke up with the same depression as usual, however this time was worse, as it was not only her birthday but also the one year anniversary of her older brother’s death, the only person she had left in this world, she loved him, he was kind and gentle, and also strong, when he passed, she thought she was going to be sent to an orphanage, but he had managed to left her emancipated, he also left her enough money to last her for the rest of her life, this made his loss a little more bearable but her depression had gotten the better of her for the past year.

A few months back she had put a rope through a big wooden beam that was horizontally placed, she made a noose, and was planning on hanging herself, but she remembered the face of her brother, how he had told her, while in his deatbed, that he wanted her to live a long and happy life. She couldn’t just kill herself, however that rope stayed where it was, and she always stared at the noose, thinking, that one day she might go through with it.

It was summer break, so school was out, and that was fine by her, she preferred to stay inside, and play videogames all day, it was that memory of her brother and her love for video games that had kept her going until now, she was planning to spend the whole day by herself in her 15th birthday, she ordered food to be delivered home, and kept playing videogames, she was going to play a lot now that summer vacation had started.

When she realized it, it was already 10:00pm, she was sleepy, so she got to her bed and within five minutes she was already sleep, she had been born at 11:26pm of that day 15 years ago, so when that hour hit, she was already well asleep.

And that’s when it happened, a dream, the most vivid dream she had ever had, she was in her room, looking at herself sleep, and then she realized she wasn’t alone, there was a woman there, she was tall, around 6’1 and she was looking at her from the shadows in her room, she was wearing a crimson red suit, and smiling.

-who are you? what’s going on? - Eris asked, scared of the woman in the shadows, now everything but her face was visible.

-me? I’m your future, I’m here to tell you that you have never been human, you are something different, and you will find out just how different you are when you wake up- the woman smiled, it was a big smile and Eris could only tell the woman was smiling because she could see her teeth.

-my future? Never been human? Something different? What is that supposed to mean, you are being awfully cryptic- Eris said, this time her anger matched her fear.

The woman started walking around the room, like she was inspecting everything, she stopped right in front of Eris’s gaming console and all of her games, there were a lot of them around the floor and in a desk she had, were her setup for playing was.

-I see you like games, interesting, so this is what we’ll do, I…. - the woman got cut off by Eris.

-did you not hear me? I don’t know what you are even talking about, who are you? What’s going on? And why…. – now the woman cut Eris off.

-listen girl, all of these questions you are asking will be answered soon enough by someone else, I’m not here to explain everything to you, what I’m doing here is informing you that by the time you wake up your abilities will have awakened and you will be a full-fledged vampire- the woman said in a tone of finality -now, as I was saying, I see you like games, so here is what’s going to happen, you will wake up and you will have new abilities, abilities no mortal could ever dream of, but don’t worry I won’t be leaving you to figure this out with no help, we will make a game out of it, and when the time comes, someone will explain everything to you- in that moment the woman started to banish –a, yes, before I’m gone, one last thing, you will find out who I am eventually, but the fact that you are a descendant of mine doesn’t mean you have to follow in my footsteps, use this power however you like, I TELL YOU, YOU ARE FREE- when the woman said those last few words, she had begun to laugh, her laugh resonated all over the room and then the room began shaking and just when it seemed the room was about to fall in on Eris, she woke up.

At the beginning she was shocked that something like this was happening, a vampire? Choose classes? This seemed too surreal for her, of course she had heard about vampires, 24 years ago they had revealed themselves to the human race, but she never believed she could be one, for a moment she thought she was still dreaming, but then she pinched herself and the pain was real alright, so she did as the screen said and spent the rest of the day tinkering with it, she found out she could see the abilities and weaknesses of each class, and when she had already decided, she clicked on the classes she wanted, a new message appeared:

In that moment, just when she was wondering what this message meant by “defeat 50 demons”, she heard a commotion outside, she looked out the window and sure enough there was something there, causing massive destruction, something that looked like a demon, like the ones she had seen the vampires fighting on tv , she soon realized the demon was looking for her, so she put some clothes on, and went out.

