In this world, there are things called Energons. At the time of their discovery all around the world, no one knew exactly how they had arrived or how they came to be. As far as most people were concerned, they were simply just crystal-like structures. After much experimentation, these crystals were found to contain creatures within them that could be called out into the real world. However, it was discovered that their bodies lacked a concrete foundation and could only temporarily exist as a small harmless flame of light for a few minutes.

Since then, many things have changed. Energons are now released by command as fully stabilized creatures and are used as a game for children. Mankind has developed the technology to control these creatures, but the creator of the game believed that only those who are of the recommended age and up should be allowed to be an Energon Warrior, which is someone who can handle the Engergon's spirit and release the creature within the crystal. To release what is inside, one must use a special device know as the Energon Battle Gauntlet, also know as E.B.G. To use this device the user must meet the requirements such as age, adequate physical and mental strength, and more. After numerous studies, it was eventually decided that the age of 10 was about the earliest age one could be in order to meet the requirements of the E.B.G. Energons vary in types, such as humanoids, hybrids, birds, dragons, beasts, spirits, and everything else possibly imaginable. However, being an Energon Warrior is no ordinary test because there are two parts to it. After meeting the requirements for an E.B.G., the user must be worthy enough to be selected by an Energon. Researchers have yet to crack the code as to how to form the bond between an Energon Warrior and an Energon without having the Energon select its own partner first.

Energons start out as moderately sized rock like eggs but when they have chosen their partner, they will hatch. Inside of the egg will be an Energon crystal small enough to fit inside of a pocket for convenience sake. People everywhere have begun to play what is now the most popular game in the world, Energon.
