Chapter 2: The Last Flame, Part 2/?

"Die, you cursed beasts!" he bellowed, leaping into the air as time slowed. He swung his blazing divine sword down, unleashing flames that turned the hordes of unknown creatures to ash, leaving devastation in his wake. The ground shook, fissures appearing beneath him.

"Tch..." The creatures with long, bladed arms lunged at him, but he swiftly parried, executing a sweeping motion that cleaved through them effortlessly. Aiden’s long hair, a mix of brown and black highlights, flowed behind him as his pale amber eyes narrowed in concentration. When one creature approached, he instinctively kicked its blade away and thrust his sword into its chest.

"You think that'll work?!" he grunted, pushing forward and impaling several more. He ignited his sword even further, incinerating them to ashes, just as before.

"Absolute Authority."

He raised his left palm towards the airborne creatures, an invisible force freezing them in midair. Clenching his fist, he shattered their skulls and bones, dragging their disintegrating bodies down onto the hordes below, crushing them.

Among the throng, knight-like beings with spiked protrusions charged at him, their dark swords barely grazing his skin. Aiden flipped back to create distance, slashing upward with his burning blade and sending a wave of flames that turned them to charred remains.

Some larger creatures opened their mouths wide, unleashing chaotic dark orbs towards him. He quickly turned and sliced through each orb, his heightened senses making surprise attacks futile.

Suddenly, a sharp pain pierced his chest, causing him to stagger. Dark orbs rained down, striking him directly and sending him flying. He rolled on the ground but clung to his sword, determined to rise again.

"This is bad..." he muttered, coughing heavily as blood trickled from his lips, the burning sensation inside him intensifying. "I'm nearing my limit... now of all times..."

After spitting out blood, he resumed fighting, but the unknown beings seemed endless, their numbers growing despite his efforts. Finally, they coalesced into a massive titan, its single, crossed eye glowing a fierce purple as it loomed over him.
