Urrrik! Urrrik! "Warning, scan subject showing signs of severe stress." A systematic alert was broadcasted throughout the lab, fallowed by the muffled sound of someone screaming. Soon after, a scientist was sent to notify Martin, who was still waiting for the elevator to arrive rather impatiently. Martin turned around and glared menacingly at the approaching scientist. "Make it snappy or I'll break your neck." Martin said. Clearly mad enough to do it. Seeing the look Martin gave him, the scientist froze in place, piss trickling down his thigh. "Out with it!" Martin yelled. Trying very hard to control his anger.
"Ma- ma- Martin, there is a slight problem with the scan subject." Afraid of Martin, and what he might do to him, the scientist took a single step backward. Martin stood still for a few seconds stareing at the scientists face, and then took a very a deep breath. The scientist was surprised to see that Martin was able to control his breathing, and was slightly confused about the sudden change of temper. "How bad is the situation?" Martin said very calm and quietly. The scientist had to strain his hearing in order to figure out what Martin was saying.
"Oh, well it is very bad sir. We are having trouble clearing chemicals off of the VR pod, and fear that some of the hazordous chemicals might have made their way into the machine." Martin quickly approached the scientist, and wrapped his hand around his neck, his calm expression now nowhere to be seen. Martin slammed the mans head into an intercom that was built inside the elevator door pannel. After confirming that the scientist was unconious Martin yelled into the intercom."I need some men with hasmat suits ready to assist me with the VR pod!"
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
Moments later a small team of men dressed in hasmat suits surrounded the half melted VR pod, they each had hoses that spewed out strange blue liquid. After a few minuets of hosing it down, Martin could finally look into the machine. Upon seeing the sorry state that the boy was in, Martin thought it would be cruel if he didn't put the kid out of his mysery. The still concious kid watched as Martin pulled out his six shooter, ready to end it all here. A look of determination showed on his face, makeing Martin feel oddly intimidated.'To think a kid like this could make me feal intimidated, looks like im getting soft.'Martin thought as he steadied his aim on the kids forhead.
The kid raised his head, and puffed out what remained of his chest. "I refuse to die here!" he yelled. He looked like he wouldn't yield to anything, not even death. "To bad kid, your no good to us now." Martin replied. An evil grin spread itself across Martins face. Time felt like it slowed down as Martin pulled the trigger. The kid could clearly see a bullet slowly making its way towards his face.
Right before the bullet entered his skull, he started to feel a horribly painful feeling deep within his head. It was as if his brain was being sucked out through a straw. Right when he thought the pain would never end, everything went black leaving him in complete darkness. Moments later a strange monotonous voice sounded out in the darkness. "Scan complete, welcome -Unkown- to Cataclysm Online."
