CHATER 1025
Jonathan didn’t expect to bump into Estelle here. He got a sudden call today, telling him to meet
someone at the Hungry Spoon.
Then he found out that it was a young girl. Turned out he was set up for a blind date.
Nobody in the Lamont family knew what was going on between him and Estelle. He hadn’t brought any
girl home for two years, so his family might think something was wrong with him and set up this blind
date secretly.
He had already explained the situation to the girl. Since he turned her down, there was no need to have
dinner. They came down from upstairs, only to bump into Estelle.
After descending the stairs, Jonathan let the girl leave first, then headed towards Estelle.
He sat across Estelle on the couch, his gaze never left her,
Estelle knew Jonathan was sitting opposite and watching her, but she continued drawing her design,
oblivious to his gaze.
They sat face to face, but there was no communication, like two strangers.
A waiter came over, put down a glass of lemon water, and asked Jonathan if he wanted to order.
“Give me a chocolate cake.” Jonathan spoke in a low voice.
“Sure, sir.”
The waiter retreated respectfully.Content held by .
Soon, the cake was served. Jonathan pushed the cake plate in front of Estelle, then lowered his head
to check his phone.
About half an hour later, Estelle’s phone rang. She answered the call, “Magdalen!”
“The traffic is terrible. I just arrived, where are you?” Magdalen’s voice came over the phone.
Estelle turned to look out the window, saw Magdalen getting out of a red sports car, and heading
towards the restaurant.
“Come in, I can see you.”
Estelle hung up, packed up her stuff, stood up and left, treating Jonathan as a stranger.
Jonathan touched his forehead, his eyes filled with indulgence and helplessness.
Estelle greeted Magdalen at the door, who took off her sunglasses, hugged her, then walked towards
the corridor with her arm around her waist, looking excited.
“Ella, I just returned from M Country. I nailed a big client. Whatever you want to eat today, I got you!”
Magdalen said.
Estelle laughed, “Look at you, all smug.”
“Of course, I might have failed in love, but I must succeed in my career.” Magdalen said proudly.
Estelle paused, “You had another fight with Morrison?”
“No, same old stuff.”
Just as Magdalen was about to speak, she suddenly turned to look at the hall, “Doesn’t that man’s back
look a lot like Jonathan?”
She didn’t lower her voice. Estelle followed her gaze and felt the man stiffen.
Estelle instinctively blocked Magdalen’s sight, “You’re seeing things.”
If Magdalen found out she was with Jonathan, no matter how she explained, Magdalen would lose it.
“Really?” Magdalen frowned in doubt.
She was about to take a closer look when the restaurant owner came over, warmly greeting,
“Magdalen, Estelle!”
Magdalen had to put aside what she was doing and turned to greet him with a smile.
