The red-tinted box flashes away for a few seconds worried that I just used my only skill I look around me for nothing to happen then suddenly a screen flashes in front of me with a sound like a game status screen popping up

'I wonder what would happen to skills that use stats if mine are question marks?'

Before deciding on if I should summon something, I start thinking of all the games I've played and what I can do to survive, first I need to find some food and water then a shelter for the night, the forest might have some animals that I can hunt or since this is another world it could have monsters since this feels so much like a game

I look up at the sun for a few minutes squinting my eyes to see if it's rising or setting, I stare at it for a few minutes before noticing it's slowly rising so I assume that direction is east and start mapping out which path to walk, after thinking for about a minute I decide to walk through the forest which would be to the west.

While walking through the forest I feel like I'm being watched from somewhere but every time I look around I don't see anyone or anything looking at me, aside from the feeling of being watched it's peaceful in the forest, there is just enough light to make the forest a relaxing yellowish color, the sense of getting watched gets stronger while I'm walking, its weird the feeling is almost suffocating but when I turn around the feeling dissipates.

I come across a small campsite that appears to have nobody using it, I look around the camp and see 2 tents one small and one big, a few boxes near the big tent, and a campfire between the two tents. My stomach makes an audible growl sound and out of starvation I look through a few of the boxes to see if there is any food I could eat, I look through the top box to find nothing but leather armor that doesn't fit me, opening the second box revealed a bunch of fruit.

Not wanting to leave the people of the camp with no food I only take a couple of what I assume are bananas and oranges, I sit down on a log next to the campfire and start eating the bananas first, it looks just like a banana but the taste is not at all banana flavored it taste like a mix of chocolate cookies and oranges, the texture is soft but at the same time crunchy,

Taking the final bite of the weird banana-looking food I grab the orange wondering what it would taste like I slowly unpeel the skin of it finding it difficult for some reason like peeling a rock, when I finally get the skin off I go in to take a bite of it when I feel a gust of wind from behind me and a knife appears around my throat.

"What are you doing here? and how did you find this camp?" the mysterious feminine-sounding voice questions me in a serious tone if I give the wrong answer I'll be motionless on the ground

"I-uh I found this place after walking a little" I saw slowly putting the orange down and raising my hands

"Oh really so how did you get past the magic barrier then?" she asks with a menacing tone like shes finished listening to me

"Listen I just woke up near here I have no idea what magic barrier you're talking about, I don't even know how I got here"

"Well you better say your goodbyes then cause your dead"

feeling the knife slowly press into my neck as my life flashes before my eyes

"YES" I shout without thinking about what might get summoned feeling the knife cut into my throat a little when I shout drawing blood

"You must've gone crazy," the person behind me says

The person steadied the knife "This is goodbye now. Enjoy the afterlife"

Saddened by the summon not appearing I hold my breathe and close my eyes preparing for the end when the person suddenly yelps as the knife falls to the ground, gasping from the relief of not dying I grab the knife and turn it where the person was but they were on the ground and next to me is standing a massive dog with fur that makes me think I'm staring at a beautiful night sky

A screen suddenly pops up blocking my view of the giant dog

The screen quickly disappears as the wolf howls, and weird floating lights appear above the wolf as they shape themselves into spears

"Please I have a child I was just trying to protect them," she says as tears start to form in her eyes

the wolf looks over at me as if it was asking me if I want her dead or not, I nod my head no and the wolf looks back over at her while sitting down

"Alright fine, I'll let you live on one condition"

"Please I'll do anything"

"Give me half your food and leave me alone if I see you following me, my wolf will make sure you regret it," I say hoping my summon doesn't have a time limit

The woman slowly stands up while holding her hands up her eyes still tearing up as she points towards the crate next to the tent "There that's where I keep the food there is a bag inside the tent you can take it just don't kill me"

I tell the wolf to watch over her and if she does anything suspicious to hit her but try not to kill her. Walking over to the box and tent I open the tent looking for the bag I poke my head in to see photos of the woman and a child together I see the bag sticking out a little in the corner of the tent past the sleeping bag I grab it as I hear the woman yell out in pain, going out as fast as I can to see what happened, I see the woman on the ground with a spear-shaped hole in the center of her foot and a throwing knife in front of her.

Holding the bag in my hand I turn my head away from the passed-out woman and the blood pool forming on the grass staining it red almost threw up at the sight, I just silently put some of the food in the bag trying not to imagine or look at what happened trying to ignore the groans of the fainted woman. When I got the supplies I gestured to the wolf to follow me, I put the bag on the wolf's back as we walked off into the forest hopefully never seeing that woman again.