When she got outside, she realized that she couldn’t fight a demon that humongous, she got scared, however before she could go back to her room to hide under the covers and thinking this was all a bad dream, the demon hit her hard enough to make her crash and destroy a nearby wall, that’s when she realized, it didn’t hurt, not even a little, in that moment she decided to try and give it a shot, she punched the demon and sure enough, with one punch the demons’ torso exploded.

She thought more vampires were bound to show up, she was wondering what to do next after killing the demon when a message appeared again before her:

Congratulations on killing your first demon.

You only have 49 to go.

So, she waited, she was in the rooftop of a building, having just killed a demon that had long limbs and was incredibly fast, when a handsome guy appeared in front of her, she recognized him, he was Luke Vici, she had seen him on some interviews he had appeared in, he was the second in command of the Vici clan, he introduced himself.

-Good morning, my name is Luke Vici, and I’m guessing you are the one that has been fighting and killing the demons that have been appearing in this area.

-yes, that would be me, and you are the second in command of the Vici clan? unless I’m mistaken - Eris asked in a curious tone.

-yes, that’s right, I have a lot I want to discuss with you, but for now why don’t we start with your name- Luke said in a courteous tone.

-sure, my name is Eris- in that moment Eris saw how the already pale Luke, turned even paler, he looked like he was going to barf and pass out at the same time.

-is that all she told you? – Alan asked Luke in an inquisitive tone.

-yes, she said she didn’t know anything else, she is in the next room over- Luke said anxiously.

-how did you manage to find her? -Alan asked

-there was an area where cracks were appearing and the demons were dying, around three weeks ago, and no vampire was taking responsibility for destroying them, it took me a while, but I was able to follow her trace, with the help of The Machine of course- Luke answered

-I see, so that’s how you found her, did you use a blood compass to see if she has the abilities of all eight classes? – Alan asked.

-no, I wanted to wait for you, I don’t think it’s wise for me to do anything without you, you are the head of the clan after all- Luke responded

-you also told me she had killed 30 demons, some of them even came out of gray cracks, so she is pretty strong, she might even be a beta-level vampire. To become so strong in such a short time and without knowing the basics, that’s truly outstanding talent. - Alan said this almost as if talking to himself

-yes, however if she ends up being an enemy, I could take care of her no problem, you wouldn’t even need to get involved- Luke said.

-I see, you have a point, a dream, huh, and a system that looks like a videogame that only she can see, hey Luke, do you think the woman she saw in her dream was THE Eris? – Alan asked, he looked excited and at the same time frightened.

-I don’t know brother, it’s possible, maybe she made it so that one of the bloodlines she had created had a latent dormant vampiric gene that could not be detected by other vampires, and when a certain amount of time passed, it would awaken said genes. It would not be surprising that someone like Eris would have had such powers. – Luke still looked pale, and he had reason to be, if any of the other clans found out there was a living descendant of the 13th clan they would send assassins immediately, and would kill anyone who got in their way, and currently, not only had Luke and Alan not killed the descendant of Eris Eden but were giving her safe harbor at their home.

-Luke what do you think we should do? I want your opinion on this matter, no, scratch that, I need your opinion on this matter, brother. – Alan said, Luke realized by the look on his face that Alan was well aware of their current predicament.

-brother, I…. I think we should at least hear her out and get to know her and her intentions, I don’t think it’s fair for us to judge her based on her ancestors deeds, however we should be extremely careful in whom we trust, if this gets out, it could put us in a really dangerous position, that’s why I took extra steps to get her into the mansion in a way that nobody else would see her- Luke still had a pale face, however there was also resolve on his words.

Alan put his hand on Luke’s shoulder and smiled -brother, I think the same way you do, that’s why I love you, you can look at a situation critically but also with the compassion necessary to make the right call, I’m proud of you, brother-

Luke’s paleness was gone, replaced now with some blushing and a smile- I knew you would understand, Alan- Luke signaled at the room where Eris was waiting and said- shall we? -

Alan just nodded his head and started walking to the room.

