Jarvis dreamt of fire but not in a comforting way to stave off the cold night. Rather in a horrifying flash flood of flames burning down a kingdom to mere ashes. A nightmare, but that wasnt what woke Jarvis up. It was the sudden blaring of a siren coming from behind the wall Jarvis was sleeping. The loud alarm was followed by an explosion that propelled Jarvis and the strange creature he saved off the wall.
Jarvis got up, dizzy and with a small headache. He looked around to see what was with the commotion. It was a thief! He blew up the wall and stole multiple bags of money! The thief was a very pale bald man with a smug look on his face. He wore a black mask and striped pants and shirt as if he was a comical thief robbing a bank... Turns out the wall Jarvis slept on was part of the bank. The thief grinned and ran away as soon as he heard the cops yelling at him to stop resisting. Jarvis was barely getting up when the thief ran past him and tripped over his own untied laces. Jarvis watched as he got up and tucked his shoelaces on the side of his shoes before grabbing the bags of money and running away.
Jarvis picked up a bag of money as well as his wallet. The quickness of all this situation went above his head and is still processing what is going on. So, Jarvis went to a default kindness and went to give him back his wallet. "Hey guy!" Jarvis yelled, "You dropped your wallet!" The thief noticed and was about to get run back until he saw the cops spotted the thief. "Thanks you homeless man but you keep it!" The thief yelled as he ran off with the rest of the stolen money.
The cops continued to chase after the thief as one cop stayed back to catch his breath. The cop noticed the bag of money Jarvis was holding. "Sir, do not make any sudden movements!" The cop ordered Jarvis, pointing his gun at Jarvis' chest. Jarvis stiffened up, not knowing what to do. "Do you work for the thief?" The cop asked. Jarvis quickly shook his head, replying: "N-no sir." The cop ordered to hand back the money slowly. Jarvis did as such. The cop sighed and lowered his weapon. The cop got a good look at Jarvis and asked some questions about the situation. Jarvis told him everything he knew including the wallet and the money bag. The cop checked the wallet. It seems to belong to a Drappy. His image looking very spry.
'Now where have I heard that name? Drappy?' Thought Jarvis. He swore he heard it from somewhere... That's right! The cave by the hills! Drappy's secret hideout or something. The policeman called for backup and followed Jarvis to the secret hideout.
As they walked, the 2 had a conversation to make things less awkward and break the long silence. "So what were you doing behind a bank?" "Officer, i didn't know it was a bank. I had no money for an inn and bought a blanket." "I see... and whats with the little guy?" The cop pointed at the strange thing thay Jarvis saved that night. The creature followed behind doing it's best to look secretive and hiding behind rocks and grass whenever they turned around to look at it. "I dont know." Said Jarvis. "I thought you would know. Do you know what that is?"
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
The cop was just as clueless as Jarvis. It's as if this creature was from another world! Jarvis decided to call it Tybalt. The cop thought it was a strange name but at the moment he couldnt think of any other name besides Max or Tim. Speaking of which, Officer Timothy or Tim was the cop's name. Jarvis and Officer Tim properly introduced themselves right in the middle of their journey.
Tybalt got tired and decided to follow closer to the 2 to tell them to rest for a bit. It was a long walk and it was already noon. Officer Tim noticed and told Jarvis to wait a bit to rest. This will also give more time for backup to catchup. Officer Tim offered Jarvis a spare sandwich.
It was a battered and fried fish sandwich with bacon, lettuce and green tomatoes. Jarvis took it and tried it. It was strange but decent. He cant tell what kind of fish it was made with but his stomach was growling from hunger, he didnt really care. Tim said that his wife does the cooking. She isnt the best chef but what she makes is more than edible. 'His words, not mine' Thought Jarvis as he bit into his sandwich. Turns out Fish BLT is a common dish in her hometown. Tybalt was offered a Fish BLT but turned it down to hunt some giant crickets that roamed the area.
After their rest, They all got up and continued walking. Backup is arriving late it seems. Still, Jarvis and the group continued forward with Tybalt following behind at a distance but not so great a distance as last time. Officer Tim enjoyed the company of Jarvis. They spent the trip talking and getting to know each other... Well its more like Jarvis was getting to know Tim better since he cant remember anything besides everything that happened after he woke up on that pool of blood. Tim didnt mind. He liked talking about himself.
Finally they got to the "secret entrance." Backup is arriving soon but not soon enough. There he was. Drappy as spry as ever, loading up a white truck with the cash he stole. He was almost finished by the time Jarvis and Tim arrived. If backup does arrive, they wouldve been too late. Jarvis had to do something. Tim suggested in ambushing Drappy. A takedown and arrest approach with no time to react. It was a good plan and so Jarvis waited till Drappy got back in his cave.
Once he did, Jarvis, Tim and Tybalt went in the dank cave to hide behind stalagmites and stalagtites. "Drappy is getting close." Officer Tim whispered to Jarvis. "On the count of 3, we jump him and arrest Drappy."
Ready?
One,
Two,
Three.
BAM!
Officer Tim was shot point blank on the chest.
