I would be more surprised by the abilities if I didn't already know about them. But this doesn't lessen the excitement I feel about being able to use the abilities of my favorite character.
Although I don't see anything too special to the point where Abeona has to tell me to keep it a secret. From her reaction, I believed that I had a magic like Prevention, which can literally revive the dead or prevent death from a fatal wound like decapitation.
"Okay, I promise," I said to Abeona, not that I was going to tell anyone else either.
When she heard my answer, she was happy and gave me a hug. "I knew you weren't someone reckless."
For some reason, seeing someone care about me makes me feel happy.
Once that feeling subsided, I couldn't help but say, "Okay, at least I'll be able to venture into the dungeon now without any inconvenience."
When my Goddess heard what I said, her expression changed from a happy one to one that showed a smile that wasn't exactly a smile, and she frowned. "You haven't been more than a few minutes since you joined the familia, and already you want to go commit suicide?"
Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit.
Hearing what she said, I got a bit grumpy, but I still wanted to avoid her misunderstanding me, so I said, "I'm not saying that I'm going to go directly to venture into the dungeon. I don't have a guild advisor yet, and only crazy people go to the dungeon without even preparing."
I just lost my life, and I don't want to lose it again for something stupid like going to the labyrinth just because I got the Falna and some skills, thinking I'll do well just because I watched the anime and read the novel.
It's almost the same as saying that just by watching a movie about soldiers, I became one. I haven't even killed an animal like chickens, nor have I grabbed a knife with the intention of stabbing someone.
I noticed the expression of relief when Abeona heard my explanation.
"Let's celebrate you joining our familia," she said as she got up from the bed.
"Wait!"
She turned her gaze from me to the bed.
"Can you tell me where the bathroom is?"
She just gave a smirk and said, "There's one on the first floor and one on the door to the right of this room."
After she said that, she left the room, while I stared at the ceiling without getting up from the bed.
It's only been less than half a day since I came into this world, and I already feel exhausted. Now that I have a familia, I don't need to worry about starving or worry about trying to find a place to sleep.
In this world, there are not many things to entertain me, and the entertainment options revolve around gambling in the red-light district, among other things, and none of these options appeal to me. I can try to become a merchant or something like that. But I feel that being in this world and close to a place that can help me increase my strength and give me power along with a longer lifespan is very tempting.
In the end, it's best to venture into the dungeon.
After I finished clearing up my mood a bit, I got out of bed.
When I got up, I stretched my body a bit and then did something I had always dreamed of doing if given the chance.
I opened the palms of my hands and placed a portal in front of me. I felt a strange sensation when doing so, but I ignored it and touched the portal. Nothing happened, but I started to feel excited. Who doesn't want some kind of superpower?
I put the other portal and placed my hand back.
I saw my hand come out from the other portal, from the same direction I stuck my hand in.
In the game, spells that could be cast through portals had the ability to go in any direction, but it was limited to the same direction and range of the Eliotrope.
I tried changing the angle but couldn't do it while I had my hand on the portal. Once I got it off, it was no problem and I watched the portal change angle at will, but I was starting to get the same feeling I had when I opened it for the first time.
Maybe it's mind consumption. I should stop for now.
I left the room and went to the first floor where I found everyone waiting for me, sitting with food on the table. It felt great to be welcomed, and maybe it's not so bad to live in this place.
As I sat down on one of the chairs, Adeona started to speak. "Now that you belong to this familia, we need to officially register you in the guild as part of the Abeona familia. But you can wait until tomorrow and rest for the rest of the day."
"Okay," I replied, and after everyone heard my answer, Milye said, "That means we can all go adventuring in the dungeon together and…" She seemed excited as she talked about adventuring in the dungeon, but she was interrupted by Abeona.
"Milye, they are not ready to face the dungeon yet. We need to get to know each other first and work as a team, or it will be very dangerous if they are attacked by many monsters or other adventurers in the dungeon." She seemed very concerned with the issue of sending us to the dungeon, despite the fact that such situations do not usually happen on the first floors.
Milye just pouted when she heard that we couldn't go to the dungeon yet.
After that brief conversation, we started to eat. David asked me a question. "Liam, what do you want to do for the rest of the day? It's still a few hours until it starts to get dark."
I thought for a moment and said, "I would like to get to know the surroundings a bit. I usually get lost if I don't follow clear instructions on how to get to a specific place."
"You can all go together and get to know each other a bit while you explore the surroundings," Adeona said, to which Milye and David said, "Fine," while Milya simply nodded.