Eris was eating some cookies when the two men entered the room, Luke, who had looked so powerful when she meet him, looked weak now in comparison to the other guy, she was sure Luke could beat her in a fight, however going against the other guy, she sensed, would not be a fight but a massacre, he was way stronger than any being she had seen or fought before, she also recognized from tv, he was Alan Vici, the head of the clan.

-good afternoon, my name is Alan Vici, and I have a few questions for you- Alan said, as courteously as possible

-good afternoon, my name is Eris Smith, and I have some questions for you too, so why don’t we play a game, you answer one of my questions, and I’ll answer one of yours- Eris said firmly

-ok, deal, but I’m first, what are your intentions and what is your purpose with the powers that have been granted to you? – Alan said that in as serious a tone as he possibly could.

-I…- Eris hesitated for a second, that question had caught her off guard, however, her face filled with determination and resolve and she said -I have decided I want to live, I am no longer going to wallow in self-pity, I see this as a new opportunity to make my life mean something and to make someone I loved very dearly, proud- Eris’s determination caught Alan off guard for a moment.

-I see, the person you loved dearly, is it the brother you had, that Luke told me about? – Alan asked, Luke saw in Alan’s face a bright smile.

-not so fast, it’s my turn to ask a question, if I’m a vampire, then why haven’t I felt the need to drink blood and why does the sun not burn me? – Eris had wanted to know that since she awakened as a vampire.

-ahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha- Alan’s laughter made Eris’s face frown- I’m sorry, Eris, I didn’t mean to laugh, it’s just, that’s exactly the type of question I would have expected from someone who only knows vampires from videogames and movies, to answer your question, all that stuff about the sun killing us, the need to drink blood, the garlic and crosses, its all  fiction, real vampires don’t have those types of needs or weaknesses- Alan said this as courteously as he possibly could, as not to offend Eris any further.

-I see, interesting, your turn- Eris was not offended by the way Alan answered that question, she figured she would have also laughed at the cliché of it all, if she was in his shoes.

-so, the person you loved dearly? - Alan said.

- yes, he was my brother, he died around a year ago, since his death I had thought of ending it all, but then this happened, and as I said, I’m going to make the best of this new opportunity, I will fight and become stronger, and I’m going to make him proud. My turn, the system told me I could trust you and Luke, but can I really trust you? Why all this cloak and dagger stuff when trying to get me into this mansion? – Eris, for the first time, seemed somewhat scared, Alan assumed she was concerned about her safety.

-based on what you have told us about your intentions, yes, you can trust us, and the reasons we were so careful when bringing you here, well, that’s a little bit more complicated…- Alan then proceeded to tell her everything about her lineage, how it could affect the Vici clan and how the other clans would more than likely choose to dispose of her, if they ever found out about her existence. When Alan was done explaining, there was a perplexing look on Eris’s face.

-if my ancestor was such a murderous tyrant, and all the other clans would hunt me down, why have you decided to help me? -Eris said in a skeptical tone.

- well that’s simple, it’s because I think you are nothing like the murderous tyrant Eris, now that I have spoken with you, all I see is an opportunity for a bright future, I expect that if you learn how to control your powers, you could bring an era of peace by closing the dimensional cracks that cause so much pain throughout the world, in other words, all I see when I see you, is hope, Eris Smith, so I will protect you and help you hide until the rest of the clans can see what I see in you- Alan said this with heartfelt determination, and all Eris could do is smile.

-you know, I had never met someone like you, I will cooperate with you as much as possible, if what you said just now is true, you have an ally in me- Eris seemed happy in that moment, and she was happy, because in that moment, when Alan said he saw hope in her, she stopped feeling alone, she had found someone that she could trust.

