There was an awkward pause in silence. I thought to myself, "Does she...speak? Did I really just let this girl into my house...she could be dangerous. But, she was unconcscious...I'll take my chances."
She shook her head no and she lowered her head and stared down in her lap.
"Hmm... Okay."
I grabbed the plate from her nightstand and put it in the fridge. Before I returned to her room I grabbed a hoodie of mine and took it with me to her room. I placed it on her bed and told her that she can wear it if she wants to. I also gave her some clothes that I grew out of, then, I sat on the floor with my legs crossed while she was still in bed.
"My name is Xiaojun." I smiled at her as I unfolded my legs. She stared at me for a while before she said anything.
"My name is Loire. You can call me Luni though. It's my nickname."
Ah, so the mystery girl speaks. Her voice is soft and faint. Almost like a lullaby, it's calming.
"Oh, so you do talk. Were you just not comfortable?"
"I was trying to figure you out first. You don't seem like a threat."
"What?...why would I-? Anyways, what were you doing last night? Did something happen? I found you unconscious lying on the beach. It was late at night too..and you were barely breathing...are you hurt?"
She seemed like she was in a daze, her eyes staring off into the distance, not fixated on anyhting in particular. I hope I didn't let some psycho in my house...
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
Loire sighed and looked at me before speaking. "...Follow me."
The words that left her mouth lingered in my head. "Follow you? Follow you where?"
Luni left the room as I watched her. After a few seconds, I decided to follow her. She walked out of my house and I followed her outside. She ended up walking to the same place where I found her on the beach. I walked down the boardwalk and onto the sand once again. She stopped walking once she reached the shore. She looked at me as she gently placed one foot into the calm water. She stepped further out into the water until her ankles were completely submerged. She stretched out her hand for me to take. I removed my shoes and socks and stepped into the water with her.
"...What are you doing?... What am I doing?!" Seriously! What am I doing?!
I...I don't know if I should trust her or not. She doesn't seem like she's going to do anything...then again she can drown me where I stand...I don't know what to do right now.
She trusted me for the night, so should I trust her? If she wanted to she could've killed me in my sleep....my cousin definitely needs to be here to supervise me in case I do something stupid...
I looked back towards the street and back at Luni. I sighed and slowly took her hand as we stepped further out into the water. We stopped walking once the water was knee-deep. I looked at Luni as she was still looking out beyond the sea.
"Luni. What are you doing? And where are you taking me??!" Is this considered kidnapping? She let go of my hand and turned around to look at me. She slowly stepped further into the water.
"I can only show you if you follow me." She smiled before continuing. "To where the water is at its deepest. Nothing will happen to you. I promise. Can you... trust me... how I trusted you?" I looked at her, and then the water "Sure...I hope I can." She smiled and turned around, then continued to walk to the middle of the ocean as I followed her. We kept going until we were fully submerged in the water.
I held my breath as we swam deeper into the water. At this point, it was hard to see since we were so deep underwater.
We couldn't keep going on forever though, the weight of the water would soon crush us if we went too deep. Well, as deep as our bodies could take us.
Another thing is that I need air.
Or I'll die.