Alan smiled at this,” it seems my judgement was not wrong after all”, he thought and then he said- ok, so if you will cooperate with us, to begin, I would like you to pour some of you blood here- Alan grabbed something that looked like a compass from a desk nearby.- this is a blood compass, it will tell us what class you fall under as a vampire, there are 8 classes, and I know you told Luke that you were an assassin and summoner type, but we need to make sure that if any of the other clans try and test your blood, it will not appear that you can use all eight classes, that would practically be telling them you are a descendant of Eris Eden- Alan said

-very well- Eris said this with curiosity regarding the object, it looked like a compass as she had thought but it was also very different, it had a needle that she assumed is where you pinched your finger and the compass told you your class, also it had 8 arrows, instead of the two that were the usual in a normal compass, and in circular order there were all the classes the system had shown her, she pinched her finger on the needle, and 2 out of the 8 arrows started spinning until one stopped in the assassin class, and the other one stopped in the summoner class, Eris saw how both Luke and Alan breathed a sigh of relief.

-well, now that that’s been taken care of, we need to find a way to make your blood red again, golden blood is a dead giveaway of a descendant of Eris, it shows that they have in their DNA the Golden Apple of Discord, I wonder how we can fix this? Uhm? – Alan said.

-wait, 2 things, first, I think I can use the system to change the color of my blood back to normal, I’ll try in a moment, but second, what is the Golden Apple of Discord? – Eris asked in a curious tone.

- the Golden Apple of Discord is one of the 3 supreme demonic arms, demonic arms are what we, vampires, use as weapons, the demonic arms take blood to function but in exchange they give you power, so 1 of the 3 supreme demonic arms is a big deal- Luke said.

-I see, I guess you are right, it is a big deal- Eris said.

-so, can you change your blood color? – Alan asked, now he was curious, he had never heard of this being part of the tyrant Eris’s powers, but at the end of the day Eris Eden defied comprehension, so it made sense that the rest of the vampiric world didn’t know about some of her powers.

-yes, the system allowed me to do it, look- in that moment Eris cut her finger and her blood was now the normal color red, another sigh of relief from both Vici siblings.

-There is something else that has me worried, something Luke mentioned, something about a v-tag, that all vampires should have one- Eris said

- don’t worry about the v-tag, the material to make a v-tag is usually hard to get and the creation of a v-tag usually must be approved by the Supreme Counsel, however, I am the head of the Vici clan, one of the 12 supreme clans, getting you a v-tag will be child’s play for me- Alan said confidently. -one last thing, your name, from now on you can’t use your real name, Eris is too on the nose, so from now on you will carry our last name, Vici, we will adopt you into the family and give you our full support, you can choose the first name you want to have-

-I already know what name I want, from now on my name will be Elizabeth, Elizabeth Vici, yeah, I like how it sounds- Elizabeth said smiling- so I’m guessing I’ll be living here from now on? –

-that’s right, you will be staying with us, there are many things you still don’t know about the vampiric world, but don’t worry, we will help you with that when the time comes, Luke will show you to your room-Alan said. Eris was about to walk out of the room with Luke when Alan said -oh I almost forgot, two more things, one, if you ever see a vampire with a spiral anywhere on his body or on his clothes or anywhere on him, stay as far away from them as possible, they are a gang of vampires that work for the underworld and their specialty is killing anything they are tasked to, basically, they are vampiric hitmen  and they are really good at it- Alan gave Elizabeth a look that said she should heed his warning.

-understood, and the second thing? – Elizabeth said while thinking back of what she had heard on the news about this gang of vampires, although the news called them a gang they acted more like mercenaries, they called themselves The Death Spirals, she was pretty sure that was who Alan was referring to.

-When summer break is over, you will be officially signing up with the Guild and you will have to either become a part of or create a coven, they have a board of jobs were you can pic the one that suits you better, once you complete the job you picked you are paid, of course what you are paid depends  on the difficulty of the job, is that ok with you, Eli? - Alan asked Elizabeth.

-that’s fine by me- Eli said, she had heard of the Guild too, although their inner workings had not been made public to any human, the fact that they were the vampiric military force that protected humans from demons was well known -but I also have one more question, what are we going to do with what’s left of summer? – Eli asked
